Very well explained. As you said, it is not easy to think through this growth as we think in linear terms. A short cut I use is "Rule of 72". Knowing our target return rate, if we divide 72 by that return rate, we will know how long it takes for our investment to double. So for a 15% return, it takes 5 years for my investment to double. So every 5 years, my investment doubles - 2, 4, 8, 16, 32.... In 50 years, my investment would have grown 1000 times. Now - that is the power of compounding. 🙂
