Either by clarifying that, "actually, I've totally had that thought, too, and you're not crazy" or "you're the third person this week to say exactly that." It's like, I know there are people in the same spot, but it still feels like everyone but me has and does. Yea, he's really attractive cosmetically, but he's still a virgin. I think that a lot of virgins are only that way because of what they put on themselves. I'm not quite as old but I've never kissed a girl either, I dated a girl for years who only used me for food/presents (and she got dick when she wanted it lol, but not from me).
      There have been girls who are into to me, but either because of my anxiety, insecurities or me just not liking them back I've never truly had a romantic relationship go anywhere. Maybe it's the same for you too.
      I mean, people tell me I'm attractive even tho I feel ugly, and if I'm being completely honest I think I could pick up a girl if I wanted to. But I'm so afraid I don't try and that's probably more of the reason I'm a virgin than my nose or whatever.

    "I'm never having kids." I hate when people just automatically assume that because I am woman that I like and want children. I don't want kids, they cry too much. My sister fed her baby, changed it's diaper and played with it but it still kept crying as if wants to be attached to her 24/7 I couldn't deal with that. And she is a single mother with 3 other kids so she doesn't get a break.

    • @camilog777
      @camilog777 5 лет назад +10

      And why do you hate that? biologically most women like children, it makes sense that if you don't know if a woman wants or not to have childrens, your bet will be on yes, because that's the most probable bet...ppl are not mind readers, and they aren't telling you "YOU WANT TO HAVE CHILDREN, PERIOD" (ok some of them do, but those are a minority of assholes wich at the end of the day it's still not worth getting annoyed by), they are assuming something about you that they don't know, and they are guessing based on the most probable thing, i don't see how can you find that as a problem

    • @MidnightSonnet
      @MidnightSonnet 5 лет назад +52

      @@camilog777 Stepping in here to disagree on a couple of things. Biologically, women may "like" children, but that doesn't mean they'll want them. It's not that people should read minds. It's that people (especially women) need to not assume that every girl is dreaming of a future family. Statistically, 1 in 5 women will refuse to have children, which is a massive amount. When my doctor told me that, I was shocked and felt much less alone. Girls who do want to have kids later on in life won't mind all the subliminal harassment from women about the topic. But when you're someone like me, the person who commented above, and 1 in 5 women, the nonstop fucking nagging you get from women about "you'll change your mind when you get older" and "when you reach a certain age, you'll realize something is missing, and that'll be kids" and "life is pointless without children in your life" and "you're young, you have no idea what you're talking about". And don't get me started on the damn guilt trips. "What if your mother wants grandkids?" "What if your husband wants children?" "What will others think of you?" "Your biological clock is ticking." "You'll regret it someday."
      I dealt with that kind of mindless, incessant, insensitive BS from so many damn older women, it got to the point where I constantly wondered if something was wrong with ME for not wanting kids. Those horrible repeated phrases were spoken so often to me, that it made me question my damn sanity on several occasions, but thankfully, never completely. The societal pressure for women to get married and have kids is so astronomical, it's a massive problem. Women like me are considered strange and abnormal for not wanting to be baby makers. Yet we hold a very large majority. People NEED to realize it's not the damn dream of every young girl. Oddly enough, in my experience, men have been far more understanding and accepting of my decision. Go figure.
      One of the happiest days of my life was when I got a tubal ligation (not the clamp, but the more permanent option of burning the tubes). It was an awful experience, due to my OBGYN being a complete asshole that I should have sued, but I don't regret the operation. Even though I was in so much pain, I felt complete. I felt more me. I no longer feared pregnancy. Funny enough, most of the harassment stopped after I got the operation, thank goodness. Still happens, but now it's more of a "you'll regret it!" and "that's awful!" kind of situation, which I shrug off.
      So, you may think it's a "minority" of women that say (between the lines of their condescending BS) "YOU WANT TO HAVE CHILDREN, PERIOD", but trust me when I say, it's not. Most older women will not support your decision and do everything they can to change your mind, because they think it's the destiny of every woman with a functioning uterus to have sperm shoved in them and produce offspring.
      If you want kids, great. Of course you wouldn't be privy to the harassment if your goals align with other women's. They'll be happy for you, not disappointed. For the rest of us, it's like fighting off a swarm of wasps that try very hard to make you feel like a bad person for not wanting kids.

