Ahab is one of my favorite bands, but I have to admit this is a group I never thought I'd see a reaction video for. Thank you for doing this.
Every album is themed after a famous novel about the ocean. Their first album (Call of the Wretched Sea) was based on Moby Dick, the album this track is from was based on "The Boats of the Glen Carrig" by William Hope Hodgson.
They're currently in the studio working on a new album based on 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
His clean voice makes me cry so painfully
I would have NEVER expected AHAB from you! I'm so fangirly and giggly!
MY GOD!!
And here you are, once again, hitting the hammer with yet another legendary band that NO ONE ELSE COVERED!
Ahab is one of my favorite bands. They play "funeral doom", which is a sub genre of doom metal that I am generally not a huge fan of:
It's pretty similar in purpose to dsbm (depressive suicidal black metal), in that it's supposed to be depressive and "crushing". But then, there are bands like Ahab that are playing at levels that are that amazing, that even I have to love them.
Aeonian Sorrow and Shape of despair are two more examples for funeral doom bands which are amazing.
For another Ahab song, I would suggest one of their classics: Old Thunder.
But then, I'll continue with my Septicflesh quest first ;)

Septicflesh - Dark Art
Real orchestra, written by Christos. Art by his brother Seth. The perfect combination between a full symphony and death metal. True to their style from all over their career, they released one of the best albums in 2017, Codex Omega. And "Dark Art" is one of the greatest songs on this album and a great entryway to this band.
@@susscrofamustermann9688 Indeed!
First time I have ever seen anyone react to AHAB. such an amazing band
The lyrics really add so much more depth.
Ahab is on of my favourites.
Amazing Band.Their Records are Concept Albums.Welcome to Doom Metal.Perfect!.Wait untill you Discover CANDLEMASS & MY DYING BRIDE and the newest Discover APOCALYPSE ORCHESTRA.....
You need to check out their song called The Giant. It’s about an Edgar Allen Poe poem about being lost at sea ..
Nautical Doom. With those chill surfy guitar vibes. Tis my favorite Doom band.
I cannot believe you did Doom Metal. Ahab is my favorite Doom Metal Band. Great!
They do theme the band name and lyrics off the concept of the book moby dick and captain ahab in some old songs they even sample the movie audio.they based this new album off a similar but different book about a scary ocean excursion they also wrote a similar song but on their last album before the newest one the song by ahab called "deliverance (shouting at the dead)that seemed to be a call to a different book cause it wasnt about the whale it was about dead people still alive on giant pirate ships that were coming to kill them essentially its a beautiful song though has an almost egyptian style riff in it the end is insane a nice little good feeling doom solo there at the end
Ahab is an incredibly good funeral band... which kinda refined their style over the years.
ahab antartica the polymorphous lots of intense emotions and singing!
Ahab - Yet Another Raft of the Medusa, or Ahab - Below the Sun
Both freaking amazing!
Yes Ahab! Best Funeral Doom band out there!
deff react to ahab antartica the polymorphous its so beautiful
my kinda metal right here
Please react to their song Old Thunder
Next time go for their song "Old Thunder." Very deep growl vocals but I think you'll definitely find it to your liking anyhow.
Vanguard by August Burns Red my beautiful people 🙌🏽
#PainInTheAsk Metal Church-Metal Church
The music was awesome, I'm just not into the death metal screaming(or whatever it's called).
thanks for the pick, the name can just be butchered it is literally doofus or lout in german :P and I'm a german dude, hence a german band for you to check out. ahab is very much a concept band, the first album was about moby dick, the second one was about the original story of the whaleship essex, the third on was about arthur gordon pym by edgar allan poe and this one is about william hope hudgsons the boats of the glen carrig. All with nautical themes. Other songs I'd recommend are Antarctica the Polymorphess, The Divinity of Oceans or Like Red Foam.
