I say this every time someone talks about a tomato sandwich. You have got to try adding sliced boiled eggs to it. The textures and flavors meld together perfectly.

I was eating a freshly ripened garden tomato sandwich on my homemade, freshly milled 100% whole wheat bread with toum made from garlic that I harvested this year, when I was watching your bruschetta video. 😂😂 It was great sharing a tomato meal with you. BTW thanks for sharing the basics like a “simple” tomato sandwich and bruschetta, they are delicious and easy for everyone to modify and make it their own. I bless you back.

I just had my first tomato sandwich of the season for breakfast the other morning with my first ripened tomato out of the garden on fresh baked white sandwich bread. There are just no words for how truly delicious it was. I have been eating them every morning since! An absolute favorite! 😋

You need to try a bread and butter cucumber sandwich. Add a little thin sjic purple onion. Even thin slice tomato. Yummy. I’m gonna go make one now.

I remember as a child my mother would make tomato sandwiches when we went to the beach for the day. They were always a bit soggy but we loved them anyway lol. Your son is an absolute darling, thank you for todays video, I really enjoyed it xxx
We do a lot of BLTs and BLCs (cucumbers) but we have discovered that lettuce leaf basil makes a great addition! I usually do BBT bacon basil tomato sandwiches. ❤️
Jess! OMG! I've never been a huge fan of fresh tomatoes, but I've always loved growing and preserving them. Today, I went out to the garden and picked a Cherokee purple tomato. I followed your recipe, and the only thing I did differently was adding a splash of my favorite Italian dressing and some shrimp. I'm obsessed! Thank you so much. This is my new favorite meal.

My mom and Grandmother used to lunch on tomatoes. I never understood. Today, in part Thanks to Jess, I grow a lot of tomatoes for my kids, especially cherry tomatoes in my raised garden beds and greenstalk planters. Its a texture thing for me, but any meal I can include tomatoes I do, because I can't grow enough tomatoes for my kids. Consumed on ripeness! I love watching my garden grow as a food source. I can imagine this sandwich with a fresh additional of basil. Yum!

My lunch today was slices of beefsteak tomato on white Wonder bread with mayo, so good. I'm from southern Ohio Appalachia.
I have been eating tomato sandwiches just about everyday for the last few weeks. One of my favorite summer treats. Mine are on toasted white bread with nothing but tomato, salt, and pepper. No mayo. Mom always buttered the toast on hers.
My recipe- I'm a Yankee living in middle Tennessee for 4 years - open faced tomato sandwich- toasted Dave's killer bread, Dukes mayo, slices of whatever tomatoes came out of garden, salt, fresh pepper, and trader Joe's smoked, spicy paprika (makes it as good as bacon IMHO when I'm going meatless) -not traditional but best lunch of late summer
There is absolutely nothing better! I ate a tomato sandwich at least once a day for two months! My summer tomatoes are gone. Hoping for a good fall crop!

Oh Jess, the tomato sandwich is ultra simple but definitely deserves its own video. Like you I am not able to enjoy them any longer because I am 100% grain free. But boy do I miss them. I preferred them on soft white sandwich bread, spread with mayo on both sides, piled high with 5-6 thin slices of tomato that by halfway through were slipping out of the bread and through my fingers. Oh my how I would love one of those again! I feel the same way about grain free breads....just not worth it for me. Thank you for this tribute to one of the very best parts of summer.😊

😂I just sat down for my first cup of coffee and am eating a bagel with tomatoes while bacon cooks for sandwiches later. 😂. People at work actually didn’t know you could even eat a sandwich with just a tomato as the main source (fresh is best). 😊
I rarely comment on videos but I wanted to share my new way of eating a tomato sandwich, which I’ve eaten my entire life. I lightly toast sourdough bread, Duke’s mayo, beef steak tomato, S&P, chiffonade basil and a drizzle of balsamic glaze 😋 sooo good!
I love tomato sandwiches. If my garden once tomatoes came him, I would switch around - tomato sandwich, BLT, or Tomato, Cucumber Sandwich.

Cherokee purple are the best ever!!! We got 13 inches of rain in July so my tomatoes are not producing right now. Hope it will pick back up again.

I’ve always been simple with my tomato sandwiches with the same exact recipe (minus the cracked pepper) BUT I recently started substituting Everything seasoning (everything but the bagel) and it is just as simple but takes the salt aspect to the next level.
My favorite summertime lunch. My tomatoes are late this year, but the organic farm down the street has them for sale, so they are on the menu!
My mom made these for us every day in the summer when we were growing up. She used soft butter and cut it in quarters for us.
I am so envious. :) My grandma always grew tomatoes, and I would FEAST all summer long.
I have had tomato sandwich all my life, my family is very southern. We had and still do put tomato mayonnaise onion salt and pepper.
Wow, Ben is growing up so fast. He is the best taste tester. I remember the early days of him helping you pick cherry tomatoes. I think he ate almost as many as he picked 🤣🤣🤣. Jess, You have me drooling. My tomatoes got off to a slow start, cannot wait for the Cerokee Purples to ripen. Many years ago, my husband introduced me to peanut butter, butter and tomato sandwiches.. I challange you all to try one, they are wonderfu.. I have never heard of anyone else eating them.

Sweet Jess, Ha!!! A way to my heart a homegrown tomato sandwich. I did this yesterday with a Dr Wyche tomato, bread, Dukes mayo, Redmonds Real Salt, and cracked pepper. I was in heaven, may have to do it again today.

I had my tomato sandwich today with a yellow heirloom, whole grain bread, fake bacon, horseradish mayo and of course S&P. I toast my bread too, although just enough to help them not completely sog out. Don’t forget the napkin! Or shirttail… no judgment!

My first tomato sandwich of the year must be made on cheap white bread and salt only. After that I add all the wonderful things and try different breads etc. I have diverticulitis so now , I have to remove each seed painstakingly. It is worth it. Happy the skin doesn't seem to bother me.

I had a tomato sandwich tonight and last night and the night before 🤣 I like to add jalapeño slices and some basil, sooo good.
Exactly that sandwich sans salt is what I eat every lunch for 2 months, but my two months don't begin until August so I'm impatiently waiting for them to ripen. Oh Ben, you just made waiting a llittle more difficult, especially since mine are seemingly very late this year due to such a cold June here.
