Thank you so much for making these videos! I was able to do the repair by myself in my front yard. Saved a huge amount of money. For anyone who is looking into doing this... whew. It's a job. But doable. I used an electric impact wrench (the strongest one Dewalt has) to take off the crank pulley bolt without that tool that holds the transmission. Another note, there is a tool that will hold your cams in place--use it!! I didn't rotate the timing to top dead center, and as soon as I took the timing chain tensioner out, my chain jumped both sprockets. Thankfully, I had marked them, but took forever to get it back into place. Start with the front bumper, make a very thorough check list of everything as you're taking it apart (and use it as you put it back together). I forgot to tighten the alternator nut after install and it haunted me for a week. Again, thank you thank you thank you!
Man that is good to hear. I'm glad that my videos help people. Sometimes just watching someone do it the first time it takes the fear away from the job. I have learned a lot from other you tubers I just wish they could be more thorough when explaining things.
Coming back to comment, just started on the job on my 370z and I must say this video series has made it really nice to do. Thank you for the time you put into this series!
This is by far the best repair video I've see for replacing the galley gasket, thank you very much for your time and the effort to get everything on camera. Again thank you very much.
A seen other videos people doing this job and so far your the only one that explain the steps really good and the torks for everything also good view of video i have a 2009 G37 coupe it has 183,000 miles and it been working good i got it when it hade 153,000 miles so im not shure if it already happen to the other owners i hope it already did so i could save me some money also good tool of braket that you put in the transmission you took it out easy if it happens to my car ill probably doit with your guidance of videos good job
Thanks. I wish others would do the same instead of showing what happened then fixed and no explanation. I did alot of research and I'm happy the way it turned out. It's not perfect but hopefully I'll help others. Hope you subscribe
I watched all 3 vids Excellent vids bro very thorough and a lot of detail. Also can you please tell me where online did you get that tool (j-48641) cuz I can’t find it anywhere
Thanks for the service manual information and linking to nicoclub. I didn't know such resources were available like this for free. Any chance you have one for a manual 2006 BMW z4 3.0 si? Or if you could point me in the right direction, I'm helping my relative out with his vehicle.
@@Twotonetaco I'm thinking it wad my fault. I should have used the upgraded gasket it's thicker and stronger. But I used the stock oem gasket. I learned about the better gasket after the job was done. In my opinion with this car I would highly recommend extended warranty. Mine expired 2 months before it broke the first time. I have a friend that has an infinity and he has no issues. It's the luck of the draw I guess
I have other parts to this video showing the sequence of events from start to finish on fixing the problem. Check em out it might help with the confusion

@@RidingWithNick125 the oil galley gasket broke again. Im going to fix it and get rid of it.
@@AngelGarage it broke again after being repaired? do you think it’s a good idea to stay away from these?

Ever find out what metal was?
No. But I've put 2,800 miles and no problem. The only thing I can think of it might have been shaving from when the engine was built.
I'm confused. You removed all of that just to show that part of the galley gasket and a piece of metal was stuck in the screen?
I have other parts to this video showing the sequence of events from start to finish on fixing the problem. Check em out it might help with the confusion
Trys to do it with out taking off the bumper and front end, Ends ul taking out the front end lol 😂
I tried. But it was tons easier with out it... live and learn
