That DVD makred the standard of bands DVD's. Amazing band! When I saw the min London on the "World of lies" tour, at that point they dropped the masks but had strobe lighting and had grphics projected on the stage and it looked awesome it matched the music perfectly and they opened with "No One wins" that night! Saw them in 2006 at Bloodstock too which was also awesome
Joe Denby dam that must have been amazing to see them glad to have something new from them just a powerhouse of a band, and one of the best documented start to finish album creations ever. Can’t wait for the new album Cheers 🍻 Brother
Love The Berzerker hope they'll release the new album soon now that they're together again. I remember discovering them back in highschool and instantly getting hooked, they were the ultimate gateway band not only getting me into more of the underground side of extreme metal but also Hardcore techno and it's various forms. Criminally underrated band imo
Kick ass! Here are some of the great bands I listened to in 2019 : Ataxia, Bewitcher, The Bleeding, Cryptic Enslavement, Dischord, Disentomb, Embrace Your Punishment, God Syndrome, Gorgasm, Hate Squad, Hellripper, Horrendous, Lividity, Midnight, Repent, Rotting Christ, Terrorizer, Transmetal, Vanik, Vitriol, Witchtower, Witch Vomit......great year!
Dude! I love this band! I even watched that very DVD exactly 1 week ago today. It's one of my favourite 'behind the curtain' style DVDs, it's got such a bootleg feel to it that just suits the band. Super stoked they might be making a come back, I feel like they burned hard and died too fast. Give me that new album now!
Josh Crowe yeah for sure I also think that burned way hard, and your right about the bootleg feel makes it more raw somehow, that dude goes though hardship and so happy he film every step yeah super stoked for the new one Cheers 🍻
@@totalmetalrejection6435 Absolutely. Everyone I've ever heard say "it's really easy for anyone to record and release music from home" should watch that DVD as it paints a good picture of what it can actually be like. Naturally, technology these days makes it much easier, but when you've already got the backing and promotion of a major record label, there's so much pressure on you to deliver as opposed to an independent release. Got a lot of love for both that DVD, and the band. Keep up the great work, my man 🤘🤘
Saw them live once, the drummer played with a broken foot and it got worse towards the end of the set. The singer and the ex drummer from Nile Tony Laureano finished the set for the band. Tony and the singer are as fast as the drummer too.
Total Metal Rejection yeah it was, they opened up for Napalm Death, Strapping Young Lad, Nile, & Dark Tranquility that night. I believe the drummer broke his foot earlier in the tour.
Don't get me wrong I love The Berzerker but honestly the actual drumming isn't that fast. Just look at the clips from the DVD... the drums sounds brutal as fuck with the triggers and samples laid over the top but the dude's hardly playing when they bring it back to reality.
@The Darkcel Podcast I love The Berzerker and Slipknot but let's be honest here, Slipknot is a far better band overall. The Berzerker couldn't even keep the mask gimmick up and ended up just looking like any other death metal band. Their stage shows were nothing special and the music was heavily sampled and triggered. An awesome band for sure but definitely not the whole package and pretty much every album sounded the same.
@The Darkcel Podcast Yeah I agree that The Berzerker's masks and sound felt more integral and suited each other better than Slipknot's do. The thing is though SK ended up with such a diverse sound that no single image could complement all of it. Also bear in mind that when SK came out they weren't mainstream and had been an underground band up until then. I personally find SK just as heavy and scary as The Berzerker because no one comes close in a live environment and SK's masks and personalities make them unpredictable and violent (well the earlier days anyway). The problem I've always had with death metal and other 'extreme' metal bands in general is that they just don't deliver in terms of aggression and imagery so there's a disconnect with the music and it feels put on. You've got guys just standing there on stage in jeans and t-shirts growling about ancient Egypt and medieval battles and shit. What I'm trying to say is I think The Berzerker's image was more solid and in tune with the music but SK's delivery is better (or was).
