That's a clever packing style, and combined with the compression straps I wouldn't worry about anything wrinkling. I have a feeling this would be great for business clothes, too. Thanks for posting.
Fantastic! You influenced me to buy this pack. I went with the M/L because bigger is better! Looking forward to trying that brilliant folding of clothes as well!! Thanks for the tips! Fantastic video!
Martim Fonseca No I didn't, I did as he said and compressed everything. I put all my electronics in the front pocket so it was easy to access at security.
Hi ! I love this video. Gonna buy one for my trip! But please tell me the name of your daypack aswell. Ive been looking for 2 weeks and cannot find any suitable . Thank you
Cool vid! I would have used the bundle method like you did but inside a packing cube which would of compressed it once . Then use the compression straps with the bag to compress it one more time.
Great video! I'm not sure you're still checking comments here, but I wanted to second a question asked below: what's the name of that daypack that you packed inside your larger Farpoint 40?
May I ask... how did all of that stuff weigh? I believe most international budget airlines allow a max of 7 kg before they start to charge you with luggage/baggage fees. CMIW.
If your carry-on only travel refers to air travel then you shouldn't be packing your liquids and gels inside your pack but rather in a 1 quart Ziploc type bag in an outside pocket ready for presentation at security.
+Nei Rauni Santos the main compartiment have the same size that Farpoint 40, you gain if your daypack is a ultralight compresion daysack, less weight, more eficient, cheap and light option.
@Lkonae Lots of people, especially for different weather. Walking shoe (closed toe), Sandals for those hot days, cheap pair of flip flops for hostel showers, and depending on the trip, some bring hikers. I myself am bringing 3, Runners for daily walking (which I also will be wearing on the plane), my Keen athletic sandals for hot days, especially when I'm in southern Italy, and then the cheap flip flops for the showers.
The only shoes I'm putting in my bag are the two types of sandals. My keens are flexible and can be bent, they are also not that thick compared to a running shoe. The flip flops for the shower are thin and take up little room. The larger shoes, which are my runners, I will be wearing. Not packing.
this is my travel pack 1:macbook pro 15.6 2:iphone 7 plus 3:apple whatch 2 4:cloths.etc 5:chargers 6:portable charger 7:notebook 8:cologn/bodyspray 9:pens 10:medicene 11:inhaler 12:toilet kit 13:my ultimate survival staition and thats it
Great vid but you may want to make a follow up alternative video. You didn't pack a second pair of shoes for a 10 day trip. You have great points that others may learn from. Thanks!
Yeah, and when you step outside and it's raining then you have to take the bundle apart to get the jacket, or if some idiot spills coffe on your shirt you have to take the bundle apart. bundling has a lot of downsides unless you are going to one place and taking everything out. but if you need to get to things quickly it sucks.
Forget those ridiculous packing cubes, unless you have something that needs to be together. . ( underwear, socks ) those zipper take up spacious space. .
Strange how it all worked perfectly for me. One pack, two weeks, no problems.(I love that your packing criteria revolve around terrifying scenarios like rain and imaginary coffee fumblers. I guess it goes hand in hand with your paranoia about the 'Satanic Agenda'. I'm sure you're ready for the coming war for mankind. I mean, unless his Horned Majesty brings *two* coffees. Then you're screwed.)
Difficult to measure: Maybe about 3/4 of a small washing machine of clothes in the main part besides fitting other things in the other compartments. But I also purchased a small rain cover that is easy to convert into a purse size for extra storage. When unfolded it carries as many things as a large dustbin bag but it should be much stronger - The latest new version as an emerald green interior: www.ospreyeurope.com/shop/media/wysiwyg/UK_OM/OM_Farpoint_S16_ENG.pdf
This was painful to watch. Get double sided packing cube bruh! That bag is such a waste too. Unable to access anything quickly without unbuckling those straps
That's a clever packing style, and combined with the compression straps I wouldn't worry about anything wrinkling. I have a feeling this would be great for business clothes, too. Thanks for posting.
