I lived in California 51 yrs and seen Western history even going to Pearl Harbor 6 times. Now I live in New Hampshire. Going to Bunker Hill and seeing Paul Revers house and place of rest along with other great Americans. Wow!! Part two in my life begins. Even toured Lizzy Borden house.
Great! I have never heard such a detailed description of Breeds Hill, or that it was the Americans that had gone to that much preperation in defending those positions. Thank you I have learned a lot.
Battle of Bunker Hill was not fought on Breeds hill, it was all over Charlestown. The monument sits on Russell's pasture near Breed's hill. His accent saying Charleston drives me nuts! The story however is accurate
You clearly have a passion for this subject in particular. As an amateur historian (specializing on the Pacific theater in World War 2), my hat is off. Keep it up!
Dude...have you ever taught history in school?? Watching you videos, I have learned more than ever did with boring books or over acted documentaries...you laid everything out in a way that even the layman could understand...simple yet concise...the map layout is the best part as you illustrate the entire battle in an easy to understand sequence of events that is not ladened with unnecessary information...I hope you plan on presenting the entire revolution from beginning to end...your videos could be used in schools to help student better understand how the war was fought!!!
Great video buddy! (Consider fading the sound effects in and out as opposed to abrupt stops, I don’t know jack sh*t about video editing just that felt like something to suggest :) Anyways, great video :)
Fun fact: general picairn the commander of British soldiers during Lexington and Concord was killed in this battle. And on the other side Dr Warren Died with a shot in the head and was bayonetted many times his body was not recovered until months after the battle
Pretty sure Pitcairn was not a general, and he was not the "commander" of the troops that marched to Lexington and Concord. He was a Royal Marine and a Major, second in command of the column as it marched to Concord. As the column was returning toward Boston, reinforcements under Lord Percy joined them, and the command changed. You are correct in that Pitcairn died because of wounds sustained during the Battle of Bunker Hill.
I find it interesting that the battle's namesake wasn't even really part of the battle. It's like the only place on the peninsula where there were no battles.
I did enjoy this video, you got the basics of the Battle as far as I know them and the graphics work. However, I wish you mentioned both then Colonel John Stark and Dr. Joseph Warren by name. More Americans should know about these men, especially Dr. Warren, who lost his life during the Battle. He was largely responsible for the Americans being ready for the British march to Lexington and Concord.
That is filled with inaccuracies and you should start anew. The Americans were commanded by General Artemus Ward. Prescott was a Colonel and was outranked even on the peninsula by General Putman and Major General Joseph Warren. Prescott only commanded his own Regiment. He did not command the men at the rail fence for example who were largely 2 Regiments from New Hampshire, commanded by Colonel John Stark. Also you use a picture to depict Prescott which is in fact a guy that lived in the following century and not him but a different lad called Prescott. You identify a guy at about 11 minutes as Prescott but that is not Prescott, Prescott being a few men over and wearing the long distinctive coat, as in the statue. The English did not attack the rail fence in 3 columns, but in rows because doing so is suicidal if the Americans had cannons. It was later, they attacked the Redoubt in columns, after they knew that the Americans had no cannons up there. Read Nathaniel Philbrick or Nick Bunker and remake this video as it will drive a historian away from your other videos, which I have not viewed. You totally omitted the most important part, which was the death of the hero, General Dr Joseph Warren
Stop saying audacious! Write a script and your narration will be so much better. Great breakdown of the battlefield events. Remember- we proofread with new eyes to catch errors we have gone blind to.
Great video, thank you. FYI as a Massachusetts native, Concord is pronounced like 'Conkered' , and Charles-town, not Charleston.
I promise to recommend your channel to whomever I can. History is our greatest treasure and too many young men and women simply don't value it.
Great explanation and graphics! Watching the John Adams miniseries and needed a little background, this was just the ticket, thanks!

Wow, I didnt really know about Bunker Hill before this. That was cool
Great Video, really enjoyed it

Prescott was a Colonel, not a General. That's a full ranking tier lower.
Thank you for the correction, I appreciate it!
Well done, lad! Your channel deserves more views; I’m sure you shall have them.
It’s funny comparing the horrible history taught in public schools versus this. This was an amazing summary
Great video buddy!

Anyways, great video :)
glad someone has explained this battle no one else has

Boston was so small compared today. I really wish I could see it back then, when the city hadn't yet obscured the natural coastlines.
new to the channel great video
This is so much better than the other crap on yt about Bunker Hill

Please post more! I miss ur videos
I was in the voice cast of PBS’ Liberty’s Kids, including voiced Prescott’s apocryphal “…Whites of their eyes”
I came across my Dutch surname in America.
Greetings from South Africa.

yo keep em comin
Bunker hill is on the freedom trail I think....I might be completely wrong 😆 lol
1 problem, it's pronounced Charles Town (1 word) not Charleston
The Battle of Bunker Hill proved that the American's could stand up to best military in the world
General gage disliked this
CharlesTOWN,not Charleston
Tarance wood Wall to protect from ship cannon
It's pronounced Charles-town. Charleston is in South Carolina.

Don't worry, I see it as more of an island too with a thick causeway connecting it to the mainland. So you're good. Lol

Also 'Lambs Dam', not Damn, lol
Shouldnt it be called " the battle of Breed Hill"
ok bro
Charlestown not Charleston!!
Colonial Habits
Lol...the past tense of succumb is not succame. That's hilarious.
Breeds hill
123=United States of America
L
English bristish
You would think the narrator would learn how to pronounce "Charles-TOWN" - Not the South Carolina pronunciation.....
