Re: Taking a Break from PoGo & Setting Goals in PoGo...
Taking a break from PoGo was one of the best things I did. I played from release for roughly the first 3.5 years. Ended up taking nearly a 3.5 year break, and then slowly started getting back into it. Now I'm really enjoying the game. Picking it up again felt like a new game, and almost gave me a similar feeling that I had when it first came out. I've been setting my own personal goals since I picked it up and sometimes they include things like "gain 100k xp each day this month" or "walk 50+km each week for a month" and that's also added a level of enjoyment to the game.
Thanks for the uplifting/real/and fun conversations! You're doing great work Daxi! Truly appreciate your content!

    •  4 месяца назад +7

Thanks for sharing this - at end of the day the game is to be enjoyed so if a break is what you need people need to do themselves a favor and take it!

Honestly very comforting watching your videos. Really makes me relax and just not think about life and all the struggles that comes with it. You make me realize that there’s so much more to life, and that I’ve got to enjoy and appreciate the small things. Personally my friends quit this game, but watching your videos, especially when you’re out with mystic and fleece really made me feel like a part of it, yk what I mean. I really hope go fest comes to my country next year so I’ll be able to meet you and finally experience this. Thank you so much for pushing out the content. Much love, time to quit yapping :D

Wow! Daxi, you are so real. I LOVE it! Thank you for perspective on IRL Go Fest, therapy, emotions, everything you covered in this video. You took into account multiple different aspects: can people afford it, if they can-is it worth it, if they can't-that's OK, what you've experienced, ect. I really appreciate you addressing the comments on you being a sell out and the trip you've put together. It's awesome to see someone believe in themselves and defend their position in a respectful way. There is so much hate and anger when people have different views. Many times people don't even listen to each other. Thank you for listening and responding in a respectful manner. Truly refreshing!
I know so many people are bummed that they can't go to these events or participate in other things that they'd like to due to finances or other things. It IS a huge bummer and it sucks, but, as you said in your video, experience life the best that you can. Even if you can't go, take part in Global Go Fest with a friend or a group if you can. Make it about the connections, not necessarily the shinies. The shinies are great but when it comes down to it, it's the people that make or break it. Life isn't all roses and butterflies, true. Crap happens as they say. What you can do is work through it to the best of your ability and that is commendable.
Thank you for the encouragement and fellowship. Have fun! Wishing you and others in all the events good shiny luck!

of course they're worth it... unfortunately very few have the money to cost something like this, Niantic expects people's lives to rely around this game...
another point i got while watching, i get the experiences with friends part but also not everyone has that, i'd love to go to these events but I really have no one that would go alongside, and i think going at it alone would be kind of depressing, its already a bit hard to play locally on my own most of the time

    • @rmgaminghq7670

My local community went the day before me last year and I went the day after the Sunday last year, I went with one friend I get that it may be scary thinking of going alone to an event like this but the community is amazing I went with one friend last year and we met so many new people around the park and city and ended up spending the day with new faces in the city portion of the day, if you do end up going you’ll 100% meet like minded people!

    • @97MiloProductions
      @97MiloProductions 4 месяца назад

@@rmgaminghq7670 hmm not sure if i didn't explain myself properly, at least for me its not about it being a scary issue, i already played alone beforehand, I could do it, but being alone would be partly weird like this, i do assume most people would be with family or friends but for many, even if they can afford the trip, they may not have people with the money to go alongside them. And I don't know how willing would people let strangers tag along with them on a foreign city.
I'm actually planning to move to Japan in a few years and if the game is still going im most definitely attending an in person event if held there, not too sure if I'll have any acquaintances by that time however.

I love going to in-person events for Pogo. I have been to 8 in person events. either Go Fests, Tours or safari zones. They have always been worth it because I get to travel to a city and experience it in a way I never would. Also, international travel with a purpose is amazing. You go to these events and there are thousands of other players to join raids with, share an experience with, and celebrate rare catches with.

