Realize I'm late to the show but hey,.. I'm old, lol.🤣 Been over 30 years since I've done anything in this realm but your videos helped me pull the trigger on a Yamaha MG12XU!! Thanks for explaining everything in detail. Nice to know that the only real significant changes in mixing/studio are the options, features available at a lower cost and the implicating computers and interfaces into the workflow. Makes everything so much faster and easier to teach my daughter!
Good thing I watched, I had parameter control almost off and was wondering why my effects were so strange…I’m watching all these vids! So far love my new Yamaha!
We live on channel 13 in my band with Mic Mechanic 2 pedals on each mic ahead of the board in signal chain. We have access to so many effects but this little board on channell 13 gives us our killer vocal sound. Love it.....
Thank you so much for the video!! I gotta say, your videos helped me a lot in deciding to purchase this mixer. After 3 months of heavy use, I’m super happy with it. The FX engine is awesome, Yamaha has it super dialed
Hey great video. I would love to hear some long sustained notes on some of the effects - I think it would make more sense, like in say flanger-. I know you did hold on to some notes on some cases, just not on every effect. Anyway, many thanks for the video AND the channel. I have not come across any video of the yamaha or mackie consoles that come with faders. I realise that faders are susceptible to damage - is this why you do not buy/use these mixers in your business, or is it simply an issue of the elevated price range? From what I understand you rent out audio gear, so I assume the main concern would be to have gear that performs well overtime. Anyway, would be interested to see reviews of gear that has faders on, rather than just knobs.
Please I tried using your Yamaha products for a long time. Was very satisfying results. P90 spent 2 Grand with those people to get any kind of a equalizer on their mixers. I do not only dislikes Yamaha mixers. I don't think I would be misleading people to get I'm not to purchase one. I look at it as a piece of junk
As a 1202FX former user, I was hoping the Reverb effects would sound more natural and smoother, I didn't really like those that much, unfortunately. This was the deal or break for me, I guess I'll have to look into another mixer option.
Tough time choosing between the Mackie ProFX10v3 and the MG10UX, but the effects parameter knob was the thing that pushed me toward the Yamaha. Also, I REALLY like the compressor circuit. Sounds and feels like a real compressor, as opposed to just being a limiting tool. Only thing I'm left wanting is Mute buttons. MG12UX is a likely future purchase!
Hello again! Really following your videos!! I would have 2 questions..if I may: 1- can you apply one effect on channel 1 (for ex.) And a different effect on channel 2, Both at the same time .. 2-is ther an equivalent mixer, with better effects? And one with more ? Thank you!
Does an effect applies to all channel simultaneously or is it individually?..i wouldnt want to hear both my guitars and my vocals having distortion..hehe .seriously mate how does it work?👍👍👍
Hello, Kettner, a question here. Yamaha MG10XU is better than Scarlett Solo 3rd gen in terms of sound? I found the scarlett to be way too rudimentary, I mainly want to use a mixer or interface for voice acting and light singing, so my only concern regarding Yamaha MG10XU is if the sound is at least equal or better than scarlett solo 3rd gen. Also, do you think Yamaha MG10XU is at the same level / better/ worse than Soundcraft Notepad-8FX?
nice video mate, just quick question, where did you connect your mg10 audio out, is that direct to speaker or you connect to usb going to laptop, hope i fet the answer mate, thank you.
Thank you very helpful. But I am debating weather to buy this mixer or the mackie profx10v3. I’m mainly buying them for the effects. Can you make the same video but for the mackie profx10v3? Just going over the effects the same way you did here. That would be very helpful. Thank you.
Hi Jordan , I’m just purchased this mixer to use for my acoustic setup .. so far I love it but I use the headphone jack for an inner ear monitor while I’m playing .. I use some reverb to sing with but is there anyway to not get the reverb through my IEM ? It sounds fine through the speaker but in my ear it’s just too much and muddies the vocal too much and it’s hard to hear if I’m on pitch .. not sure if I explained that right . This is a great channel, thank you for the help !
Thanks for the video. Can it have a separate effect for mic vocals and separate effect for my instrument channel? If I select an effect, will it apply to my Bluetooth music too, in case I am doing karaoke? Thanks
I have a MG10XU. We use it as part of our set-up for Karaoke. Works great, but I'd like to utilize the USB feature. I'm an analog guy trying to embrace the digital world. Can you provide any details on the USB feature?? Right now, I want to output the mixer to my iphone for recording. Can you help an old guy out??
@@kettnercreative Is it possible to set different FX on each channel or the same fx will be added to the all channels ? I mean let’s say Reverb for channel one for singer1 and delay for channel 2 for singer 2 and so on for instruments.

I'm guessing you're only have to have one effect being used at a time, right? So you can't, for example, have the Reverb to the voice channel and the Phaser to the guitar channel, right?
Hi thank you for this video. I am planning to buy this mixer. Two questions please.... when you have for example effect 3 activated and you switch off the device, when you turn it back on does it remain on the last effect you used or starts from effect 1? Does the monitor/phones pot affect the Stereo Out when turned? Thank you!!!
Would like to ask please is the FX Send of the MG10XU stereo or mono? Would like to connect Strymon BigSky that is stereo. If not stereo, what mixer do you recommend that I could connect stereo effects? Thanks for any help.

Hi Jordan, your videos are super helpful and helping me a lot to decide what mixer I should get. I am a singer and want to record songs from home. I am leaning towards the Mackie ProFx6v3. I do not want to invest in a pedal just for the harmony which is really useful. Is there any mixer that has the basic harmony effect?
analog chorus is something that might cost as much as the mixer itself. i just spent 150 for an analogue ebs chorus unit and i was very happy with that price. pedals are very cheap these days tho, so if you were really hell bent on a harmonizer (obviously you can harmonize w urself using the mixer anyways, but its definately 2 different things) you could probably find a quit reasonable pedal that funcitons well for between 50 and little over 100 bucks

I just got one of these cuz I love my Yamaha mixer, EMX212s. But the same mic with the same cable has considerably lower audio quality.
