Doom Eternal has this effect on me that even when I milk the content of the game dried for weeks and uninstall it, whenever anyone mention the game or there’s a video talking about Doom Eternal, I always ended up reinstalling it and play it for weeks again
I like how in your first Doom videos you were still playing on Hurt Me Plenty, and now you're comfortably running around on Nightmare. Way to go, Mr. TravGuy

You really know your stuff, and I was entertained the whole way even though I've played this DLC endless times. It's an arcade shooter at the end of the day. The main purpose of the dive suit is to force the player into resource management. Risk vs. Reward A dive suit thematically makes sense, especially since the rad suit is also a pickup, as it was in the first game
"The double Marauders tend to split up on their own" HA! Oh how I wish they did that to me. In my playthroughs they stuck together like glue. I could just about do a ballista-SSG combo starter before the other would jump in the way with his shield, so I had to whittle them each down much more slowly

His mistake. It is indeed their true face. Their armor itself might be their needs to slow down the transfiguration. Remember, they were "dying", that's why they need Argent in the first place.
There's also that makyr in the big vat with no armor. Pretty sure they just wear the armor to look more appealing to other races. Plus it might be a reference to angels being depicted as beautiful and human like when bionically correct angels are these monstrous crazy looking things.
I'm not gonna lie, RUclips has been recommending this channel for me for a while now, and after watching all your Doom videos, and getting that oldschool JonTron vibe, seeing the production quality and overall artistic direction the channel has, it amazes me it only has less than 7K subs. Can't remember the last time I was this hooked for 30+min videos, and so many of them. Really hope to see you grow, my dude. You got some real potential here.
As for why Samur knew, it's explained in the Codex. Samur was the Father's right hand. He has been documenting EVERYTHING since the beginning. Even the knowledge of demons had faded into obscurity for the later Maykrs, to the point that even the Khan Maykr didn't know what they were until Doomguy came along. But Samur knew it all. He was probably the last of the ancient Maykrs the Father first created. So there's that.
i have respect for Mick, David, And Andrew all 3 of their work is fantastic and i cant pick a favourite since theyre music just fits where it is in the game.
The genuine fear he had when seeing the spirit marauder is so funny to me i know he was acting but i really wish i could see his genuine reaction to a spirit marauder
Andrew's blood swamp track is my favourite in all of modern Doom's. I think it really compliments the nature of the level. It's not just going through the motions of being the slayer, it's an actual trial by combat type thingy. A landmark of hardships. The song at it's heaviest heights emphasises this. At least that's what i take from it. Totally see what you're saying though in relation to the franchise as a whole. It *is* just a djent style song and not much more at the end of the day. Those fucking build ups though...
Slight correction on the OST, the opening cutscene music is actually done by Levy, not Hulshult, I was actually able to get a reply from Levy on a youtube comment confirming this. And in case anyone was unaware, according to Levy, Hulshult also did the music for the Holt and the final boss!
Overthinking with that theory at the end, Earth, Hevean & Hell exist as separate planes of reality, alternate dimensions linked together. The Dark Lord, is Hell's alternate of The Doom Slayer. While most likely The Father, is Hevean's Alternate of the Doom Slayer
My personal theory is that The Wretch and The Betrayer are one in the same, since The Betrayer's hammer gives me some blacksmith vibes. I do think Hayden fucked with Doomguy's armor after retrieving them both from the Kadinger Sanctum to allow the future installation of the Dimenstional Tether though, hence the UAC branding and the armor already being unsealed when Doomguy is released. The armor is dismantled in Doomguy's room in the Fortress now, because not only did he want to get Hayden's additions out of there, he wanted to revert it to his original Night Sentinel armor. The Intern is likely just a fanboy like the rest of us, and my guess is he was able to hack into ARC data he didn't have permission to view just because he wanted to know EVERYTHING about his hero, and suddenly with all his bosses having fled in fear of the Dark Lord's life sphere he could finally just speak freely about everything he knew. ... I just wrote a paragraph theorizing about the plot of a Doom game. Didn't see THAT coming in '93 let me tell ya.

When hearing tha Testaments, the Dark Lord talks about the Wretch with disdain and hatred, which is weird as Betrayer is the reason they got rid of the main obstacle against the demons. I had a theory that the Wretch was one of the Arch demons from Hell, as there are 7 princes of hell in IRL demonology but only 6 in Doom Eternal, and one of these demons is a inventor that turned humans lazy with his machines

Serafim was mentioned in doom 2016 and it kinda made hayden look suspicious about his knowledge of hell and doom slayer . It was kinda clear that hayden was not just human and the codex entrys supported this . Then with doom eternal I was just sure about it
I just love this game. First run was on HMP, then UV and NM. Started with NM with TAG1. Holy crap is it fast and intense. Tyrants, barons, archies, its all great.
With all due respect, music in any game is one of the most important parts of it, right next to game control, graphics, and story, so it's perfectly natural for you to feel that way.

