Looking good man! Thank you for all the info. I found a cherry, all original 91 KDX250 with original tires, sprockets and chain that I have been working on the last couple months. Tore it down to the frame, Nikasil cylinder lining was deteriorated and pitted with age. Just got it back from Millenium, replated, forged piston, port job, high compression, 104 octane, 265cc. Went thru shock and forks, fresh grease for all chassis and suspension linkage and a ton of other stuff same as you. Excited to get it all back together. I was working on it just last night. Should be a pretty cool Retro trail bike. I Can't wait to see yours run.
Crazy find man, its tough to find good parts for these bikes. Sounds like she is going to be a ripper once you are done. my motor is still stock, but it had an overhaul not too long before i bought it so my main objective is just the cosmetic appeal. Might do some performance mods after i got it running and enjoyed it a bit.
@@gopro.antihero plastics are by far the hardest thing to find, i think only dc plastics still makes them www.dcvmx.com/xcart/product.php?productid=187668 The front number plate and fork guards off a 89 kx250 should work.
Wish they would've kept making the KDX250, and got more power out of it. The 200's and 220's are great bikes, but a little more torque is always welcome.
Hi, i am currently running Racecraft’s tyres, they will fit your bike. They are decent budget tyres. Front: Racecraft VGOOD 90/90-21 Rear: Racecraft VGOOD 110/100-18 You can get them here: emdonline.co.za
I found a 1992 KDX 250 with 3800 km. Do you think this is high mileage? I'm looking for something to ride on the trails and something that's going to last a long time.
What is the overall condition of the bike and how does it run? There is always a risk with used bikes, but if its still in good nic and runs good then i would just enjoy it. You can always pull the expansion chamber and have a look what the rings/barrel look like.

Yeah i love the 250 but finding parts is a bitch.
@@MudAndDustMoto I bet! Basically have to machine your own.
I had a chance to buy one of these but sourcing parts was hard I ended up going with a WR400F but kind of wished I held out for a KDX.
Yeah if you want a KDX250 its worth looking for a complete one.
Hi. What size tyres did you go for? And will it fit kdx200 '06? Can you please share model number/name etc of the tyre?

@@MudAndDustMoto Sadly the kdx250 sold. But I'm going to go look at a 2001 kdx220 with 25hrs on a full top and bottom end rebuild for $3200cad.
It might be a better option than the 250 anyways with parts being readily available.
anyone from south africa know good places to buy graphics and plastics
I would recommend Robert Co bud.
