"Putting in a contact case is a great solution" BEST UNINTENDED PUN EVER.
LOL
I don't get it someone pls tell me
@@sarahsajeel7536 contact lens solution
Lizzy Marquez ohh thx lol
I literally read this like five times before I understood it.
I prefer to bring 4 suitcases and flex on my friends with a new outfit each meal of the day.
Me too 😏
Your wearing the same clothes in your thumbnails?
Suixice’s F3X I actually don’t think I have worn the same thing twice. They are all the same style though!
haha!! flex on
😂
I wonder how many miles I’ve scrolled with my thumb.
ZaiKa Family now I won’t be able to sleep thx
I love your channel 💗
Now that's a philosophical question
Damn, I really do wonder now.
These are the real questions that need to be asked
I REALLY liked this lady! She had a low toned voice and she got to the point right away; most go yak yak yak before even coming close to getting to the point!!!!
Most people try to milk the ad revenue.
I was a flight attendant for over 38 years and have traveled all over the world. This video gave some great ideas, and I learned some new things. Thanks.

Guys, this is NOT supposed for a holiday at the beach and not about looking sweet. It’s more for an adventure-trip and always being warm and dry. So STOP hating. Ehdjkgkf.
How is she being warm by only packing t shirts?
Yeah but three weeks of sun screen in a contact lens container is not enough.
Seriously!
a potato with no subs she could just buy more sunscreen
Lexi Palmieri That’s such a waste though
i like that she actually packed less stuff instesd of the classic "how to pack light but its actually just using vacuum bags instead of minimizing"

"...'cause you're always gonna be wearing something... hopefully." 😂😂😂😂😂
To people who want to pack light for winter time trips- invest in a good jacket so you don’t need such thick under layers. Also, thermal shirts. They are absolutely wonderful. Denim is heavy, so unless you plan wearing your jeans multiple days, pack other pants made of other materials. Also, at night, hang the clothes you wore in a well ventilated area. This way, they won’t smell so bad and you can prolong their use before the next wash.
Dani Black I’m planning a trip in November to japan. Thanks for the winter tips. What kinda other material winter pants would u suggest? Jw 🤔
Kiana Saty I went to Japan in 2017 at the end of December. In my opinion, the temperature itself isn’t terrible, but the windchill is pretty strong (also depends on where in Japan you go- I was in Tokyo). I actually prefer wearing leggings/thermal pants with a pair of jeggings or stretchy pants made to look like like nice pants over top. These items pack really small and with the leggings underneath, the top layer pants don’t smell as bad as quickly (body oils don’t really reach it).
Dani Black thank you! This is great advice and I will deft keep these tips in mind 🙌👏😊
Nice advices. For winter (or multiple-climate zones trips) I'd go anytime with TECH fabrics. Thermal t-shirts or longsleeves, socks, underwear and tights takes up very little space but are comfortable and super-warm.
Edoardo Torrenti nice! Thanks I’ll keep those tips in mind. I appreciate the help 😊
I'm an opera singer and I manage to go on 10 days concert/auditions trip (with concert clothes and scores!!!) with only a bag about this size, saving so much time and back pain!!!!
wow this is even more stuff than I'd normally pack so I really appreciate the visual walkthrough and I thought the little outfit burritos were super good. Thanks a lot!
I don't think it's a good idea to stuff your underwear in your shoes.
Oh, I always pack socks and underwear in shoes. Saves a heap of space
For women, panties should not be stored with footwear, as it can lead to infections. But you could probably grt away with putting it in a baggie in your shoes!
you can put it with your pants and shirt roll
I put mine in zip lock bags and then put them in the shoes 😊
Why not lol
What about laptop, camera, chargers, extra batteries etc??????
I usually just bring one backpack and my camera bag, charger and batteries doesnt need much space tho. Laptop? For what?
@@zonnm laptop for work
@@taeminakim7537 she's not working, so no need for a laptop.
@@carolinagirl3110 at the beginning of the video, she said she travels for work too.
do you mean ipad?
It might’ve been mentioned already, but one trick I always do is to wear the biggest pair of shoes on the flight/trip. Large shoes esp guy’s hightop boots or sneakers take up a ton of space in your bag.
Pack the smaller shoes in your bag instead.
Exactly, then change your footwear on the plane.
Will put my ski boots for the trip then 👍

