In fact, the pope claims that he is the God here on earth because the pope is the vicar of Christ in earth.

and the adventist church didnt come up with that
all the protestant christians exposed the pope as anti christ
daniel said antichrist would begin when the roman empire would be divided
and end when jesus would return
that means antichrist is a position which only the pope fulfills its timeline

My friend is a seventh day Adventist and I was kinda shocked to learn that. First of all I didn’t know that “religion” existed until I met her. There were many things she mentioned that really bothered me like how Catholics changed the Ten Commandments. I remember showing her your video about the two lists of the Ten Commandments. She just kept shaking her head and said things like “just bc some guy on RUclips says it is doesn’t make it true.” And I remember last year I asked her if she wanted to come to my house for lunch to celebrate Easter and she said “girl! We don’t celebrate easter!” My mind was blown. I was like ummm isn’t the whole point of Christianity? I was so confused LOL. Since then I’ve decided to learn more about the Catholic faith so I can defend it. I’m learning so much!! Thank you for all that you do!! God bless!

"Easter" is a pagan influenced "Holiday". Originally it was a festival celebration honoring the pagan Goddess Aester, hence the name:
"The pagan goddess behind the holiday of ‘Easter’
Most languages use Aramaic to describe Jesus’s resurrection. Why is English different?
Why do only English speakers celebrate “Easter”? Most other peoples of the world call the holiday observed by Christians this Sunday by some variant of the word “Pascha.” (Eastern Orthodox churches will observe the holiday on April 12.)
Blame it on a woman - and no ordinary woman at that - a goddess.
As recounted by the English monk Bede, the 7th-8th century “father of English history,” the former pagans in England called April, or the month marking Jesus’s resurrection, “Ēosturmōnaþ” - Old English for the “Month of Ēostre.”
According to Bede in his “De temporum ratione” (“The Reckoning of Time”), the Christian holiday “was called after a goddess of theirs named Ēostre, in whose honor feasts were celebrated in that month.”
Ēostre is variously depicted by scholars as a fertility goddess and a goddess of dawn and light. The dawn connection could explain a linguistic link between Ēostre and the word “east.”
An academic and a Christian missionary, Bede’s reference to Ēostre (or Ostara) is textually unique, to the extent that many throughout the centuries have asserted it was fabricated. It was only in the 1950s that archeological evidence was found supporting his claim of such a goddess in England. But recently, work was done at the University of Leicester on place names and their connections to Ēostre, which, arguably, buttress Bede’s version.
In almost every other international language, the holiday is called by some permutation of “Pesach,” the Hebrew word for the Passover holiday/sacrifice.
According to an essay by Hebrew University Prof. Steven Fassberg, during the period of history marking the birth of the Christian church, both Hebrew and Aramaic were used in the Galilee, where Jesus’s ministry was based. In Aramaic, the holiday is called “Pascha.”
The Hebrew word “pesach” is a noun, but it can also be inflected as a verb to mean, depending on the biblical context, “skip over” in a physical sense (according to rabbinical scholar Rashi), or more spiritually as “spare” (as used in the Aramaic translation by Roman convert to Judaism Onkelos in the first century CE).
The authors of the Septuagint, the translation of the Hebrew Bible into Greek completed in 132 BCE, also used the more spiritual connotations of the word, as in to save or to hide. This Greek version of the Old Testament was eventually used by most early Christians in the Roman Empire.
The Gospel of John, written in Greek around the first-second century CE, goes further and uses the Passover motif in calling Jesus the “lamb of God” - an allusion to the priestly Passover sacrifice on Jerusalem’s Temple Mount.
Interestingly, only the Hebrew noun “Pesach” is transmitted to Aramaic, not the verb forms, where it begins to take on a further meaning - the Christian observance of Jesus’s resurrection.
Today, Modern Hebrew has readopted the Aramaic word “Pascha” to mean the Christian celebration of Jesus’s resurrection, not the Jewish Passover.
So how is it that one of the two major Christian holidays was named by Anglo Saxons after a pagan deity? And how is it that this name was not only tolerated, but eventually became its normative moniker throughout the English-speaking world?
According to the 1835 “Deutsche Mythologie” by Jacob Grimm, “This Ostarâ, like the [Anglo-Saxon] Eástre, must in heathen religion have denoted a higher being, whose worship was so firmly rooted, that the Christian teachers tolerated the name, and applied it to one of their own grandest anniversaries.”
In other words, early Church fathers seemed to take the tack that if you can’t beat them, join them - and “usurp” an existing holiday for Christian purposes.
Historically Easter is not the first instance of a pagan ritual described by Bede that is now imbued with Christian meaning. Also in “The Reckoning of Time,” Bede describes the Anglo-Saxon Pagans’ “Mōdraniht,” (Old English for “Night of the Mothers”) that was held on December 24, or Christmas Eve.
Many Christians are uncomfortable in acknowledging the Easter holiday’s pagan name. Others are taking a more philosophical approach and making a valiant effort to rebrand it. “In an attempt to honor God, many have desired to move away from the term Easter, using Resurrection Day in its place,” writes one website.
That's why Christians do not celebrate Easter, only PAGANIZED ones do.