5 Years Later & this is still one of the best travel packing videos on RUclips 👍
7 years later and it’s still good 👍
I’m looking at this again for my trip to Scotland 🤩 I use this video as a reference video for packing. Very logical and useful!!
This, I must say, is the most helpful and simplest guide/tips with no bulls*** mixed. thanks for sharing.
Man you have broken this down to a science lol, I must say you are neat, I mean I don't even know how to fold a shirt. Great video
Have u tried to use packing cubes? You would save even more space.
Thanks for the video. Great job on the actual packing method and showing us in detail. Will be buying this bag in Grey...
Cant believe that farpoint 40 can hold so much gear. Just awesome.
The airline I flew on has a 8kg weight limit for cabin baggage. How much did your pack end up weighing?
Fantastic! You influenced me to buy this pack. I went with the M/L because bigger is better! Looking forward to trying that brilliant folding of clothes as well!! Thanks for the tips! Fantastic video!
So did you have any troubles with the airlines?
Martim Fonseca No I didn't, I did as he said and compressed everything. I put all my electronics in the front pocket so it was easy to access at security.
Thanks for sharing, I'm looking for this method packing, only I'm plus with vacuum bags for traveling.
Roll your clothes then use a packing cube, it'll keep it from getting messy
Thanks for the tips! Each time you need a cloth you need to open the bundle and make it again? And what about dirty clothes?
Very informative video about the Fairpoint. Best one so far I've seen :)
Hey Hazi quick question, do u think this is a good enough bag for a 10-12 day trip?
nice review! Does that dry bag have a shoulder sling? I've been looking for a compact one with a sling.
awesome video. I've always rolled up my gear when traveling but now i will try this method. .
Thx again
Hi ! I love this video. Gonna buy one for my trip! But please tell me the name of your daypack aswell. Ive been looking for 2 weeks and cannot find any suitable . Thank you
I think you could have gone with half the amount of clothes as you brought. try merino wool and use the dry bag to do laundry in 👍
Great video. That girl that walked in from the side was really cute.
What kind of shoes do you wear for travel?
Cool vid! I would have used the bundle method like you did but inside a packing cube which would of compressed it once . Then use the compression straps with the bag to compress it one more time.
Hi haziqul, I have a question for you... the daypack that you show in the video came with 40L Osprey or did you get it apart?
That's a Caribee daypack, I'm not sure which model though
I believe the daypack is a caribee skycrane 2L
Very nice! I just did a journey around Europe which was so good!! I put videos on my channel but a camera just can't capture the experience!
Great video! I'm not sure you're still checking comments here, but I wanted to second a question asked below: what's the name of that daypack that you packed inside your larger Farpoint 40?
+tabootenente I paused the video in 1080p and it looks like a Caribee brand bag and looks like a Skycrane 2L model under the Hydration Packs.
Great - thanks, Joe!
Can you bring a 40L backpack on an airline as a backpack/personal item? Will it fit under seat?
About how much does your bag end up weighing when you are done with it?
Very nice demonstration, pretty helpful. :)
Hi Haziqul, did you end up getting the S/M or M/L size? And how tall are you?
+1 because this video shows i can put a daypack into the backpack itself
thanks for tips
excellent tips. how much for the osprey farpoint 40??
Great video. How heavy is the bag after you've packed in all the stuff? More than 7kgs?
+Vihren Mitev Yes it's good with Ryanair no problem I tried it.
Nice system and I love that blue farpoint!
awesome vid, just bought a Farpoint 40 for a 10 day trip in Europe
May I ask... how did all of that stuff weigh? I believe most international budget airlines allow a max of 7 kg before they start to charge you with luggage/baggage fees. CMIW.
nice tips man! You've also essentially sold me on this backpack
Throw most of that in a compression sack and shrink it even more
If your carry-on only travel refers to air travel then you shouldn't be packing your liquids and gels inside your pack but rather in a 1 quart Ziploc type bag in an outside pocket ready for presentation at security.
