This video shows my first visit in Pilar, Cebu, Camotes Islands on February 14, 2020.
At first, I was afraid to travel to Pilar because I heard that it's difficult to go there, always big waves even if the weather is fine. But I need to go there on that week. My nephew and my niece send me to Jagutapay Port in Puertobello, Tudela via motorcycle. We left our house at around 3:00 in the morning. The roro boat (MV Junmar) will leave at 5:30 AM. On board of roro are different animals like cows, pigs, etc. These animals will be market to Ormoc City. I was so afraid because the roro is shaking, we can't walk straight going upstairs to the roro but their staffs were there to assist all the passengers.
While we are in the middle of the sea, I keep my eyes closed to control my dizziness. Then, a few minutes, we arrived at Pilar Port. Thanks God for a safe trip. My first time to step down islet of Pilar. The place is so quite and peaceful. Air is very clean and fresh. I was there at around 7 in the morning. I took pictures to the view near the municipal hall.
Thank you to Ma'am Dolly, Ma'am Ging, and all the staffs there in the Municipality of Pilar.
For those who are planning to visit Pilar but afraid of big waves. Nothing to worry because not at all times that there are big waves, it depends upon the weather condition. If you afraid to travel via small boat, no need to "pakyaw" because you can wait for the schedule of the other boats like roro from Ormoc City to Tudela. There are boats also scheduled daily for Danao. For more info about the updated schedule of the boat, you can check to Coastguard Camotes, Ormoc City, and Danao City.