The Catholic Church did not tamper with the Ten Commandments. The list that the Catholic church has has been the same list all Christians have used back until the 4th century. Protestants changed list in the 16th century.
The issue is that Protestants, Catholics, and Jews all have the same Ten Commandments and obey the same Ten Commandments, but we just number them and separate them differently. For example, Protestants say that we took out the second commandment which is not to worship any idols. But we don't believe that's the second commandment, we believe that's part of the first commandment which is not worshipping false gods. They separate the first commandment into two separate Commandments when it shouldn't be. We have a video on this too if you would like more information. ruclips.net/video/Hy5G-PNFnzQ/видео.html

This is not directed ad hominem against Ellen G. White per se. Because she is one of the most quoted anti-Catholic voice, we have to understand her background.
She is the prophetess of the Seventh Day Adventist, had 'prophetic visions' while in trance.
Her father was a farmer and the family was also into the business making hat using Mercuric Nitrate. That was noted in history books, probably to give those familiar with the effect of the substance, the idea why she was 'seeing' visions which her SDA followers take as prophecies. Mercuric Nitrate can cause lunacy.

Hi I am a school going girl in a Catholic school. It just happens that a seventh day Adventist has been bothering Catholics. She calls us Idol worshipers , tells us we pray to Mary and claims that we follow man’s doctrine and not God’s doctrine. I tried everything. I had studied a lot from you and other sources and I was able to debunk her false accusations. I even gave her the book for Catechism and put a star on which topics she was to read first. That was unnecessary Because she read it a few times only. I was finally convinced that that was what she had been taught in her church so it clang to her mind and there was nothing I could do to change her mentality. Luckily we had a PPI and a deacon was our teacher. The girl sat next to me and well she stared arguing so and so. The deacon was either ignorant or had already been to that path before. As the girl explained, ‘’he didn’t give me the right answers.’’ I also felt that way a bit but I knew that the deacon had to be wise. When things heated up, he left. Then she kept being bitter and calling us names. We had really thought that she would stop but we were wrong. When we were about to close schools she told me that she wanted a debate; that she would bring her Bible and notebooks. I told her that my heart was aching and that I was tired. I also mentioned that I would not argue with her. This was in fact the truth. She looked disappointed but I knew that it was best not to argue with a fool, who in this case, is one who is reluctant to change and one who doesn’t wish to hear all that is true. This experience was painful and sorrowful to my heart. That’s why I understand your bitterness and rage at the end. God bless.

When it comes to converting people, God has to be the one to do the heavy lifting! Have pity on her too because she honestly doesn't know any better. She is just brainwashed again and again by her church and what they tell her. Some day, she may come around. God bless.

@@peskyjesuit9021 where does it say in the Bible to pray to Mary and saints? They are dead “resting” and they know nothing.
      John 11:11-14
11 After saying these things, he said to them, “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I go to awaken him.” 12 The disciples said to him, “Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will recover.” 13 Now Jesus had spoken of his death, but they thought that he meant taking rest in sleep. 14 Then Jesus told them plainly, “Lazarus has died.

Why do you pray to Mary if she isn't a mediator?
Catechism of the Catholic Church 2679
Mary is the perfect Orans (prayer), a figure of the church. When we pray to her, we are adhering with her to the plan of the Fath, who sends his Son to save all men. Like the beloved disciple we welcome Jesus’ mother into our homes, for she has become the mother of all the living. We can pray with and to her. The prayer of the church is sustained by the prayer of Mary and united with it in hope.

