This is great, for me; I'm headed to Boston here shortly and have been looking for good info on this conflict, and this video gives me the best detail.
My ancestor William Tucker helped fortify Dorchester Heights as a Private in March 1776. This is the best description of the event that I have seen. It brings this pivotal event in the Revolutionary War to life. Thank You.
I am reading 1776 by David McCullough. Your great video allows me the visualize this battle in detail. On to the battle of New York. Thank you for doing this!
This is great stuff. I'm a US citizen but I was born and raised in France. Since I didn't learn US history in HS, I feel like I don't know enough of it as an American so Imma binge watch your episodes on US history. Definitely subscribed!
Haha same! Love that book. The way Knox brought the artillery down from Ticonderoga was amazing. I visited fort Ticonderoga a few times when i was a child just a remarkable story.
Great video, excellent description of the battle. Oh yes, in 1775 George had a grave responsibility being leader of a revolutionary army. At this point it can only be a fledgling army fighting for a fledgling cause and so he has to keep his focus on the long haul and be able to milk any victories for their greatest worth. I believe his enemy was aware of this too and the suggestion they might burn down the city was reminding the General how delicate his victory was because at this date and time it's all about the costs, in prestige for the General and his cause as well as actual financial burden of building and maintaining an army. To achieve all this he needs a vibrant financial center like Boston on his side. Most historians will admit the General was a clever and calculating leader adept at achieving long haul objectives, i.e., keeping his eye on the prize.
I just want to say THANK YOU! Thank You ...for taking the time to share your knowledge and to create a color graphic video of these important events. Thank you also for being a fellow Patriot! I loved this video. You did a great job capturing how it all unfolded during that period of time. This was exactly what I was searching for. BTW ....I'm 65 y/o and although I love freedom and I love my country, I am still learning and I drank in all your facts. The United States IS STILL the GREATEST country in the world. Unfortunately.....the fight ( FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT) ...is still on in many ways.
Please get a better quality mic! For $170-250, you could get one that vastly improves your audio quality, and believe me that is a key factor with viewers on deciding whether they want to continue watching the vid (whereas simplicity of animation is a minor factor). Very good summary, my only criticism is that you imply Knox was already in Ticonderoga, whereas he was with Washington and likely was the one who devised the plan to procure the cannons.
The 13 star flag did not exist when the battle of Bunker Hill & the Siege of Boston occurred. The Americans had a navy blue flag with a white square in the upper left corner. In the square was a red cross of St George and a green pine tree.
You should look at the British view of this minor conflict in North America. Thats if you can find it as its a few sentences in the annuals of the British Empire.
Hacktually Ethan Allen and The Green Mountain Boys spearheaded the attack on Fort Ticonderoga. Benedict Arnold was relegated to second in command. Also, Henry Knox was sent by Washington from Boston to Fort Ticonderoga to retrieve the cannons that would be positioned atop Dorchester Heights. C'mon now, let's get the history correct.
Totally left out he occupation of Fort William on Castle island by the British They abandoned the fortified island without a fight after the Evacuation on March 17 1776. Blowing up critical Boston Harbor Lighthouse as a parting shot. The RN blockaded the port from offshore thereafter And the British Naval Attack by boats against the Dorchester Heights. A "Kamakazi" March storm came up and scattered the amphibious force, losing all surprise. The Royal Navy declined further assault support, and the shipping channel threated by the plunging fire of Dorchester Height cannon above, intended to pull all RN ships out of the Harbor Checkmate Howe offered terms. As mentioned. Wisely accepted by Washington, by necessity, because of manpower and supply issues, And to conserve his Army for the future Easily winning a stunning easy victory, gaining world notice, reclaiming vital port of Boston mostly intact. Huge moral boost As the War moved to the south

You do a wonderful job describing the conflicts. Great job in how you map it all out. Thank you!
My 5×Great Grandfather Daniel Stoy served in the infantry unit that was used to help take the hill during the siege.

P.S: Your script is very good. Very theatrical - you just need a better mike. Imma look at more recent videos to see if it improved since then.
Excellent coverage of the Siege of Boston. I plan on watching your other videos. I hope you start making more videos on this channel.
I'm reading 1776 by David Mccullough. Had me really interested in this battle. Awesome video and Thanks.

Great video and a great channel keep up the good work and you will be big.
Thanks for your support, I appreciate it! I have more videos in the works as we speak!
You're clear and precise!
This is epic man thanks
A very good presentation.
Henry Knox was not assigned to Fort Ticonderoga. Instead he was sent there by Washington from Boston to retrieve the cannons.
Nice work.
If I was general Washington I would've blundered. Thank God for those victories!

So one video said not a cannon was fired. You say at dawn they bombarded the city. Which is it?
Where is Fort Independence on this map?
I love your accent!

pretty siqq
my 4thGeneral Stephen Moylan love history but a little more enthusiast reading would be awesome
Howe would have burned Boston to cover his retreat to the ships... same result but Boston could have become a rally cry?
"Lamb's *_Damn"?_*
Lmao at bunker hill being a british victory
Sounds like a Philadelphian narrating.
Pre historic biological warfare
Good work, only the American accent is sickening. Gnawing a living toad while speaking?