as a ranger boots kinda girl: this ! always !
The one burrito = one outfit idea is amazing!
I'd suggest investing in an ultra light umbrella and always having some plastic bags (used clothes/dirty shoes) with you.
Also keep liquids in a seperate 1 litre zip-bag when you are flying.
Looks more like for a week, not three weeks trip
If you are packed for a week, and can get laundry detergent (or shampoo ha ha)... you are packed for a lifetime. I use dry fit clothes (pants, shirts, socks & underwear). Anything I wash at night is dry by morning. 😎
Clickbait and lying on your video title? What? Never.
@@HyTricksyy how is this clickbait and lying? Its 100% possible to get by for 3 weeks with this amount of stuff. I've done it myself. I don't know what your definition of light is, but don't hate on the girl because she can do it and you can't.
Yes because laundry machines do not exist.
@@missuniverse3169 you can do it by hands

Hahaha.. this is funny
This was so useful!! I’m currently packing for a long scout trip and we have a limited amount of space for bags so I had to pack everything into a rather tight bag but after watching this video I still had half a bag left!
The most important thing to remember is that packing for a three-week trip should be almost identical to packing for a one-week trip. The only difference may be the quantity of consumables like conditioner or deodorant. Go for solid options where you can. Solid cologne, soap, shampoo, and so on take up far less space and can last for months
BS you need way more stuff for 3 weeks !
@@maryburger1232 I agree, you need more stuff. More activities.
Totally agree that the only difference for me between a one vs. three-week (or six week or...) trip is the toiletries! Haven't tried solid shampoo yet, but I love my ColorScience SPF 50 powdered sunscreen as an alternative to bulkier lotion sunscreen. Laundry strips are also lighter and more compact than liquid detergent.
@@bellaluce7088 I respect all travelers decisions. I've done a 40L backpack to Central America before. For me, going from a 40-60L gives me more enjoyment on the trip. at this point in my life, my "stuff" is all functional and all adds to the fun. It was cool to be lightweight, that's for sure. I could survive off a 40L but to me, what's the fun in that? I like to have more of what I need.
Completely disagree, no need to pack extra toiletries, they are easy to find in most parts of the word and if you're ever going somewhere where they aren't they don't take much space anyway.
Clothing on the other hand pretty much scales with trip length unless you are lucky enough to have access to laundry facilities.
People in these comments are making “ packing light” into some kind of competition. Packing is personal, stop telling people what they need or don’t need to pack for their OWN personal use. What’s it to you anyway? I consider myself a light packer, but I personally would just bring a small carry on for 3 weeks trip because am not taking time to do laundry 3 or 4 times. And I would like to have some space to put souvenirs. She could have packed all that in a small carry on and be just as light and carefree in my opinion. She CHOSE a backpack which is cool. Again, whatever works for YOU.