1- William Miller was never an Adventist
2- It was Emperor Constantine who decreed that Christians should no longer keep the Sabbath and keep only to Sunday (the latter part of the first day of the week) calling it the "Venerable Day of the Sun".
3-Malachi Martin believed satanic rituals had been carried out in the Vatican by clergy who had entered into a conspiracy with Freemasons and others to establish a new world order (Windswept House, 1996).
He also believed the church to be under threat from Marxists, a theme explored in The Final Conclave (1978).
4-“Pachamama” has become the new Catholic insider. The Pachamama is a female fertility figure, representing Mother Earth, venerated by peoples in the Andes and portions of the Amazon
5- Martin Luther came to reject several teachings and practices of the Roman Catholic Church. He strongly disputed the claim that freedom from God’s punishment for sin could be purchased with money, proposing an academic discussion of the practice and efficacy of indulgences in his Ninety-five Theses of 1517.
6-"God sees to the fruits of our labors," Pope Francis said during his whirlwind U.S. tour. "And if at times our efforts and works seem to fail and produce no fruit, we need to remember that we are followers of Jesus ... and His life, humanly speaking, ended in failure, the failure of the cross."
The pontiff's words stir questions for Christians who believe in the saving power of the gospel, which declares Christ's sacrifice the greatest victory-not abject failure.
7-Pope Francis has aligned himself with Universalist Unitarian churches and other religions which deny the inerrancy of Scripture. I have never heard this pope speak of sin and repentance. Actually, I’ve not heard any pope speak of these essentials of our faith! But Pope Francis takes this to a whole new level. See what this universalist website writes about this pope whom they love:
“If the Pope embraces reconciliation with Candomblé, with real, human, interface between leaders, why shouldn’t Catholics also embrace practitioners of Vodou? Or indigenous African religions? Or modern Paganism, for that matter? Indeed, the Pope’s new attitude is needed more now than ever before.
8- Seventh Day Adventists do not hate catholic people
9-The true catholic people are very upset with your church
10-Please study the Holy Bible (The True Word of God)

Christian's long before Constantine were worshiping on Sunday. We even put quotes in the video which you clearly didn't watch. But it proved that Christians were worshiping on Sunday long before Constantine. And they were talking about the resurrection of the Lord on Sunday long before Constantine.
You still haven't given us his full verse from anyone in the New Testament telling us to keep the Sabbath day. Not from Jesus, the apostles, or anyone else. Because it's not there. All of the other Ten Commandments are reiterated and taught in the New Testament, all except the Sabbath.
We know what pachamama is, and that dumb act not just prove the Catholic church that Jesus started.
If you haven't heard Pope Francis speak on the essentials of the faith, then you probably haven't listened to him very much. You should probably listen to his homilies and remarks more. A lot of your remarks are opinions about Pope Francis, and none of them disprove the Catholic Church. The Catholic church that was started by Christ as opposed to The Seventh-Day Adventist Church which was started by a woman in the 1800s who was not Christ.
Martin Luther it was incorrect and erroneous in many of his 95 Theses, which is why John Eck wrote over 130 theses back to him correcting his errors. Martin Luther wanted to throw seven New Testament books out of the Bible and didn't even believe that Hebrews were Revelation was inspired. And this is the first you are trying to use to substantiate an argument?
Classic. Quoting the pope out of context. Not very honest or intellectual. The pope was saying that according to the world the death of Jesus was a failure. According to Catholics LOL. But he went on to say that Jesus rose from the dead and lives forever more.
Every church has problems, in Jesus even said that there would be weeds and wheat in the church. So just because there are some bad people in the church it doesn't disprove the church. And Catholics don't hate Seventh-day Adventist, but we feel bad for them because they are duped. They bought a false religion founded by a woman 1800s years after Jesus already started his church. They're just one of countless churches in 1800s like the Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, the Church of God, the Church of Christ, and countless others who all believe that they are the true restored Christianity. Except you all contradict each other what you all think you're right. But you're all man-made churches. Anyway, thanks for the comment. Please study the Bible more and history.

      1) If he wasn't, why is his home ( now chapel) under the care of the board of Seventh Day Adventists?
      2) this is poor revisionist history. Constantine's dealings with the Church were one of expanding tolerance towards it and allowing the Church freedom to worship opening, ie Edict of Milan. Many sources ( pagan, early Christian and Jewish) affirm that Christians had been having Mass on the first day of the week, so called "the Lord's Day".
      3) if the Catholic Church is the true Church of Christ, one would expect for Satan to do the same thing he did with Judas: attempt to infiltrate and destroy. This in no wise contradicts Christ, as our Lord states that the "tares must grow with the wheat".
      4) sometimes bridge building can be sloppy.
      5) Martin Luther war grossly incorrect. His theology was a historic break, not a renovation. Furthermore, the Church addressed abuses at Trent. It's note worthy that Luther realized the deviousness of Sola Scriptura when he complained about so many sects arising.
      6) the Apostle Paul even stated that "the preaching of the cross is foolishness to those whom are perishing".
      7) Interesting. You've not listened to his( or Benedict or JPII) homilies.
      8) yet you guys continually perpetuate lies, accusations and false history against us. That's called false witness.
      9) I'm a convert and I love the Church my Lord founded. I'm upset with Protestantism, though, for deluding people away from it.
      10) The Bible isn't meant to be used as a reference guide to dissect. It was promulgated by the 3rd century though to be read at Mass. Throughout the course of human history, until recently, literacy rates and en masse publication via printing press was untenable. Furthermore, in amassing a theological framework that even the Encyclopedia Brittanica labeled as "sophisticated", the Catholic Church is the most adept association of biblical scholars in history. Men like St. Augustine, St. Thomas Aquinas and even Pope Benedict XVI would disagree with you greatly.
I pray you open your mind and follow Christ as He intended.

