This was an awesome vid , man ! I'm self taught & know next to nothing "theory " wise & the few attempts i've made have kinda only make me realize why keep avoiding it I just end up confused .... This was a great help ! Thank you SO much !!! I forget the exact saying but "sometimes , simplifying something is the ultimate complexity" & you are great at this .

I’ve been watching a lot of your stuff, and I must say that this is it. This is the vid I needed. I’ve been peeking into theory, and this one nailed it. Thanks.
I’ve been drumming for a long time, and at 42, got into guitar about a year ago. I dig bands like Baroness, The Sword, The Atomic Bitchwax, etc. But also ZZ Top, The Stones, Deep Purple etc. I can play barre chords, power chords, cowboy chords, and some pentatonic. The question is- Where do I go from here? What should I focus on?

    • @axeofcreation
      @axeofcreation  4 года назад +2

Maybe try applying this concept and your knowledge of "some pentatonic" to the music you know. You can do the same thing with the Pentatonic scale, in my Drop D lesson, we'll turn that scale into chords. Take a Deep Purple song and "see" which scale and chords are being put to use. Let me know how that works.

    • @oneeyemonster3262
      @oneeyemonster3262 4 года назад

Stop with the RETARDED TERMs and Jargins.
KEYS are just PITCH. the same Old shiet happens in the key of C MAJOR/Amin
There's different ways to learn it...
      Counting from the NATURAL/relative minor.
      PUSH UP toward A MAJOR....
The MAJOR scale interval is just the REFERENCE interval.
      b3, b6, b7 = NATURAL min ( they;re also just the SECOND ARPEGGIOS
      of the 1, 4, 5 chords......
      Different scales creates different CHORDS.
You can BORROW, SUBSTITUTE, INSERT CHORDS or MODES.
But here are the SIMPLE FORMALA...
Like he said.....EVERY OTHER NOTE ...no matter the scales.
      A min........D min E min ( A Natural minor)
      A min D min E7 A harmonic min.....= aeo , maj7
      A min D7 E7 A melodic min.......= Aeo maj6, maj7
      A min B7 E Maj7 A melodic min #4 = Aeo #4, maj6, maj7
      A MAJ D min E7 A Harmonic MAJOR = Ion b6
      A MAJ D MAJ E7 A MAJOR
The same SHIET happens when you PUSH down from
      C MAJOR towards C min...
      Just REVERE the Process
      C MAJOR.................C Maj F Maj G7
      C Harmonic Maj C Maj F min G7
      C melodic min C min F7 G7
      C harmonic min C min F min G7
      C minor C min F min G min
      KEEP it SIMPLE STUPID
      G7 = G, B, D, F or B dim/G....or B dim into C.....MAJOR or min
      Do the SAME shiet....E7 = G# dim/E...G# dim into A MAJOR or A min
      just how SHiet turns out..
the 2, 4, b6, 7 CHORD DEGREE are all possible FULL diminished
When using HArmonic MAJOR and Harmonic minor....
In C Harmonic MAJOR or min....AND A Harmonic MAJOR or min
      C D dim........F dim...........Ab dim........B dim
      A B dim D dim F dim G# dim
You can use ANY dim chords to play into a CHORD or a different KEY
D dim into Eb MAJOR/C min.......F dim into F#min/A MAJOR
Augmented chords works in the same way....
      C, E, Ab or E, G#, C
      E augmented into F MAJOR/Dmin or G# augmented into A
More scale simply gives you MORE OPTIONS...
      Such as A min B7 into E Maj7....( it's E Harmonic MAJOR inverted)
A melodic min #4 is the same interval as LYDIAN b3...
      it's the 4th CHORD.....as in possible diminished.
      So you can do this,,,,
      A dim C dim into C# min/E MAJOR....instead of B7 into E MAJOR..all the time
      It just do happens....G# phyrgian b4. A lydian b3 B mix b2..
You can alter the G# into G#7...
      It's the same old shiet G# 7 into C# min.....or C dim/G#
      The other scales....such as
      A Harmonic min b2 or A melodic min b2
You can make the Bb as Bb maj7 or Bb7 or Bb dim or Bb aug
If you play D double harmonic min you can make it Bb min7 and Bb min/ma7
      Keep it SIMPLE STUPID.
      Start with Bb maj7.....as
      IV, or I chord.......Bb lyfdan to F MAJOR/D min
      Bb ion to G min
      Bb7 into Eb MAJOR/C min...
In other words....it'll help you CYCLE down to the 4th....
      You can also do this,,,
      A min Bb7 C7 into F melodic min to F min/Ab MAJOR
      or A min Bb dim into B min/D MAJOR...or A min D min E min F#7 into Bmin
or A min Bb dim C dim into C# melodic min to C# min/E MAJOR...
I show that for REASON...It just happens
C# Harmonic min b2 or Melodic min b2
After you CIRCLE UP to E MAJOR.....use the N6 to help
      you cycle BACK DOWN
      C# min....D Maj7 E7 ( A MAJOR/F#min
      C# min D Maj7/Bmin
      C# min D7 E7
      C# min D dim E dim F melodic min....
      C# min D dim E7....
Notice the OVER lap if you use A Harmonic , melodic min...ect
You cam also play the CYCLE of DOMINANTS
      B7 into E7 into A7 into D7 into G7 into C7 into F7 into Bb7 into Eb7 into Ab7
      into Db7 into Gb7 into B7....
You just get used to BOOROWING different chords or ALTERING them
DIFFERENT WAYs.....( there's no right way or wrong way...
      example.....
      C Maj D7 into G min.....C min D dim E7 into A min/C MAJOR..
I borrow the D7....but play that into the G min chord...
      Pretend I was in G min.....C min D min.....E7 into A min....
      Notice when I showed A min D min E min F#7 into B min...
It's the SAME OLD shiet...just in different PITCH