Exactly, and the bag hes using has a pocket at the top of the front of the bag that is easily accessible and will fit that baggie just fine.
Nice video! learnt a lot, hope you make even more when you get the time :)
Why do i have a feeling that fully stufed Osprey won't fit Carry On Limis? It looks sooo big!
Forgotten about internal and external straps that reduce the external size.
Instead of bringing a spare backpack do you recommend having the 55 which have this extra bag?
Nei Rauni Santos The Farpoint 55 doesn't fit into carry on compartments of airplanes.
conard15 tks, even if it is not 100% full? I got some replies from other people saying it can fit if not 100% loaded.
+Nei Rauni Santos the main compartiment have the same size that Farpoint 40, you gain if your daypack is a ultralight compresion daysack, less weight, more eficient, cheap and light option.
+conard15 The S/M 55 is carry-on compliant since it's 24" but the M/L isn't.
David any sugestion for ultralight compresion daysak
How tall are you? Is this the S-M or M-L model?
Thanks!
Great tips! Thanks!
Very good!
You don't take an extra pair of shoes?
Who takes an extra pair of shoes? You're going backpacking, not to the pageant.
@Lkonae

.... exactly....
Would you recommend to roll it up and pack them together? Maybe have each item type in one of those packing cube things?
Forget those ridiculous packing cubes, unless you have something that needs to be together. . ( underwear, socks )
those zipper take up spacious space. .

Well.... that escalated quickly...

Great vid!!!
great tips!
any spare shoes?? is that S/M or M/L ??
was finding for front load but damn hard to find. lastly i got myself 40L top laod
Brilliant!
I like this idea
Great video! How do you handle dirty clothes such as boxers and shirts?
Michael Bornemann Trash bags or plastic shopping bags, don't bother with those $20 liner bags not worth the month, since they can rip apart.
What about food, water and shoes??
very organised indeed
What about the shoes? and what happened with dirty clothes
the choice of equipment is ok maybe there are too much : 2 shirts, toilettries, miss one pair of shoes in addition
Thank you!!!
Haha buleh sudah jadi TV presenter ni
I just watched this after packing my backpack and rolling everything up. I loathe myself
I love it until you put your own opinion about the top load vs zippered.
Boleh check in ka beg hiking
SHOES?
no shoes?
What are the dimensions of this bag please
Difficult to measure: Maybe about 3/4 of a small washing machine of clothes in the main part besides fitting other things in the other compartments.

he use his computer for "uhhhh stuff"
Shopkin Lover101 lol pornhub ahahahahahahahahahaha
what about 3 pairs of shoes ???
2 pairs of shoes is clearly enough for a few weeks
yaaa
A single pair of shoes will last you for a few years, not weeks.
cool backpack
Jesus Adolfo best backpack on the market i got one for usa in may 40 lit farpoint osprey
Top 3 for sure.
And your shoes?
You wear them.
shoes bro?
What did u put your underwear in (bag)
How could you treat a pool table that way? A pool table is not a work table. Otherwise, well done.
3 pants for 10 days?
+exploreryen Guys staying Hostels thats 3 more than the average.
Most hostels have washing machines, Bring like 2 pants and wash them.
3 might feel like too much but divided by 10 thats like a jeans per 3 days. Otherise you can 1 jean maybe wash it after 5 days and rewear it
you can wear a pair of jeans for two weeks if not longer! Why bring t-shirts, you can buy them anywhere
Looks like you're packing everything you own.
that pass Ryanair's test?
i'd rather just wait at the luggage conveyer
too much work!!!!! but cool shit
This was painful to watch. Get double sided packing cube bruh! That bag is such a waste too. Unable to access anything quickly without unbuckling those straps
