This film is one of the most visually stunning pieces of work I've ever seen. I'm really not surprised that it took 17 years of location scouting. Its deep and has a strong emotional impact. If you are the kind of person who occasionally cries when watching a movie this one will have you in floods.
I agree so much with you..I cried a lot..without knowing why I was crying..what a deep impact it had on me after watching the movie for the first time...still its my favorite..
one of the greatest movies ever
i adore this movie very much....simple storyline but touching, great acting, awesome choices of actors and locations, and the haunting music .... i wouldn't mind spend money to get the original copy and could watch it billion times.
The sneezing part is simply so funny!
I have just watched it and I´m impressed.
I watched this when I was a stoner and craved original, independent arthouse films that were as far from Hollywood blockbusters as possible. I was slightly pretentious back then but I'm better for it. The Fall is one of my favourite films of all time. The cinematography is second to none. The message is meaningful and can be translated into my life. Beethoven's music emanates from my speakers regularly as a result of that amazing intro. Tears fell.
Can't wait to see Tarsem Singh's "Snow White"...
@TheNEONSociety I know. Some people cannot get past the scenery and miss the whole point of the film. Tarsem does not throw a bunch of stunning landscapes together with some story. The stories he tells have so much to them and the scenery is complementary to it. I will say that I love the Cohen brothers. Very talented, but yes, so is Tarsem.
amazing! bravo Catinca!
Awesome movie 👍👍
Tarsem Singh should direct movie adaptations of the novels Wonderstruck By Brian Selznick, and My Name Is Red by Orhan Pamuk!!!
how come movies like these never get nominated for Oscars,or never will be as popular as some Twilight saga(which is horrible) ?????
Summer Le I believe classy people are a minority.😀
looks like Snyder got his idea of Sucker Punch from this film. just a thought
Loved this movie. But did anyone notice the video homages to Jodorowsky and Peter Brook in this? eg---Charle's Darwin: same outfit as first bandit in El Topo, birds flying from mouth--birds and flowers fly from slain students wounds in "Holy Mountain", the death of Bhishma in Brook's "Mahabharata", ( also played by an African actor ), turned into an arrow pincushion. NOT a criticism of this great film, just interesting.
There's a lot of film references in the imagery
@gianca60 - The director said no CGI effects in the movie.
Well, I think he mean it as an exaggeration. That bit almost certainly was CG, and he did digitaly remove a few railings here and there on their on-location shots, but the rest is all real.
@misshalicious
This movie doesn't need an Oscar.
(What I kept hearing throughout the interview)
ASK ME WHAT IT MEANS! ASK ME WHAT IT MEANS!!!!
:P
Question to the poeple who saw this movie: How many CGI effects were involved in this movie?Sorry I don't understand spoken english very well.
gianca60 CGI was used to remove anything modern like telephone poles and lines. It takes place around 1915-1925. The scenes in blue city he used CGI to remove people from rooftops. He could not stop them from watching the filming and he could not keep people away.
SPOILER kind of.. but how come he says no special effects, but in the movie near the end there's birds coming out of the mystics mouth.. unless he's telling us the actor was actually spewing live birds out of his mouth
Jon They put a bird in his mouth and it bit actor on his tongue. so most of birds are probably CGI , but it is possible that one of the birds was not. They were going to use real birds, but it was too painful for Mr. Beach (Mystic) to do.
.... And now it can't be viewed in America.
Why not
@@user-oi6gr8xw9h Some weird issue with the company that owns the rights to the movie. It can't be streamed on any platform in the US right now.