Like doing seconds but doing root then 1st inversion on the next one then 2nd inversion the repeating it till you get back to the original root scale to create more of a chordal harmony

@@redrumkiller213 why do you want to mind fu$k yourselve??? with Jurkins....I showed you the FULL diminished and augmented for reasons...it dosnt matter how you inverted it.
But...if you want to go there......I'll show you.
      EVERY OTHER NOTE.....yes????
KEYS are just PITCH....You can use the fret board like a
slide RULER or move able BARR chords concept....yes?
      C, E, G, B.....C maj7 or E min/C
      F, A,C,E F Maj7 or A min/F
Play the F maj7 BARR CHORD shape at the 8th fret...
      Play it less the F note......or C, 3, 6.....it's an INVERTED A min chord...
I dont care...I'll play with open A string or NOT.
STACK whatever notes Below or above it....( it's all optional to me)
Now apply the same concept to B Maj7, C Maj7
      F,3, 6...( inverted D min) .or G, 3, 6......( inverted E min)
      I can play A min Bbmaj7 C maj7....it'll sound as If
I play A min D min...E min.....( or i can use it for Cadence)
      Bb maj7 is just the A harmonic b2( N6 chord)...even if I just
      INSERT it.......
The F chord is a possible F min.....
from C Harmonic MAJOR or A harmonic min....yes???
      The C# maj7 = sort of INVERTED F min...yes.
Play G#, 3, 6......play the F note with my Picnky or NOT
or play the C# maj7 barr chord....
      so i can do this.... A min Bb maj7 C maj7 C# maj7 G7 into C MAJOR....
Lets Expand on that.....( the #6 or augment 6 lesson)
Its just C DOuble harmonic min VAMP over C MAJOR
      so you'll get Ab lydian #2, #6
( REMERBER I show you that in D double harmonic min)
      Lets do this firsr
      A min....Bb7 A7 into D MAJOR
      or
      A min C maj7 Bb7 A7 into D MAJOR/Bmin
It's the same shiet in a different PITCH....
      Ab maj7 G7 into C MAJOR
or the Ab ITALIIAN, FRENCH, GERMAN
      Play A min BbMaj C maj7 C# maj7 Ab7 G7 into C MAJOR
They just want you to learn how to play this....Ab7 into G7 into C....
I showed you it as Ab maj7 for reasons or just Ab Maj...it's in lots of songs..
      But you can do this....
Ab Maj7 ( Barr chord shape ..4th fret)
      Play C Maj F maj G Maj Ab Maj7 into E7 into A min
      or like this....
      C Maj into F min ( chord) G Maj Ab Maj BbMaj C MAJOR.lol
The F min, Ab Maj Bb Maj are Borrowed from Paralllel C min...
You dont have to play all those chords...
      Play G maj...Ab maj....Bb Maj C MAJOR... ( so you'll hear it)
      or C Maj C maj7 ( E min) A min....Ab Maj Bb Maj C MAJOR.
      sorry I missed type...anywho..
      The C# Maj7 chord.....
It can also be apply as the N6...
I can also apply it AFTER the MAJOR's TONIC...
      Notice it's relation to C#/Db into D....or G#/Ab into A. ( different PITCH)
it ovet laps....in a lot of different ways....
I could simply play C Maj C# dim into D minor
or A min B dim C# dim into D minor.
      or play A7 into D min C#7 , C7 into F MAJOR...
but let say I see the D chord as just min chord
Play in A MAJOR ( to start) to A Harmonic MAJOR
      C# phrygain b4. D lydian b3 E mix b2 F ly #5, #2...
      I can simply play A MAJOR....hammer the sus4...ect
      Play the C#7 ( 4th fret..C#, 3, b7...Hammer the octave with my pinky..
      or even play it as C# aug.....C 3, b6....b7
Then play F# minor penta...or whatever....bluesy double stops or whatever..
      into the F# min chord...
      Then Play F# min....B7.....C#7 ( F# melodic min) ( with the open top B and E..if I want.
      Then Play D dim chord ( lydian b3.....then E7 into A MAJOR..
Then Bb dim C# dim into D MAJOR or minor. (KEYS or just a D chord)
I simply apply the Bb dim as the N6 as dim after that A MAJOR's tonic...
but play it as FULL....Bb dim C# dim into D HARMONIC min
Or A Major....B dim C# dim into D melodic minor
i can even play F as Augmented lydian augmented #2...or F min or dim into A MAJOR.....
      If i use the D HuNGARIAN MAJOR...it's just F# Harmonic min b5
      More options...
The Interval is mix #2, #4 or lydian #2, b7 or lydian dominant #2.
      or Ion #2, #4, b7
      I can stack it....
      1, 3, 5, b7 or 1, #2, 5, b7......Major or min....min7 or dominant
      1, #2, #4...dim......1,#2, #4, 6 Full dim....or 1, #2, #4, b7 Half dim
You DONT always have to stack it every other note...