Thank you for this video! The rolled-up "burrito baby" will definitely help to save room in a suitcase/bag AND will help with keeping outfits organized--I tend to "dig" for items ("Where's the top that matches these pajama shorts??") so this is very helpful!
This was very helpful - so many people say they pack light and then proceed to over pack. I really enjoyed your minimalism.
this is, honestly, one of the best videos on light packing I’ve seen so far. And I’ve seen a lot of videos.
From one chronic overpacker to another - THANK YOU for this video! I'm about to travel for a week with my son so I'm hoping to avoid packing a large suitcase for everything we'll need. I appreciate your tips and will definitely put them to use! Love the burrito!
All i need is hermione’s bag with undetected extension charm
I love the way you folded up the jacket and also the pants/shirts together!!! Thanks for the tips!!!
Cannot compliment you enough on how you get quickly into content instead of the endless talk that some channels provide. Taking 12 min to describe how to pack 6 items is annoying while yak yak yacking. Thankyou again for your interesting, helpful presentation.
This video helped me realize my "I'll just bring everything I own and decide what to wear once I'm there" packing method could, perhaps, just possibly, be the reason I have to take 2 suitcases plus a carry-on everywhere I ever go.....
I'm a hosteler and i usually end up going home every weekend (my home's 2.5 hrs away from my uni) so basically i take all my laundry that means clothes worth 5 days and plus night wear and comfy cloths as well. Thank you sm for these tips they have helped me a lot. I usually prefer to carry a normal size backpack and just fit all my stuff in it and it never worked so i carried a small suitcase and it was tough for me to take care of it in bus or while walking your tips saved my life thank you sm.
You did amazing job packing plus you are so humble. Nicely done.
Thank you so much! Traveling for 10 days and haven't traveled in 40 years. This is awesome!
This is more like I’m not going to be looking cute on this trip type packing
Omg facepalm
Exactly!

I would recommend a backpack with a waist strap, back support. Also, I throw in a packet of dried lavender.
Shaquice DaCosta thanks I’ll try that! ❤️ love that idea
Great idea!
Great idea with the lavendar !! Thanks. This is the ONLY time I've read that suggestion. 👍👍👏
Seriously one of the better videos out there. I have always had issues packing especially slippery nylon type jackets and you just made my day. I thought about rolling up outfits but weather is such a big factor. For sleepwear this will be brilliant though. Last the plastic wrap on liquids bottles just omg. Thank you.
I can't help over packing. I'm so afraid to be without something that I need and then kick myself in the butt cuz I didn't bring it! However, you showed me a great way to roll my jacket into a baby burrito which saved so much space! I also decided to leave full sized bottles at home. Great video ❤️! Thank you so much from one traveler to another 💓😍😍!!!!
Just curious, how about your bra, bath towel and makeup?
I use a thin microfiber towel, and I just don't Change bras very often, and I usually use very thin bras, that can be washed at night and be dry in the morning... But yeah, nothing on makeup, weird
Not everyone needs so many makeup stuffs. For some, just 1 sunscreen tube is enough.
@@TheSmbrown weird flex but ok
Sample size products or two in one products like lip and cheek rouge or eye pencils for liner and shadow
Not sure about the bra but I always bring a small bath towel (or not because if you stay in hotel they will provide you), and travel size makeup also available with my brand or else you can buy small containers and fill ur moisturizer, toner, etc.
The “Rolling Technique” is called Ranger Rolling. It’s used in the military.
Why doesn't she wear bras? Also, this doesn't fit clean freaks LOL
Fiona, She did have bras. Plus how many outfits do you need on a trip?
I still use this technique even being out of the army for a while, and I have taught my mam how to do it as she travels a lot.
Best way to pack
I am pretty good at keeping stuff to a minimum but that rolling method looks a real winner. And the contact lens container and the mint tin are ideas I will use. 3 years not travelling, I hope to manage a trip home this year. Thank you!!
I notice many of these packing tips are very suited for summer travels, but would love to see packing tips for winter trips,, those warm clothes will definitely take on space

@@naomi.asmerom #relatable
the thing is.. there's always that basic stuff you need no matter how long you stay- shampoo and other toiletries, pajamas, pants etc.. I can go from a 3-day-suitcase to one for a 7 day trip by just adding 3 additional shirts and that's it- but there's always that stuff that you just need to pack no matter how long you travel and that's what's making me always carry a big suitcase

that contact case not enough hold enough for one wash. wth....
Finally a positive comment
Erica doko , it's not for soap.
I’d like to see someone do this with either a cold climate or someone who wears much larger clothes. Larger clothes take more room because there is literally more fabric. And a cold climate means more clothes.
@Aly K. Very relevant comment indeed about larger body size/clothing
I'm six feet and also bring a foldable crutch, a pillow and theatre outfits. And bulky pyamas. 35 liters for a weekend in January in Berlin. I did bring an extra bag with food. 🙂
Actually for warm climate, you need more clothes even though each piece is less fabric. Normal people sweat a lot more in warm weather and start to smell after a day.