The last book was written around 100ad, yet no Catholic mentioned at all by Bible writers. This is what the Word of God says.
(Acts 11:26 KJV) And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch. Those assembled with the church are called Christians. This pretty simple to understand. ( It's not about feelings)
      Paul was a Christian
(Acts 26:28 KJV) Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.
      Peter was a Christian.
(1 Peter 4:16 KJV) Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.
There is no biblical support that Christ founded Catholicism. Or even mentioned "universal". Show me a verse in scripture that supports your claim. (Isaiah 8:20 KJV) To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

    2 Timothy 2:15
[15]Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
    Acts 17:11
[11]These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
    Hebrews 4:12
[12]For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
    2 Timothy 3:15-16
[15]And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

That's like giving everyone in the United States their own personal copy of the Constitution and telling them they can interpret it. There will be thousands of different understanding of it. That's why Jesus gave us a church to guide us even in the interpretation of scripture. The church is the pillar and foundation of truth.

Jesus started the Catholic Church, a teaching and preaching authoritative Church in the Rock of Peter and the apostles (Mt. 16:18-19, Mt. 18:15-18, 1 Cor. 12:28-30). He did not start a bible only church which removes all of the Protestant denominations. Rather he trained the disciples to be the leaders of the Church and gave them his authority (Mt. 28:19-20, Jn. 20:21-23) and said we 'must' listen to them. If we don't listen to this authority, then we reject Christ himself (Lk. 10:16, Heb. 13:17, 1 Thess. 5:12-13). They also passed on their authority to others through the laying on of hands. The church that Jesus started was teaching and preaching, correcting and reproving, and making doctrine before the New Testament even begun to be written (Acts. 16:4-5; Acts. 11:1-15; 1 Tim. 5:11; Eph. 4:11-12 and many more).
When you realize that Jesus didn't start a Bible only religion but started a teaching and preaching church, you will realize that it's the Catholic Church, the only church that goes back 2000 years to the first century. This was the same church that made and canonized the Bible in the first place.

The seed has been sown, and now it will spring up and bear fruit. The publications distributed by missionary workers have exerted their influence, yet many whose minds were impressed have been prevented from fully comprehending the truth or from yielding obedience. Now the rays of light penetrate everywhere, the truth is seen in its clearness, and the honest children of God sever the bands which have held them. Family connections, church relations, are powerless to stay them now. Truth is more precious than all besides. It doesn't say anywhere in Genesis that God commanded all of humanity to observe the the 7th day of the week as a sabbath. But in Exodus it's recorded that God gave Moses the commandments on Mt.Sinai to give to the Hebrew people as a covenant between THEM and Him. In that list of commandments is the requirement to observe a 7th day sabbath as part of THEIR covenant. Are you Jewish? Are you under the Mosaic Law of the Old Covenant? Yes or no?

New Testament, "Rock" is used only for Jesus Christ (Matt 21:42 -Isa. 28:16-1 Cor .3:11; 10:4; Eph. 2:20; 1 Peter 2:6-8). Paul never said it was Peter and Peter never said it was himself. Peter and Paul both agree and promoted the rock as Christ.
The Catholic church has been using this one scripture (Mt.16:18) to interpret the many (even though Peter says the rock is Christ). However, the many “other Scriptures” teach us how to interpret the “one Scripture.” The whole of the New Testament refutes this concept and even Peter himself does not agree with them. Who speaks for the apostles? Popes that have made this a doctrine or the apostles and Peter who delivered the teaching to the church? This is not about a Protestant position but a biblical one.
The key to understanding this is the relationship between the name "Peter" and the word "rock." The Catholic church has done much amplification of this particular passage. The Roman Catholic church has taught that Peter was the first pope and he was the rock upon which Jesus was to build the church. Peter becomes the foundation upon which the church was built and from him there is a continuous line of popes through apostolic succession. Therefore, according to Catholicism, the conclusion is: the Roman Catholic church is the only true church and only the Roman Catholic church can properly interpret the Scriptures.
The Catholics main argument is that Jesus spoke Aramaic. The New Testament and Matthew’s gospel was written in Greek. No matter what original language it was spoken in, Matthew determined the meaning by the Greek language. And Matthew’s gospel was not first written in Aramaic and then was translated into Greek, as some suppose. Actually, it does not matter what language Jesus spoke in, whether Aramaic or Hebrew. The Bible is the inspired word of God for all people and it is written in Greek by the apostles because this was the most common used language in the world at that time. The apostles were there as witnesses of Jesus’ teachings and events, and what they wrote is infallible and should not be changed. According to John 14:26; 16:13, the Holy Spirit guided all the apostles into all truth, which includes the language and word choice (1 Cor. 2:4).