@@redrumkiller213 Music theory is alot EASIER than most people makes
      it....Leave out the Jergins...
To apply it to the fretboard...it's EASIER to COMPREHEND if you
learn the FRETBOARD in C MAJOR/Amin...at first.
Simply becuase KEYS are just PITCH....All the circle 5th
dose is help keyboard players play the SAME MAJOR scale in
      12 DIFFERENT PITCH...
You can simply SLIDE everything down ONE fret...from A min/C MAJOR
      to G#min/B Major.....it's a cluster Fu4k on PAPER
and sort of a BITECH to play on the KEYBOARD.
If you want to learn how to play the GUITAR...take lessons from
GUITAR PLAYERS.....learn how the make BARR chords or shapes..
That's what FRETS are MADE for....and STANDARD tuning is
also DESIGNed for you play PLAY Barr chords EASIER
It's also EASIER on the FRETBOARD if you learn INTERVALS.
The MODES TERMs are simply INTERVAL IDENTIFICATIONS..
It donst matter if you call it Phrygian DOMINANT, Spanish GYpSy,
Phrygian, Maj3....it's still going to have the SAME INTERVAL..
You can see it as ....Mix b2, b6 or Ion b2 ,b6, b7.
Sort of like the MELODIC minor scale..
you can see it as ION b3 or DORIAN, maj7
If you learn INTERVALs...it'll be FASTER for you to LEARN DIFFERENT
scale and the MODES within them....SIMPLY by SHIFTING a NOTE or two
There's different ways I can show you how to OBTain the different SCALEs ( it's cool if you learn it DIFFERENT ways...so you learn
how to APPLY it differents ways...MODULATE between KEYS or scales
      different WAYS...such as while in C MAJOR/Amin...
      Play F7....G7 into C min.....or play C Maj, C# dim into D min
      or do this...C Maj G Maj A7 into D min....Then E7 into A min..ect
      or A min B dim C# dim into D min E min F Aug G7 into C MAJOR
I modulated to D melodic min.
The E min is the ii chord of D melodic min..( DORIAN b2)
Then G7 ( mix #4 IV of D melodic min) to simply play into C MAJOR, again
or apply the D double harmonic min ( or D lydian b3/melodic min #4)
      D min E7 into A min...
A min is in A phrygian to D min....
      I can simply play A Harmonic min b2 ( A phrygian , maj7)
      or I can play E Melodic min b2 ( dorian b2, Maj7)
here's DIFFERENT WAYs Im going to list the DIFFERENT SCALES
