Thanks! Been looking for a guid for ages. bought some cheap LED prewired strips to use, but then couldn't find any easy tutorial on how to power them, lol. Seems I can get a 12V power adapter, and a jack, and stick the wires into the jack? Trying to make some lamps, but it seems after I get everything I need, it'll end up being more expensive lol

@@thedarkpower I just ordered some transparent filaments. Winter which is a color change blue to white and Starry Sky which is a purple black from Ziro. Can't wait to mess around with LEDs!
Neat. With regards to the led strips, i found some that work off a 5v usb power. For the project i'm working on i find this more convenient as i already have plenty of usb power supply plugs (for my phone, tablet and cameras). And then there's the usb battery packs i bought from the pound shop... you get the idea :)
Awesome.video and ideas. May I suggest looking up “LED projects”, basic LED projects” and/or “logic chip LED projects” here on RUclips? Logic chip are the old IC microchip that you can use to light up your LEDs with cool effects, without having to program them, just follow the really easy to read connection and wiring, specially using breadboards, which come in a variety of sizes. I made an LED chaser or “Larsen lights” named after the creator of The old TV shows Battlestar Galactica Cylons and Knight Rider, KITT’s Flashing lights(with a 555 timer and 4017 decade counter and diodes) I didn’t have any experience with electronics, at all when I wanted the scanning lights to stand as eyes, much like the Cylon s but blue. For a metal mask I made. When I found a step by step diagram of this project, it was like putting a bike together following pictorial instructions, just place the components as they show you, no math, no soldering and literally no experience. I now understand the very basics of electronics via experimenting with these projects. Thanks for the tip, I'll check it out. I remember making a distortion pedal for my guitar out of a 555 op amp back in school and a a demultiplexer which basically did a similar cylon style effect. That knowledge has long since left me though, so it'd be good to relearn that type of thing!
Just discovered your channel today after researching forced patina methods. I have four brass panels on the go right now. It's artists like you that get my creative juices flowing. I'm also a uranium glass collector. You should consider using uranium glass back lit with ultra violet LED's in your projects. Would make cool glowing green eye's. Cheers.
Thanks Greg, I do love patination it's a really interesting technique. Ah, cool idea on the uranium glass. I've had a go with UV LEDs and fluorescent paint, but that's a great idea. Cheers!

Yep it's a good idea, I was looking into using one of those usb powered phone rechargers to power some stuff, seemed like a decent solution.
