Ole Miss gave signs early in the regional that they were about to go on a serious tear and they sure did. They just crushed a lot of very good teams along the route. One of the more impressive runs I have seen in awhile.
They only had to play Miami once and then drew So Miss in the super regional. So miss was good but it was not a bad draw bc of the mental edge ole miss has on Southern Miss. So I was worried they kind of back doored in. Boy that was wrong. I just think back to the incredible Ole Miss team that lost to Tennessee Tech a few years ago and others that were good that didn't make it, and it was this team that finally won it, not those teams.

Arkansas took out North Carolina, Oklahoma took out Florida, they only played Miami once, so miss beat LSU and even though So Miss was the higher seed, I am guessing ole miss was pulling for So Miss to win that regional over LSU. Auburn Beat Oregon State.. you get my point. While they beat some big name teams they didn't necessarily beat the highest ranked teams on the way to the championship. Oklahoma was a big name but Florida was the host team as an example and the favorite. VA Tech was playing killer ball but again Oklahoma dispatched them for them. The door was open for them by other teams and they took advantage.

Slow down . LSU and Georgia won the first two sec national championships. Before that SEC baseball was bad. Since then even Vanderbilt has 2!!!! Sec baseball is so strong since 1990

Absolutely ridiculous! So many talk about the SEC in regards to football but the College Playoff is usually a four team forgone conclusion every season! To me what the SEC has done with it's baseball track record is way more impressive, involving several schools which win and not just the top heavy sector

When you get to know fans from other schools, most, not all, are decent people trying to have a good time. When they visit your school for a game we should all be as polite as possible. Win or lose, we all have to go to work Monday, have familes to care for, and bills to pay.
I remember watching Tennessee sweep ole miss earlier in the regular season , winning by almost 10 runs each game and thinking the vols were unbeatable . This just shows how important it is to get hot at the right time, and how talent alone will not win championships . Congrats ole miss !!
As an ole Miss fan it looked like he got crossed up a couple different times. Also how do you expect him to catch pitches in the outer third of the left handed batters box? I feel bad for him because he was put in hard situations and faltered on the big stage

I thought the same thing. That’s not normal.. teams don’t sweep LSU in Baton Rouge. It had a special feeling because the pitching was looking unhittable and the lineup was so veteran.
Even after that Ole Miss getting in the tournament was no guarantee. How they played in the tournament was incredible. Allowing only 25 runs in 11 games. 11 of those were in games they won 22-6 and 13-5. Sweeping a super regional on the road with consecutive shutouts. I think only once did they allow more than 6 hits. Throw in near perfect fielding and clutch hitting and they were next to unbeatable. Great run by Ole Miss.
He pitched 8 innings, he was worn out. My friends were at the game and the sentiment was all the same: as soon as the pitcher tires out, Ole Miss will win. That guy was lockdown but his pitch count was what, 100?

Anyone remember former MLB pitcher Jarrod Washburn? His son Jack Washburn was on the ole miss baseball team this year, he’s from Webster Wisconsin. Jarrod Washburn won the D3 college baseball championship in 1994 for UW-Oshkosh, 28 years later his son Jack wins with ole miss for D1. First time ever ole miss his won a baseball championship