I’ve been going to go fest since 2019 Chicago. I haven’t missed one since then and my biggest reason for going is the memories that I create with my friends. Your view on “it depends” going to PoGo fest is worth it, is def valid. You hit all the major points. To each their own 🎉💚I personally enjoy doing both🎉 going to pogo fest and participating in global pogo fest.
$30 with travel to enjoy new experiences with friends/fam in a new environment(this year - NYC in particular def has the food and attractions to back it up to being fun imo). I know that the price for the pogo fest ticket and bonuses tends to inflate way more than $30, believe me my wallet hurt but I know for me at least it’ll be worth it. I do plan to raid and walk my butt off trying to get as many shinies as I can. The XP and stardust gains are a nice bonus
$15 global ticket gives the opportunity to those of us already traveling to try again for shinies we missed out. And still have a fun experience at the comfort of home with friends/fam (cuz I do plan to stay locally in my community for pogo fest global).
My group of friends and others from our pogo community have even made a competition amongst ourselves to see who’s getting the most shinies while we visit NYC, another fun challenge we made to bond us in the future 🎉

Your conclusion of "it depends" is very honest. I like your points about treating it as a vacation with GoFest as one of the perks. Can you play Pokemon Go at locally and have fun? Of course. Is it more fun with friends? Yeah. Then, if you want to go someplace with friends for a new experience and can all afford it, why not? It's a bit like your planned trip: that isn't even during GoFest but people who go will get a cool Pokemon Go experience with a RUclipsr they like and more beyond that with all the visits and and activities thrown in. In this life, you only have so much time and so much money, the trick is to make the most of what you have.

Thank you for the sincerity Daxi. I've never been to a GO Fest and I'm more willing to go as more and more events passes by. Obvsiously for the perks in the game but for the eperience and meeting people that have the same tastes in this game.
I always played Pokemon GO alone (except in the beginning and in certain circunstances) and t's a good experience because I always liked the pokemon main line games but... it's hard to play alone and in some specific times or locations hide what i'm doing, because it's a kid's game, right?... But I think it's only life.
Your experience and insight about travels, money spent and why or shoud we do it it's good to hear.
I'm from Portugal and 33 right now and never like Pokemon games more than now and only who grew with the games or cards or whatever knows what I feel and it's hard to explain to someone that don't know the feeling.
Did you ever know of a policeman as a profession tha plays Pokemon GO? Not in service, of course...
I hope I'll have at least one experience in a GO Fest someday.

I can suggest how to solve the two Pokemon overlap issue, when players tap Pokemon overlapped, one of the Pokemon always appears in catching screen.
    Suggested overcome method
Mechanic updated by tapping one overlapped Pokemon and got out from catching screen and tapping again the overlapped Pokemon another Pokemon appears in the catching screen.
This mechanic can be applied when a Pokemon overlaps with Pokestop and Gym too.
This overlapping issue looks like Niantic doesn't care about it.

to answer the question from this video. i have never been to a pokemon gofest before. but the eindhoven city community is quite big. so if there is something like shadow mewtwo raid day to me that already feels like a gofest. man its so much fun. i will for sure one day visit a europe gofest. but im constantly visiting new villages, towns or cities in the netherlands or close to the border. its just so much fun tryin to find as many new pokestops. sometimes i find really good ones that i otherwise would have missed like the red model castle of the castle of helmond hehe.

if there was a go fest within Canada I would probably go to it, though its somewhat dependant on me still being financially stable when/if they ever had one in Canada, and also if they had stuff I was actually interested in during that specific event

Would love to go to an IRL Gofest, from what we get to see of content creators, it does look like an amazing experience to have. Harsh reality is different countries have different levels of cost of living, so for me personally, I simply can't justify the cost atm (just a single flight alone averages 3K to Japan for instance, so your entire cost for 2 Gofests spread over a month long trip, would barely cover a single Gofest lasting a week or 2 for me). Maybe one day Aussie will get a GoFest & the economy will be a little better, as flights there are a lot cheaper & do-able than flights to anywhere else lol.
Something I do wish Niantic would consider is being a little more even in their distribution of events- surely most countries could get a safari zone or themed event at least once every couple of years instead of it being the same places over & over again getting them & everyone else missing out altogether... I'm in New Zealand & about the only time we get non global events is when Niantic stuff up & we get some of another countries event spawns for an hour or 2.... which Niantic then generally remove from our accounts anyway, yet the few regionals we have here, seem to get handed out like candy to global players during their events, it just seems very lopsided- either region lock pokemon & force us to trade or travel to get them, or make all the region locked pokemon available everywhere global during events so everyone gets a chance to catch regionals they wouldn't otherwise get. That's my 2cents anyway.

I went to vegas hoenn tour and will go to nyc go fest. I went with my family. It was a blast and i do agree you will have random moments you will remember. Mine will be meeting mystic 7 and getting shiny feebas in a seebass restaurant. And meeting someone who claimed the had bad luck despite getting a shundo spinda and a shnundo. I would say it is fun but the novelty of seeing tens of thousands of people playing in an area begins to wear off and it can feel like a normal global shiny grind. Worth it imo but not sure id call it magical

Realistically, my best chances of going to in person events will be ones that are held in the UK. I went to London Go Fest and had an amazing time!
I hope that Niantic holds more events in the UK soon!