    • @CatholicTruthOfficial
      @CatholicTruthOfficial  3 года назад +4

Thanks for the comment, but you are unfortunately guilty of a litany of errors. Peter is called Rock by both Jesus and Paul in the new Testament. (1 Cor. 1:12; 3:22; 9:5 Jn. 1:42; etc. Cephas is the transliterated word for Rock, from the Aramaic.)
Second, Jesus spoke Aramaic and Matthew was written in Aramaic. Even Protestant scholars admit that the Aramaic in Matthew is unmistakable. For example, W. F. Albright, eminent Protestant scholar and internationally regarded as the Dean of biblical studies. He writes, Jesus does not quote the Old Testament but here uses Aramaic, not Hebrew, and so uses the only Aramaic word that would serve his purpose. Thus, one must dismiss as confessional interpretation, any attempt to see this rock as meaning the faith or the messianic confession of Peter. To deny the preeminent position of Peter among the disciples or in the early Christian community is a denial of the evidence. … The interest in Peter’s failures and vacillation’s does not detract from his preeminence, rather it emphasizes it. Had Peter been a lesser figure, his behavior would have been of far less consequence. The Anchor Bible: Matthew page 195.
Second, even if it wasn't, the Greek still calls peter Rock. Everything calls Peter Rock including the unanimous consent of the earliest Christians. Jesus is the ultimate Rock and cornerstone, just as Jesus is the ultimate foundation, as Scripture says, but it also calls the Apostles the foundation in Revelation.

Christ told Peter in John 21:16 “Feed my Sheep” Peter was the under Shepherd to Christ but not the rock the Church was built on; Peter said himself that Christ was the Chief cornerstone(1 Peter 2:6) Peter cannot be the rock of the Church because He was not in harmony with God’s purpose when he spoke the thought of Satan about Christ suffering and crucifixion(Matt 16:21) Farther-more The gates of hell did prevail against Peter when he denied his Lord with cursing and swearing. SDA's are basically fundamentalist protestants with strong roots from Methodists, Baptists and Presbyterians. What differs from main stream Protestantism are beliefs around the three SSS.
The second coming, State of the dead and the adherence of Seventh day Sabbath in accordance with Jewish practice. They also have a strong eschatological focus based on the book of Daniel and Revelation. The SDA's see themselves prophetically as the church of Laodicea referenced in Rev 3:14-22. Other than that they are quite orthodox believing in the Trinity. They even have a Christmas tree in their church during Christmas. As for their anti Catholic beliefs, its no different to most Protestant denominations. What is interesting about the SDA's is their study of the Sanctuary service in the Old Testament as a type looking forward to Christs sacrifice on Calvary.

I became an Adventist out of studying the Bible, going through each book and connecting each doctrine verse by verse. EGW was only a small part of my becoming an Adventist. As a history enthusiast, I studied the history of the Catholic Church and the more I studied it the more I was appalled at it’s horrific history and corruption and lack biblical truth!
You say we are not biblical yet the second Vatican counsel says that the pagan god of Islam is the same as God of the Bible
Secondly, the reason why Martin Luther came to juggernaut with the church was because of the non biblical selling of indulgences. Which the church continues to this day!
Third, the Spanish Inquisition that tortured and burnt people at the stake for such heresies as keeping the seventh day sabbath!
Fourth, the Ten Commandments of the Roman catechism had altered the Ten Commandments of the Bible
They removed the second commandment that says not to worship idols and split the tenth in half. The audacity to think the church can change God’s law in order to be able to bow down to statues of dead people!
Fifth, Catholicism is a religion of the dead!
The Bible says that the dead sleep until the resurrection (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17) Ecclesiastes 9:5 says that the dead no nothing Deuteronomy 18:12 says to talk to the dead is a sin called necromancy.
Mary and the saints are dead and NOT in heaven. Only Enoch, Elijah, Moses and Jesus are in heaven!
Sixth, the church abrogates it’s own doctrines such as doing away with limbo! Limbo was not in the Bible to begin with, but shows how over the years the church through the magisterium has made things up as they went along
Seventh, the Bible says repent and you’ll be saved, but in the vulgate, and the Jesuit Bible it says do penance instead.
In the Bible the word metenoia means to turn around or changed your thinking.
Penance means voluntary self punishment as a sign of repentance. The Bible doesn’t say that.
Eighth, the church had hunted down anyone who kept the seventh day sabbath such as the inquisition in Goa in 1560. People were burnt at the stake.