In 3 weeks using one contact lense full of sunscreen? Hmmm
Ciara1211 , that's for just until you can get to a store. Plus some people don't use it.
Yeah, this video pretty much assumes you have extra money to buy whatever else you need when you arrive. Toiletries are more expensive outside the States, or even just at hotels, not to mention you can't bring the full-size bottles with you on the flight home. It also depends on your location, as to whether they even have the products you need.
omg ikr
Better shove a LOT of money into that thin mint tin
Yeah and one small bottle for what, washing 3 times?

Wear the hiking books on the flight. You save crazy amounts of packing space that way
Hiking Books haha
Too aggravating taking them off in the airport and re-donning them.
It used to be a good idea until you have to take them off at the airport for scans and then you start getting stares and grunts for holding up the line.
When I went on vacation and I knew I would need some heavy boots I just wore them while traveling to my destination. It helped me to reduce weight and space in my suitcase.
But the rolling method is nice. I have to try it out 😁
Lol me too the biggest pieces like boots, hoody, cargopants ill wear on plane
All comfort material, then air them on arrival
A lot of people travelling in warmer countries forget to dress
A: for cold plane n B: for arrival in cold home country

This video is awesome, especially the burrito trick. I also never thought to put outfits together like that. 10/10.
for those heavy clothes packers... laundry is the key to packing light.
but sometmes you cant do laundry or its expensive. washing by hands is also quite hard with some clothes
purrpurr888 what kind of clothes that were hard to wash by hands?
@@zonnm for example jeans or hoodies. you cant squeeze the water out entirely so it will take forever to dry. not to mention regular towels
@@purrpurr888 I can understand why u can't do laundry cause there's no laundry mat nearby but I don't understand how it's expensive(?). if you're only packing a backpack full of clothes it should really be one load, maybe two load tops. as for sweatshirts, heavy jackets, jeans..., yeah u can't wash those by hand. but the whole point of this video is packing light so I'd dress in layers, unless u get cold easily or going to cold places. other than falling in water with your whole wardrobe in ur backpack, I don't understand how ur not being able to do laundry or it's expensive.
@@k.m.9418 it depends on how long your trip is. sure, a backpack is enough for a week or two without laundry, but when you go for a few months with light packing it is inevitable to spend on laundromats even if you wear them three times or something. or if the place has a washing machine, still utility fees... but its not the point, the video isnt about this :)

Real talk: I've found that minimalist packing videos only apply to slender people who have sizes of clothes that use thin textiles.
I think that is kinda true. I can't roll any of my bottoms because there is more material than someone who a smaller size than me.
Disagree, I mean T-shirts are pretty much always made of thin fabric
m0egrrL Totally agree! I’m 6f and do not have a chance to pack so light. Three pairs of shoes would take the whole of my backpack 😂
Also, non-cold destinations
I’m a bigger girl and it is possible .. yes there’s more fabric and if it were for a cold climate .. well that’s just near impossible for me but warm clothes I can. I did an under armour backpack and a purse for 2 weeks in Romania (summer)
It had to weigh less than 6kg so I did the best I could. I only had one outfit I didn’t wear.
The amount of clothes I take depends on how quickly things will dry. In hot climates things dry overnight easily. I prefer colder climates so take manmade fibres as they dry much faster. It is not hard to wash through your outfit at the end of the day, if necessary. The microfibre towel is also great to use when you wring out your clothes as it absorbs more water.
Brilliant. Short. Effective. GAME on. THANK you.
This is very helpful, and filled with some very useful "packhacks" thank you!