Here is one thing I've always wondered, based off the codex, one version of Hell and one version of Earth exist in the modern games. Then how did the classic Doom games take place? How was Earth oblivious to demons before DooM 2016's events, yet in the classic games Earth was nearly destroyed by demons? I personally think that not even the Father knows where Doomguy came from, he appeared from some parallel universe in a random chance event, either that or classic Doom's hell/heaven was all "hey can we get rid of this guy? Just send him to some other universe so we don't have to deal with him." I like the idea of this, because parallel universes could allow for more games after the Dark Lord is defeated
I’m very happy we get to go to the blood swamps. The first time I heard Hayden mention it I wanted to go to it immediately. It’s a super badass level and looks like a ghost album cover. Who would’ve thought a simple passing line would lead to my favorite doom track and level ever.

38:17 believe it or not, those eyeballs pop like a balloon using the microwave beam. It also auto aims, meaning that the beam can never miss, and it only does like ten bullets.
Personally I think one of the reasons hulshult didn't go all out is because he may have heard about what happened with Mick, so he may have wanted to get one in on Bethesda, which Is understandable cause Bethesda normally has it coming
I'm a bit late here but oh my God UAC Atlantica is one of the single best tracks I've ever heard in DOOM and not having it brought up while talking about Levy's work was painful... Still a damn good review, and I agree with everything
wait, PERFECT IDEA for a phase of the Dark Lord fight: he mirrors all your movements on a mirrored map and attacks you when you attack with your attacks, and the only way you can kill him/go to the next phase is by healing with asymmetrical health and armor packs, and using asymmetrical power ups, while also making sure he doesnt touch them as well
I really tried to not complain about the Marauder, but when you got to the buffed Marauder and complained about his AI being broken, that's when I noticed that his behaviour is basically consistent with what he does normally on my playthroughs, it's not that I can't deal with him eventually, it's just that he behaves inconsistently if I don't cheese through with the ballista-ssg combo and stun lock him, and that inconsistency is exactly the problem, if it weren't for that, I'd have no complaints

Pretty great review and video. I love it very much. Though I never used the lock on mod agaisnt the Whiplashes. Always used detonation, stick grenade, shield, heat wave, and destroyer mods with the super shotty. Along with a blood punch. So to me, the only thing is finding the damnbastard. As for the Unmakyr, I never used since the BFG is still amazing. But I watched Mayo's video and thinking that I'll give it a shot in the DLC again.

That would make sense. I'm sure that's the intention, though if that's true then it should only drain when swimming around the underwater base.
The praetor suit can withstand a shot from the BFG but breaks under water pressure

The double marauder fight in the super Gore Nest master level is more difficult due to the toxic floor and the smaller arena.

Serafim was mentioned in doom 2016 and it kinda made hayden look suspicious about his knowledge of hell and doom slayer . It was kinda clear that hayden was not just human and the codex entrys supported this . Then with doom eternal I was just sure about it
I just love this game. First run was on HMP, then UV and NM. Started with NM with TAG1. Holy crap is it fast and intense. Tyrants, barons, archies, its all great.

For me, the soundtrack and the level design for Ancient Gods part 1 felt a lot like Quake. And that's part of the reason I loved it.

Dean takahashi cannot even beat the tutorial of cuphead and says doom eternal is to hard because he cannot get past where he is up to, I am pretty sure any FPS shooter or any game is to hard for dean takahashi

Here is one thing I've always wondered, based off the codex, one version of Hell and one version of Earth exist in the modern games.
Then how did the classic Doom games take place? How was Earth oblivious to demons before DooM 2016's events, yet in the classic games Earth was nearly destroyed by demons?
I personally think that not even the Father knows where Doomguy came from, he appeared from some parallel universe in a random chance event, either that or classic Doom's hell/heaven was all "hey can we get rid of this guy? Just send him to some other universe so we don't have to deal with him." I like the idea of this, because parallel universes could allow for more games after the Dark Lord is defeated
I’m very happy we get to go to the blood swamps. The first time I heard Hayden mention it I wanted to go to it immediately. It’s a super badass level and looks like a ghost album cover. Who would’ve thought a simple passing line would lead to my favorite doom track and level ever.
Is it just me but when he burped in the vid i was not expecting it and laughed my ass off only followed to to fall from my chair when he just goes "oh fuck"

wait, PERFECT IDEA for a phase of the Dark Lord fight: he mirrors all your movements on a mirrored map and attacks you when you attack with your attacks, and the only way you can kill him/go to the next phase is by healing with asymmetrical health and armor packs, and using asymmetrical power ups, while also making sure he doesnt touch them as well
I love that the slayer's punches ring out like a gunshot in the fight against hayden

I really tried to not complain about the Marauder, but when you got to the buffed Marauder and complained about his AI being broken, that's when I noticed that his behaviour is basically consistent with what he does normally on my playthroughs, it's not that I can't deal with him eventually, it's just that he behaves inconsistently if I don't cheese through with the ballista-ssg combo and stun lock him, and that inconsistency is exactly the problem, if it weren't for that, I'd have no complaints

Doomguy is like Superman, except he actually fixes some of the damage he does

Pretty great review and video. I love it very much. Though I never used the lock on mod agaisnt the Whiplashes. Always used detonation, stick grenade, shield, heat wave, and destroyer mods with the super shotty. Along with a blood punch. So to me, the only thing is finding the damnbastard. As for the Unmakyr, I never used since the BFG is still amazing. But I watched Mayo's video and thinking that I'll give it a shot in the DLC again.