"the pagan god of Islam is the same as God of the Bible "
Islam believes in the One God of the Old Testament, the God revealed to Moses, the God of Abraham, YHWH. Hence they understand WHAT God is. So same God, but they fail however to understand WHO God is, revealed in the New Testament as three persons.
      "the Bible "
Interesting. Open your bible to the table of contents. This list is not found in scripture anywhere, neither for the Old nor New Testament. Those who decided _your_ Old Testament were 16th c Catholic men with no authority. Those who decided your New Testament, 27 writings out of 300+ early Christian writings was the 4th c Catholic Church, Bishops meeting in Synods and Council, first at the Council of Rome in 382. They also declared the OT to have 46 writings.
      Lots of inconsistencies for SDAs.
      1. all those above worshiped on Sunday (the Lord's Day, the Day of Resurrection), none held to the Sabbath (which prefigured out resting in Christ)
      2. you tacitly trust in the authority of the Catholic Church on the NT, but believed they errored on the OT
      3. and those 4th Bishops all celebrated the Mass, believing through their words of consecration, the bread and wine transformed into the resurrected Christ.
      4. and the table of contents makes this SDA Church statement completely erroneous:
_Seventh-day Adventists accept the Bible as the ONLY source of our beliefs_
Even more so when those who you trust didn't hold to the Sabbath, and one authority - for your New Testament - is the 4th c Catholic Church (long after Constantine !!).

Refute this: In my readings this morning I noticed an interesting phrase used over and over through scripture. It concerns the day we call Sunday. The name for that day is never used in scripture. Genesis 1:5 calls it “…the first day”, in Hebrew “yom”. But the new testament verses that refer to that day, the day we call Sunday, the verses people try to use to say the day ordained by God for corporate worship was changed from the 7th day Sabbath to the Sunday, everywhere from Matthew 28:1 to 1 Corinthians 16:2, all say “…the first of the week”. The word “day” was not included in the original text but was added later by those who translated scripture from Hebrew to English. The “first of the week”. It doesn’t even say “day”. It is intentionally vague. The “first of the week” could mean “near the first of the week”, even Monday or Tuesday. We call those days “near” the first of the week. The Bible never uses the word “Sunday”, ever. And nowhere in scripture is there instruction given, by God or man, to “forget” worship on Sabbath and begin worship on Sunday. Romans 16:17-19 says “Now I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who create divisions and obstacles that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Turn away from them. For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naïve. Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I rejoice over you. But I want you to be wise about what is good and innocent about what is evil.”. It warns against things “contrary” to what they had been previously taught. If they were previously taught to keep Sunday and remember it as Gods chosen day, where were they taught it? Where are we taught it? The teaching to keep Sunday is a teaching of the catholic church, plain and simple. You will find the teaching nowhere in Holy Scripture. If you claim to follow the teaching of the Bible and the Bible alone, and you keep Sunday as your corporate day of worship, you are inconsistent. The Bible teaches to “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy”. The 7th day Sabbath, not Sunday. It’s not even mentioned in the Bible! Blessings as you study God’s Word.

(Matthew 16:18). It holds that he had authority (primacy) over the other apostles. The Roman Catholic Church maintains that sometime after the recorded events of the book of Acts, the Apostle Peter became the first bishop of Rome, and that the Roman bishop was accepted by the early church as the central authority among all of the churches. It teaches that God passed Peter’s apostolic authority to those who later filled his seat as bishop of Rome. This teaching that God passed on Peter’s apostolic authority to the subsequent bishops is referred to as “apostolic succession.”
The Roman Catholic Church also holds that Peter and the subsequent popes were and are infallible when addressing issues “ex cathedra,” from their position and authority as pope. It teaches that this infallibility gives the pope the ability to guide the church without error. The Roman Catholic Church claims that it can trace an unbroken line of popes back to St. Peter, citing this as evidence that it is the true church, since, according to their interpretation of Matthew 16:18, Christ built His church upon Peter.
But while Peter was central in the early spread of the gospel (part of the meaning behind Matthew 16:18-19), the teaching of Scripture, taken in context, nowhere declares that he was in authority over the other apostles, or over the church (having primacy). See Acts 15:1-23; Galatians 2:1-14; and 1 Peter 5:1-5. Nor is it ever taught in Scripture that the bishop of Rome, or any other bishop, was to have primacy over the church. Scripture does not even explicitly record Peter ever being in Rome. Rather there is only one reference in Scripture of Peter writing from “Babylon,” a name sometimes applied to Rome (1 Peter 5:13). Primarily upon this and the historical rise of the influence of the Bishop of Rome come the Roman Catholic Church’s teaching of the primacy of the bishop of Rome. However, Scripture shows that Peter’s authority was shared by the other apostles (Ephesians 2:19-20), and the “loosing and binding” authority attributed to him was likewise shared by the local churches, not just their church leaders (see Matthew 18:15-19; 1 Corinthians 5:1-13; 2 Corinthians 13:10; Titus 2:15; 3:10-11).
Also, nowhere does Scripture state that, in order to keep the church from error, the authority of the apostles was passed on to those they ordained (the idea behind apostolic succession). Apostolic succession is “read into” those verses that the Roman Catholic Church uses to support this doctrine (2 Timothy 2:2; 4:2-5; Titus 1:5; 2:1; 2:15; 1 Timothy 5:19-22). Paul does NOT call on believers in various churches to receive Titus, Timothy, and other church leaders based on their authority as bishops or their having apostolic authority, but rather based upon their being fellow laborers with him (1 Corinthians 16:10; 16:16; 2 Corinthians 8:23).

