wow, awesome video. my thermostat died,, it's exactly that same one you have......i went to home depot and bought the same honeywell digital thermostat, installed it and so far so good.........
I wonder if there is a bezel to go behind the thermostat to hide what the existing one covered. I installed that very same thermostat yesterday. Programming it for 5/2 day schedule is a learning curve. Nice video. Thanks!
Once I convert my low voltage natural gas powered furnace to a digital thermostat is it possible to turn just the fan on in the summer to pull cool air from the basement into the upstairs?
I tried installing the same digital thermostat and replaced the exact same analog thermostat as your video. I ran into an issue where I had two wires, one was connected to red and one to yellow. I am fairly certain that my strata suit also has hydronic (boiler) baseboard heating. When I installed the new digital thermostat the baseboard turned on immediately and would not turn off. Could the wires be messed up on my end?
Hi sorry for the delay. To know for sure if the heaters are electric or hot water is to check your electrical panel and look at the legend to see if you see "Heat". If it doesn't say, it's a hydronic baseboard heater and low voltage. Please double check that and to make sure you have the right thermostat. Maybe try switching the wires? Best of luck and thank you for watching our videos.
Hi, please check on amazon and search for digital thermostat. You will find some in the $20 range but don't expect them to last many years. I would probably aim for $50 to $100 range. Thanks for watching our videos.
The heat does not come on when I use the hold button and turn the heat up over 80 degrees when the room is 69 degrees. The switch is on heat. I have gas baseboard hot water heat and I have a separate zone for this room.
I really need help! How do I tell if mine is low voltage or electric?? I do have a electrical panel in my condo. Does that help to tell?? And, I have 4 different controls in my 2 bedroom apartment. One thermostat controller in each room. Is that a low voltage or high voltage? 🙏 Please help!
Hi Juan, if you buy the right themostat it should work with Alexa. Here is one: www.amazon.com/Amazon-Smart-Thermostat/dp/B08J4C8871 Thanks for watching our videos.
You should never leave exposed wire (whether low volt or high volt) after you've inserted it into the wire connectors. Cut wire shorter so that the insulation comes all the way up to the outside of the connector. This will not just avoid any shorts but also look more professional.
Great job I like it and thank you very much. It helped me and also saving money
Thank you from south of the border! I also replaced the very same old Honeywell thermostat with the same one you used. This video was very helpful!

Hi. I changed my old stat out for a t4 Honeywell. Why can’t I get the furnace to shut off now. It’s on auto fan and the old stat was working fine.
Mine is on R and Y kind of confused can u enlighten me please? Thank you
Once I convert my low voltage natural gas powered furnace to a digital thermostat is it possible to turn just the fan on in the summer to pull cool air from the basement into the upstairs?
Yes, I think you have to get a specific thermostat that includes the fan function otherwise it's mostly heat or cool.
@@InspectCanada thanks man, you have some solid content I'm surprised you don't have more subs..keep going!
