Has anyone that has tried this tip had any issues afterwards? I started getting concerned after a comment on Elektronauts asking if there could be data corruption issues. Also had my machine frozen after sitting on overnight. Considering if I should take the video down....
At first I was annoyed that I couldn't use midi over USB with the octatrack, but I absolutely love how you can mount the OT as a USB drive without any additional software. This just reinforces that feeling. Cheers!
Another suggestion: simply ‘play’ the first note of the sample, and then the other 2 notes - chromatically on Octa’s keyboard. You’ll have to add a little reverb to the first note (to extend it out to match the original), but from there you’re good to go!!
before I attempt to do this...have you done this to a file you've already sliced...and if so does it update the slices once you overwrite the original file (since I would assume its just placeholder information)?
Do you always leave the Octatrack usb plugged in? If not, do you plug it in after you turn it on or…? Thanks man this was a huge tip! Thinking about getting into Izotope…would you recommend?
I do usually leave it plugged in for convince. However with my Octatrack MKI I noticed I would get ground loops if I left it plugged in but that could have had to do with USB hubs and other issues. As far as Izotope & RX I highly recommend the products and the entry level stuff is almost just as good at the expensive pro versions. Try out the demos and see if it works for you before dropping the money
Also say if you wanted to import the audio editor sample on top for a thru track like you did in previously…would this collect samples work for this technique?
You should be able to do this with even free software such as Audacity. Sorry that you felt you were clickbaited, not my intention. Also Izotope RX Elements is only $49 USD on Plug-in Boutique.

no issues, check logs on card .
Hope to hear the song you make with these chops soon! Great info!👍💯
Fellow octa user, this is my favourite new channel. Different tips that haven't been discussed before!
Thanks so much. That really means a lot!

Yeah that would be certainly nice, as well as overbridge (of course) 😂
I know my MPC 1000 does the same. Which is a blessing because who has a CF card reader?
Awesome tip Justin! 👌
Thanks so much
Wow! Really cool indeed! Thanks!
:-)
nice that's a solid solution thanks for sharing
Cheers!
Fantastic tip. Subbed ;-)
Cheers!
incredible. thanks!
Very nice!
neat , yes best way to edit from the pc and update and just drag and drop , keep a backup of the entire card on the pc to swap sync with .
THanks!
Nice

The slice info is saved in a separate file on your CF card. If you are afraid, test it with a dummy project to ensure confidence in the process.
I used to do this using RX 6 but it changed the start point? Looks like it's been fixed?
Possibly. I didn't have any issues with the start point in RX7
@@_justin_joe Awesome!

@@_justin_joe you’re the man! Thanks for reaching back out. Best of luck bro!

@@juliomontes5525 Sorry Julio, not sure I understand the question. Could you try and rephrase it?
"a NEW way to edit audio on the Octatrack".
But instead on the Octatrack it is on the program which costs quite a lot.
I've just been clickbaited