      @M J
It seems you overlook the clear passages which teach otherwise.
      ● JOHN 20:19-23
      19. When it was evening on that day, the first day of the week, and the doors of the house where the disciples had met were locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, ‘Peace be with you.’
      20. After he said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord.
      21. Jesus said to them again, ‘Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.’
      22. When he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, ‘RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT.
      23. If you FORGIVE the sins of any, they are FORGIVEN them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.’
Notice this teaching wasn't given for the multitudes to apply; it was a practice to be done by Christ's ministers, His Apostles, and their future successors.
The Apostle James confirms the practice of confession of sins.
      ● JAMES 5:14-16
      14. Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord.
      15. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.
      16. Therefore CONFESS your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
-St. Paul confirms the reception of the power to forgive sins from Christ:
      ● 2 CORINTHIANS 5, 18-19
      18. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and GAVE US the MINISTRY of RECONCILIATION;
      19. that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and ENTRUSTING TO US the message of RECONCILIATION.
It is therefore a clear Catholic doctrine that the Church, from the earliest times of its existence, believed in the power to forgive sins as granted by Christ to the Apostles and passed on to their successors. Such a belief in fact was inculcated by the words with which Christ granted the power, and it would have been inexplicable to the early Christians if any one who professed faith in Christ had questioned the existence of that power in the Church. But if, on the contrary, we suppose that no such belief existed from the beginning, we encounter a still greater difficulty: the first mention of that power would have been regarded as an innovation both needless and intolerable; it would have shown little practical wisdom on the part of those who were endeavouring to draw men to Christ; and it would have raised a protest or led to a schism which would certainly have gone on record as plainly at least as did early divisions on matters of less importance. But NO such demonstration can be made. All the historical testimonies imply that it is an institution which goes back to Divine ordinance.
      The successors:
      Didache, Nº 14,
      Written 98-120 AD says:
"Sunday, when we meet, proceed to the fraction of the bread, then give thanks, after having CONFESSED your sins, so you'd have offered a pure sacrifice."
Not only does the Bible teach the practice of confession, the early Church shows its practice which is still done today in the Catholic and Orthodox Church.
      May God bless your discernment.

Question: Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?
Answer: We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday.” Rev. Peter Geiermann C.S.S.R., The Convert’s Catechism of Catholic Doctrine, p. 50 (1946).
Question: Have you any other way of proving that the Church has power to institute festivals of precept?”
Answer: Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her - she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday the first day of the week, for the observance of Saturday the seventh day, a change for which there is no Scriptural authority.” Stephen Keenan, A Doctrinal Catechism [FRS No. 7.], (3rd American ed., rev.: New York, Edward Dunigan & Bro., 1876), p. 174.

@@CatholicTruthOfficial There is absolutely nothing about Sabbath keeping in 1John, 2 John and 3rd John. The Gospel of John has a good deal about Sabbath keeping. Like, John 5:16-19 Where Christ teaches the Jews that both He and His Father WORK on the Sabbath day and then the Sabbath keepers "sought all the more to persecute and to KILL CHRIST. Other than that, it's one endless story of the Sabbath keepers and the Elders of the Sabbath keepers, persecuting Christ until they betrayed him and murdered him. *Just to be clear, Jesus, the apostles nor the prophets taught Christians or Gentile nations to keep the Sabbath!!*
*The Book of Revelation and the murderous Sabbath keepers* When you compare Mt. 23:34 SAYS where Christ says the following to the Sabbath keepers and then Rev. 18:3-4 and Mt:18:24 , it becomes unmistakable , that Christ himself identifies the Sabbath keepers who refuse to come out of the old Covenant as the SDA does, as the *Harlot of Revelation, and not the Catholic Church Now Read What Christ said to the Sabbath keepers in Mt. 23 :34 Wherefore, behold, *I send unto YOU prophets, and wise men* , and scribes: and *some of them YOU shall kill and crucify; and. some of them shall YOU scourge in *your* synagogues, and *persecute them from city to city* : (Rev. 17vs 6, Rev. 18:24)
Now Compare Rev. 18:24 And in HER was found *the blood of prophets, and of saints* , and *of all that were slain upon the earth.* (Compare MT. 23:35 above) ….. Christ explicitly agrees with Rev.18, that the Old Covenant Sabbath keepers are the Harlot of Revelation 18!

