This was the time of true life feeling music the 70’s. Them was the days of musician they actually play their own music, not like today using computers.
We got to listen to real musicians. Thank you, AWB.✌🏾♥️✊🏾
Mid-70's, or so, I was about 13, I went to visit my brother in Berkeley Ca. He was maybe 16, when he took me for a walk late at night, and with the cassette player he held on his forearm, he says to me, "Hey kid, listen to this."
He pops in the tape, and out came this music that I had never heard before!
Damn, brings on the tears.
Dude that guy playing the drums is insanely great. They're all great musicians. Their rhythm section is overwhelming great. AWB are great players. The band is crazy great 🤩🤩🤩
Steve Ferrone is in drums
He had been playing with Brian Auger. Later, for many years, he was with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
The synchopations of this band is mindblowing!
Funky white boys ain't the word!! 🔥😎
Saw AWB back in Honolulu, Hawaii in1977. The sound of this concert is excellent !
One of the greatest soul bands ever!
My now husband and I saw them on the Star casino river boat over 40 years ago in Nola . One of the best concerts we ever been to. Damn, this brings back memories.

Great soul funk performance by AWB!
Love AWB. Thank you for this upload. They are on FIRE!!
*Hamish Stuart❤*
They opened for Clapton at that awful “comeback” concert in 1973 at the Rainbow - and completely stole the show. Many of us bought their debut album the very next day.
...wishing there was a recording of that (I got the Rainbow Concert LP for Christmas in 1973).
followed them for a long time xx got the love xx
WOW, "If I Ever Lose This Heaven", doesn't get any better than that, what a Great One!
One of my favorite songs by The Average White Band is if I ever lose this Heaven. Their version live is just mind-blowing
@@kevinblanchard9064 OH Yeah.......It is one of the "Great" ones.....:)
Play “Fool for you” by Celo Green
@@brendaak3687 "Fool you you" is a good one and also "Talk" by Khalid
Only band I know that plays slower live. Squeeze just a little more groove out of it.
Really good point. Never thought of it, but you are right. The mark of total cool :-)
r.i.p. Robbie macintosh x
The best cover ever ever ever made by the aw band ! Still my favorite 2019
Theese guys got GROVE👍👍👏👏
Will y'all please play at my retirement party..?❤️❤️❤️
Loved AWB
We all got to die, but if Hamish goes before me, it will be one of the saddest days for me. I don't think there with never be a singer that has his timber.
Damn good vintage, White soul!

i had to like this comment!..and yes AWB was/is kool!
I was in High school when they came out. We thought they were Black. I always Liked there music. Still do. That's real music 🎵🎶. That stuff today l can't understand it.
Black folk were 90% of their support. The black community loved The Average White Band. They were the real deal. 🥰🥳

Not Average at all!
Classic Koosh call at the start of this set?
Just cool songs tonight no winning.
dont sound too white thats for sure
They must have thought up their name as a self-joke, 'cause they were anything but average!
Hamish says the name came about from a white friend that was trekking around the bush by himself in some African country - the friend was nobody important, but rather an average bloke/guy!...thus the name AWB
Hey, we got ed sheeran!
😂
