This was one of the best demos yet. I don't care about the guitar. I just listen to all this various stuff being played and figure maybe it's time i tried to learn more of that. The Cream stuff was good and even the Queen stuff you did twice was very good. Nice on a rainy Monday morning.
Good honest review and nice playing! I bought this model about two years ago and I quite like the sound of it, at least the hot rail pickup, which was the main reason for my purchase. The other two pickups don't get much use. Now, just as with EVERY Harley Benton I've bought so far (four in total) it wasn't set up very well, with pretty high action and very noticeable fret sprout in a couple of places. I also noticed that one of the machine heads started to act funny after about six months. All this can, of course, be taken care of (and most likely will) since the guitar is quite nice, but I'm still waiting for the day when receive a Harley Benton as perfect as the ones many reviewers seem to get. Oh well... I definitely think it will be a pretty enjoyable guitar once it gets a set of quality machine heads and a nice setup from someone with the proper skills (not me).
I've had an HB Tele, LP, MR baritone, PRS style, and the EX84. Most were good straight out of the box. The EX84 had the pickups backwards. Other than that the tele was too heavy and so was the LP. But, they all sounded great for my needs. They all recorded great. Generally with LPs I need to raise the bridge a tad, and that's about it. Fresh strings, a fretboard cleaning and a polish is all they needed.
I ordered this Strat some years ago. It was the model with the maple fretboard and the fat neck. Being a double bass player, I'm used playing with a fat neck. We were 2 Strats at the guitars. His Strat was a very expensive, mine not. Was, was were the difference, his was A bit darker mine a bit brighter. Some years later I got a set Tone rider PUs. Played on my Vox AC 4 20 I had to look was Knopfler at the right on me or was it Eric Clapton. Just the best Strat sound I ever had and still have.
I've always thought the idea of a hot-rail pickup on a Strat was a good idea, but I've never heard a combination i liked. Cool rails are hot enough for me... FWIW
Didn't sound half bad. Your playing was awesome like normal. I have to admit that to my ears I really liked the sound of the hot rail humbucker through your rig. Every time you switched to it it had a nice brightness to it that is lacking in the Roswell normal humbucker. I love the Roswells in my Harley Benton les paul but they're voiced noticeably darker than the single coil hot rail. Great video. I liked the guitar. Enough to buy one? Don't know but I did like the tone.
Näitä sun videoita on mukava kattoo ku joku joka osaa soittaa arvostelee kamoja. Usein just kaikki romut saa ylistystä kun arvostelijat on mitä on. Itteeni kiinnostaa kans paljon myös halvat tuotteet onko niistä mihinkään ja tulee pulattua niidenkin kanssa koska kitarat on vaan intohimo. Kiitos videoista ukkeli!!!
I love the Wang Bar tests, but not many budget guitars will pass without a little setup. These HB's are pretty good once set up properly. There are better ST types at the same price point or less (Indio HSS Cali, Donner HSS)
@@MrPolevaulter it was time for some "true" reviews!! Have you heard the last video from Rhett shutt bout an epiphone Vs Gibson original burst vintage comparo! I can hear the epi is sounding crap from the speakers of the phone but they continue telling the people that its an extraordinary les paul
I have a JHS vintage brand Strat, so it has all the Wilkinson hardware on it. The trem block is chunky and the whole thing is super resonant. I recently upgraded the electronics and it sounds crazy good. All in (guitar, parts and luthier) it has cost me as much as a Mexican Fender. But yeah not worth doing to a guitar with a skinny tone sucking trem.
I own this guitar. It sounds freakin great but the neck pickup went out and I got lucky and re-soldered the wire on the neck pickup and fixed the issue. I was thinking it was the switch but it was the pickup. This guitar sounds BEEFY like a stray should. For the Money, this one is a good buy.
So you say, "for the price, can you get better ones? yeah..." OK, not being challenging but in all sincere interest - name 'em. I am curious and want to check it out. It is currently $145...
Harley Benton HWY-25BKS Progressive Series. 😀
@@MrPolevaulter yep oh oki ! do you have a good recommendation for a not too big size not too parlor size folk between 170 and around 300 bucks or 350 ?

Every so often I get tempted by one Harley Benton model or another, but there is such a love/ hate thing with this brand, that it turns me off. Lately I’ve been tempted by their LP DC P90 Junior clone. Anyone have any opinions about those?
@@norseman61 For a pickup on a cheap guitar they’re great. A shade thinner than you’d expect a P90 in single coil and a bit warmer as a humbucker. It’s really responsive to picking style and position though, which is useful in a single pick-up guitar. I’ve got 10 guitars (all sub £500) and the DC is probably my favourite.

How does it feel in hand compared to a yamaha pacifica?
It's been a while since I tried a Pacifica. Can't really say. Generally I'd say the 112V was better.
Pacifica has better overall feel and quality. Used market price for a mint one is $100 U.S.
I'm hearing a lot of bad things about HB Quality issues in the U.S. but they are nice looking. Think I will wait until the dust settles with them.
Shipping is probably doing them no favours, changes in temp/humidity and being thrown around the place😂