I totally disagree! Early Christians we’re NOT Catholics but simply believers. The role of the early leaders were to guide the early believers and not lord over them. The concept of the church as we know it today, started under Constantine in the 400’s CE . Before that time, Christians met in homes . The idea of the church building is patterned after pagan temples and the clergy and laity was initiated by the Nicolaitans. I know that Catholics are of great service but I believe some of their beliefs are flawed. The concept of the daily sacrifice of Christ in the Eucharist goes against the concept that Christ died once and for all. Also, Christ is our mediator, not the saints. These are just a few and is the reason I left the Cathot church.

In other words, the original Bible, the first Bible ever made, had the seven books. It wasn't until 1500 years later that Protestants took them out. They removed her books from the word of God. That includes the Seventh-day Adventists.

      Hello Mary Jo,
Thank you for writing so respectfully!
Yes, we do pray to Mary and the saints. In the sense of the old meaning of the word 'pray', which means 'asking'. We ask them, to pray for us too.
Because we believe our beloved Triune God is the God of the living, then all the saints are alive and well with him. And so we ask them, who are in his glory, to pray for us poor sinners on earth. Like asking friends to pray for a us.
Of course we pray directly to the Father and Jesus too. And to the Holy Spirit.
But a little help from friends never hurts 😊
I'm a bit sad I see this misconception so much, it seems mostly a different use of the word 'pray'. For us praying is not worshipping. We don't worship Mary or the saints, because everything they did and accomplished, they did through the grace of God. They did not create us, they don't keep us alive.
But the saints can be great role models for us to follow, so we too can one day hopefully see His glory, through the grace of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ.

  • @braxtonbell561
    @braxtonbell561 2 года назад +4

I would like to say that your claims are false about Ellen White and that everything she has written in The Great Controversy is backed up by Biblical Scripture. For you to come on here and try to say that she claims that all catholics are bad is just not accurate. We as Seventh Day Adventist live by the Bible and the Bible only. The Bible teaches us in Isaiah 8:20 that "To the law and to the testimony if they speak not according to this word then there is no truth in them". Everything that she speaks about in this book is backed up with biblical scripture. If you can't see it in scripture then you need to ask the Holy Spirit to guide you into all truth. The day is coming soon when you will see that what she has written was inspired by God himself. You can quote all these things you want but if it's not from the bible we don't want it. God's last day message to the world is Revelation 14:6-12, The Three Angels Message. I will be praying for you brother that God will show you the light.

It doesn't seem like you watch the video, because we clearly proved her claims about the Catholic church and history wrong. And not just a little wrong, but Way Off the Mark in many cases. So try watching the video again, rather than just finding someone who is making outrageous claims that can't be substantial and have been proven to be wrong with actual facts. She does not back herself up with any facts which is why we did in this video.

They didn't. Most anti-Catholics claim 50 million during the inquisition. But there were not even that many people in Europe. You would literally have to kill every man, woman, and child of all religions and then import more to kill them again. So, it's not true my friend. Anti-Catholics cannot verify that with real history, historians, or history books. It's just an grievous claim that is so far from true. Hope that helps. They were followers of Christ, but they were specifically Catholic. Jesus started the Catholic church. So if you go back and read the writings of the earliest Christians, he will see that they believed in Catholic doctrines and not Protestant ones. They did not believe in the Bible alone or faith alone. They believed that Peter was the Rock on which Jesus built the church, they believed in the primacy of Peter, baptism meaning being born again, the necessity of the church and Bishops, The true presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, and much more. I hope this helps to answer your question.

If it is not true that the official title of the Pope is "Vicarius filii Dei" and that this title is written on the tiara, why was this statement confirmed twice (1914 and 1915) by the Catholic magazine "Our Sunday Vissitor"?
And why was this confirmation revoked only years later?

Stu - Thanks for the comments. No Papal tiara has this title, nor has it ever contained this title. The magazine (which is just a magazine and nothing official anyway) was mistaken and acknowledged their mistake removing the magazine from existence. They have many times since retracted that mistake and told people that is was not correct or accurate and that the pope never held this title. We mention this in the video pretty sure.
