hey Humbled Trader, as always amazing videos. One thing re hotkeys - you have mentioned that you always tick execute immediately when you press hotkey. However, there is a good not to do that, at least initially. I am in process of setting up my software and to avoid costly mistakes I prefer to have extra 1-2 clicks before my order is executed. So for testing purposes, it is prudent in my opinion not to tick execute immediately. Imagine the mess if you pressed short sell when the stock just gaps up. ;) Once I am satisfied with how my executions are done plus my muscle memory is trained I will put the tick on "execute immediately". Once again for A+++ content (3 pluses means the highest level )

Wyckoff Method trading. It's the best idea for rookies because it explains exactly what gets rookies suckered into their trades at exactly the wrong points. Breakout/breakdown trading is the hardest method for an amateur to follow, in my opinion.

I use Interactive Brokers. Their short list has gotten waaaay better. Still falls short but I just like the fact that I can short right there without having to locate shares that I might not even use. This platform is way complex but you explained it like a BOSS. #anothergreatvideoasusual

Its easy to drain your trading account by listening to Cynthia Tomain clear her throat. IBKR are pathetic. I'd throw a lot more commisions at them, if their training was better
3:03 was incredibly helpful! When I study videos, people always say their entries & exits with the chart showing but none of them have that feature on! I always squint (as if it helps lmao!) to get a closer look in between candles but it obviously doesn't help lol. I'll be using this for sure. Thank you for this video. I watched when you originally uploaded it (I clicked on the video and the Like button was already clicked 😏) and am revisiting it now as my brokerage account is now actually open and ready to go. Paper trading first before funding my account, but this video has been extremely useful, so thank you! It also looks like IB has improved a lot of this since you made this video! When turning on the Legend for VWAP, I didn't have upper/lower on, it just had the main VWAP enabled by default. Also the font size for Level 2 defaults to 14! I want to say you're responsible for those changes, as I'm not sure many people dive into that specific of changes in videos haha!

The title of the video says 2022. The publish date is actually 2019, so I think that's why my Trader Workstation looks very different from your, so it's difficult to find the same settings from your screen. The video is still very helpful in general, but if you could make an updated video on this topic, that would be awesome!

I will first use practice mode to get used with the interface. Interactive Brokers is a great broker for trading on other world markets... ok ok we can trade 24/7 that would make us all crazy. But great tutorial Humbled Trader. Thanks for posting that Great Canadian Content and waking up early every trading day on the BC west coast. @@abdeljellouli3644 the order types are really good, executions are fast, after hour sessions are open fully unlike Questrade where you can only trade post market until 5:30pm which sucked. I don't use IB for charting and would recommend another solution such as Tradingview or Think or swim. A side note about IB is that I find their Level 2 to be VERY laggy and inaccurate for OTCs and I have all the data IB offers. Listed level 2 seems to be fine as long as you subscribe to full market depth. I started using very basic hot keys in IB last week and all I can say is "game changer". Hope this information helps you. All I can say about Questrade is they are out to rip traders off!!

@@abdeljellouli3644 to be honest the IB commission structure throws me off because I thought the same thing BUT 1 month ago I decided to place an order for 25,000 shares to trade an OTC and Yes my commission was higher then Questrade but ai still think it was round trip less then $34 total. Where you will make it up is if you trade higher price stock. I trade it all and still paying way way way less then I was through Questrade. Remember at IB it's per share coms so I love this when I scale in and sell out in lots. I was paying 5.95 per trade so 2 in and 3 out per trade was costing me thousands vs what I pay now.

Only very recently have I began playing with IB. I have to say, their cheap margin rates are just amazing. One of the big reasons this broker is worth it. What I HATE is that they don't do any margin calls! They liquidate and go by 100 share lots when they do. Watch yourself.

What a great video. I have used Charles Schwab, TradeStation and thinkorswim. ToS is the best but now they are super slow. I don’t know if it’s because of new clients after the zero commissions, but I do know I’m losing money on market orders. Even when I click a price level on the trading ladder, I have seen the the price rip through my order and not fill at all. I’m looking at IB or LightSpeed so this video was very valuable...thank you.

The best way to use IBKR is to setup hotkeys for your buys and sells. Use alerts with atached orders. Add the moving averages to your charts.
