The async part being constant, rising for a while, and then staying constant is one of the sounds on the M7. This similar pattern can be found on the Toei 5500 series, the Toei 6300 series, some Meitetsu trains, and even some trains with Hitachi 3-level IGBT inverters, like the JR West 223, and the Tobu 30000 series.

sounds the same/or very close to the Odakyu 3000 series trains. Please listen to them if you have time!

similar but not too close, M7 has like more phases and pitch changes, Odakyu 3000 series is more constant and linear

It's because they both use Mitsubishi IGBT-VVVF traction motors.

This sounds beautiful, I’m from the uk so I haven’t had a chance to hear these in person. Only in TSW. Sounds quite similar to the game but this is wayyyy better!
Quick question if anyone can answer? Why are most American trains not painted? They look a bit bland and boring personally compared to most other trains anywhere else.

      Paint is expensive.

Yeah we love our colours over in the uk. And smooth train bodies.

Its a way to combat graffiti, it’s easier and cheaper to remove on metal than repainting the entire train.

The LIRR propulsion sounds a bit different near the bogies

Might be useful to have a speedometer in front of the camera, to correlate sounds with speed

This train sounds really cool. Also, ever listen to a class 365? Or a class 387 in the uk? Sounds just as strange tbh

touche. and yea, most of the lirr m7s sound like someone unscrewed a few things in the truck and left it loose like that.