Had to stop at 0:47 into your video to like, save, and subscribe. Being someone who travels very similar to yourself: hike and for the city creates a whole set of challenges. Thank you for posting on RUclips.
Burrito Baby is also known as „Ranger Roll“ or „Grunt Roll“.
A variation of this is to roll your socks in with the open ends sticking outwards at either side. In the end you just pull the socks‘ open ends over each end of the whole roll so you have a sealed package that isnt going to unravel at all.
Also, if you travel for a longer time, get yourself some Merino shirts. It is the most awesome stuff in the world. Breathable, light, packs down really small, dries in no time at all (useful whenever you can give them a wash in the sink or so), good for almost every weather situation. A bit on the pricy side but worth every penny. A friend of mine travelled the world for a year with just four of those - and they are still going strong.
Personally I can fit a week‘s worth of clothes in a medium packing cube...but every cubic inch I save is then gobbled up by camera gear 😅
Thank you Tiffany for delivering this outstanding content! Yep, I am also a fellow over-packer myself... but I'm getting better! It was awesome seeing some of your styles with the rolling, it reminds me of the method that I was taught in the service for space consolidation. Very effective.
I would like to dub the combo fold as the, "Roll-in-one!" haha, what'd ya think? (softly laughs) I would like to say that packing light feels freeing and as a traveler/adventurer one can feel comfortable at the same mobile with their belongings. Nothing more/nothing less (yes there's just-in case), but all the bases have been covered.
P.S. Nice backpack! ^-^
(softly laughs)
lol
I really liked the folding burrito idea. Will definitely incorporate into my packing.
Looks great. I'm tall and always cold, so my items tend to be bulkier. I also bring a pillow. At the beginning of 2020 I managed to get a two wee holiday into a 35 liter backpack (Riut bag for safety and comfort). That included a travel size sturdy pillow and one crutch that I could take apart. I couldn't wait to try it for real in summer. Well maybe Summer 2022. It looks like I can ditch the crutch. 🙂
Thanks! Seriously ridiculous overpacker here, and you have given me some excellent tips. Any chance you might do a similar video for a winter trip to a cold and rainy destination like Iceland? Thanks again!
Just follow the same instructions. Learn to layer your clothes, and wear your heaviest items (sweater, jackets and boots). You'll need them all the time anyway, so you might as well keep them on your person. Use thick socks instead of thinner ones and add some long sleeve shirts.
Good quality thick coat, 2 pairs of thermal undershirts and leggings, good pair of boots that you wear on the plane, 1 hat (in your pocket), 1 polar round scarf and thick gloves (in your pocket). Only things you need to pack are the thermals, which are thin, and the scarf, which you can also hang from the outside of your bag while you fly then wear on you there.
The concepts are the same. just with different clothes. keep it to one main jacket (that you'll always be wearing) will help. Don't make cold weather an excuse to overpack
The burrito is really helpful! I went on a 5 day trip to Singapore and the weight of my carry on was only 4kg and that was the only baggage I had! Herschel’s Little America backpack is a really great bag for travelling.
Wow my country! Where in Singapore did you went? any places of interests?😊
Hi
Hi can u suggest tips packing for sg
Mona Kavi Mona Kavi From my experience, I suggest that you bring very light clothes. What I mean of light clothes is that the cloth should not be that thick. Singapore is hot and very humid. The weather is usually 27-30 degree celcius. Just bring one jacket (you’re probably just gonna use it on the plane). I would also suggest you wear skirts or shorts while you go there. Pants are okay but shorts or skirt is better. Sleeveless tops would be good too. For shoes you could just bring a pair of sneakers or flats (if you’re not really gonna walk far). Hope that this could help :)
kj I went to a lot of places! My favorite one is the Arts & Science museum. The pictures that I took there was amazing.
thanks for the inspiration! give me insight how to pack more lightly
