I was a freezer embryo prior to implantation. Was awesome. As a result I like the AC cranked and love dark and small places.
But probably had somebody unplugged the freezer it wouldn’t have bothered me too much either.

Yeah Baby Louise (I think that’s her name) did interviews, I remember when we found out she was conceived!! But that was in the 70s or 80s, it’s old hat now.

A couple of things, 1. if you note the numbers on the upper left-hand corner of the paper, she is reading the bible quote from you would know that this is from a plaintiff affidavit filed two years ago and NOT from a ruling written by an Alabama supreme court justice.
2. The ruling actually doesn't give an embryo the same status as a child it gives it the same status as a fetus. Which means it is still perfectly legal to dispose of unwanted embryos, but it now just requires the permission of the parents first. Accidental embryo death is also still covered as long as the hospital uses best practices to try and reduce the chance of embryo death as much as possible.

I'm in UK, so I might be mistaken. I thought the US separated church & state, so that religion isn't involved in making or enforcing laws. But then a bible passage is used to justify a court decision re IVF. Did I get that wrong?
I don't care what religious beliefs anyone has, but when they use their position to force their religious views onto other people (again), something needs to be done. It's only a matter of time before contraception is banned at this rate.

Fertilized eggs basically. Not even implanted in the uterus, so zero percent chance of beginning to form a wee human until that happens, then it's not guaranteed.

Aren't they responsible for the safe handling of the eggs and embryos, tho? They should be held liable if they aren't handled properly and die or are no longer viable. That is the reason why people pay for and trust fertility clinics, right?

@@CChrist-mh4mk huh, can't see my earlier post. Ivf, in vitro fertilization, is used when a couple has difficulty conceiving. The process requires multiple embryos be implanted to increase the chance that one will develop into life. It fails fairly often, requiring multiple attempts.