Do you think that the in person Go Fests this year are offering enough exclusive content compared to the Global one? The two events seem almost identical. I feel like the in person events should offer even more exclusive content to attendees, not just getting certain mons a few weeks earlier than other players.
Also the events themselves need some more diverse content. Seems like the creators who went to Sendai basically repeated the same city experience day after day. I’d like to see more content - maybe involve team rocket and let players toggle that on/off like they can with the rocket radar.

For the trip to Mexico, hope all goes well! I unfortunately cannot make it as I have doctoral school starting then. But I think for the next one it would be more exciting to get it piggybacked onto a GoFest… like maybe right before Madrid? In the same location so people will already be there and only leave a few days prior. Or somewhere around there. I think many who have summer off would rather it be in those months then the fall 😀

I have done 3 solo trips to Go Fest- seattle, Vegas, and NYC.
I have spoken to several players, but yes, it can be very lonely as most players are interverts. But since there is so much going on during the entire event, you don't feel it much. Also, there are tones of solo players. Not very many females like myself. BUT I never come out of the trip with regrets!

First Week Daily Player here. Lucky to travel a lot in life. Pokémon Go certainly enhances your experience if you are able to travel. I went to my first in person event last year in NYC. I live in American South but have friends who live in NYC so was able to stay for FREE. I also had flight credits but there was also a bunch of stuff that happened to be in NYC and the Jersey Shore that weekend I wanted to do. For all those reasons it was super worth it and a ton of fun! Also got some seriously rare Pokémon trading with strangers which was dope. Saw some RUclipsrs irl too which was an added bonus. I do agree with you - it really is person specific. I intently watch multiple RUclipsrs from each event and really have serious FOMO when I’m not there, especially since I got a taste of how excellent the events in person really are. 👏👏👏👏

I went to a Go Fest, but the only people who interacted with me were people asking (some demanding) I trade them regionals because they assumed I was from somewhere else. One person kept accusing me of lying when I said I lived there and didn't have other regionals. lol
It wasn't "social", but it was still fun.

On the topic of social anxiety: While teaching kiddos with special needs, my non-verbal students had cards to request certain rewards at the end of the day. I ended up forgetting one in my pocket at the end of the day. After grocery shopping, I went to pull out my card to pay, and ended up handing the cashier a Teletubbies card! I was so embarrassed, it took me months to go back to that store, but now I don't even remember what they look like.

This is a nice take, glad you mentioned social anxiety. Let me tell you - I'm autistic and have social anxiety. I've only been to Sevilla and Barcelona safaris (I'm from Spain) and even though it got a bit overstimulating and I was drained afterwards, I had a blast both times. Better the first time because I travelled with a group of friends, second time I went solo. Still worth it. Would've gone to NY if I could afford it, but well, we'll see next year's 😊

From just having attended Go Fest Madrid for my first in person event, it most definitely depends on your situation. Are you going alone, are you going with friends or are you going with family. Not only that but if you do go with other people, are they on the same page as you when it comes to playing Pogo. For my situation, i went with family intending on making it a family trip in conjunction with playing Pogo however, it did not go as intended. Dont get me wrong, it was amazing spending time with the family and seeing Madrid but they were not on the same page as me when grinding raids/shinies. i felt i fell a bit short when it came to raiding Necrozma. 80 raids and no Shiny!? wish i would have went a little harder on the raids but again going with Fam and them wanting to do other things made it a bit challenging to do raids.

Especially from experiences in High School where my counselor thought I was suicidal so really don't want to waste time and money on therapy even though my new uplifting friends I've met since moving last Halloween. That’s a me issue and it is what it is.
There are accessibility issues but that is dependent on the locale and not the position of Niantic

I've never been to an IRL go fest, but I've been to a "Go fest Global" In the local mall. It felt like an IRL Go fest though, and it was quite fun. Now that my friend bought my ticket it should be a wild time! Also i played in the local park recently and I saw someone with a Go ++ (as i was playing myself) but I did not know that person. How do you go up to someone and say "Hey I play pogo too want to play with me? I cant do that. Im also a free to play player. Until my friend asks if i want a ticket to go to go fest.
There was one time in Vermont, I can't remember the year, but it was the first time Enty (?) came out, everyone else got the pokemon but me. It was the first ever in person raid i've ever done, even though I didn't get it, it took us all. And when the Ultra beasts came out, it was a local raid but i just remember playing with everyone!
Also thank you for being you doll!