    What the brunette said really hit close to home. I love my friend, I really do. But I just, can't deal with their problems, issues, depression. I mean, I have my own stuff too that is pretty heavy to carry and another one would really break me. But I do want them to get better yet it's just, I'm not thw perfect person for them to run to. I don't make very insightful comments. I don't make good advices. Heck, I'm not even a good listener as well. But the thing is, I feel like shit when they talk about their problems to me, but thinking about that makes me feel like a bad friend and makes me feel even shittier too. And just. I feel like a hypocrite too because I also want people to listen to my shit. It's just, very messy and fucked up I think. I can really relate. My friend and I both have depression but they're more vocal about it. They constantly text me (I left my phone alone for 20 minutes and I had 50 text messages from them) about their problems and it's suffocating. I can't deal with them constantly telling me about their self-harm habits and how they want to die especially when I'm dealing with the same stuff but much more internalized. I feel like the worst person in the world for not wanting to deal with them anymore but it just feels like I'm having everything dumped onto me and I'm being treated like a therapist rather than a friend.

      Hey, I usually don't comment on videos or reply to anyone, but I read what you said and I wanted to say that what you're feeling is valid; it doesn't make you a bad person because you obviously still care about your friend, from what you've said here
      It really can be tough in friendships when you both have mental illnesses or even not that at all and you just have a lot going on and a lot on your plate at the moment, especially if one person in the relationship (platonic or not) has nobody else to go to and can only go to you for comfort, advice, or even just a listening ear
      I really do think, (and I apologize if I'm pushing it, I'd just at least like to give you some advice cause I'd like to help you out, and you're not obligated at all to listen, since I am just a stranger on the internet after all) that you should try, if you haven't already, to sit down with your friend and try to at the very least let them know what's going on with you
      Communication in any sort of relationship is key, and things that are left undealt with will always snowball into something way bigger, even if it's the smallest little frustrations you could have with them
      I know I don't know your situation, but from what you said, it seems like you might benefit from trying to find a therapist, if you don't already have one or if you have access or the ability to get one
      Your friend could also really benefit too, cause from what I gathered from what you had said, it seems like they have nobody else to go to but you, and it's really straining your guys' relationship, and that's isn't good :c
      Maybe if you both are able to, you could sit down with them as well and be like, "Hey, how do you think about looking into therapists together?" So that it could not be as bad or scary or difficult
      I know that you posted this about 5 months ago so I'm pretty late but I hope this helped at least a little bit and that you see it and that things might be better for you now? I hope you have a fantastic day and that things with your friend can get figured out, you deserve to be happy 💜

      I know how you feel. If it's causing you problems or if it's too much to take, you might want to have a talk with them, set some boundaries, have them ask first if you're able to spend the emotional labor on them at that time. It's important to take care of your friends but it's more important to take care of yourself. Give the same respect to people you vent to as well and sort of ask them if they're ready to hear it or not, doing that honestly helps a lot.

      INTJ hazel a lot of people see therapists for this exact reason. im not sure how much it costs in europe, but in america therapists cost from between 30-80 dollars an hour, and you can just book an appointment for one hour a week, or a month, or however long you want to wait in between visits.

    • @gangl1234
      @gangl1234 6 лет назад +2

      Skywinggss Well, the cost depends on what insurance you have. I don't pay a dime out of pocket on mine. But the problem here is (and I hear wait times/frequency of visits are worse in places like the UK), for some of us, we don't need to be locked in a ward, but we need more than 45 minutes a week every week, and just *no one* offers that. There's no in between, unless you count these 'partial inpatient programs', where it's basically like going to school in terms of time commitment, but it's just group therapy for 6-7 hours 5 days a week; and group therapy doesn't work for all of us. There needs to be more options, especially with how prevalent actual long term mental illness (as opposed to an acute bout of depression from say, grieving the loss of a loved one) is these days.

      @aapjew18 7 лет назад +65

      Well, I think people don't say this stuff mostly because they're afraid. Afraid of judgement. Talking about this kind of stuff really shows who you are, it reveals the sides of you that others might not like, or even hate. And if the people closest to you don't like some of these aspects about you, it can really affect your relationship with them, which, being a very social species, can be awful for people. And you could say 'well if they don't accept or like these aspects about you they're not worth hanging out with in the first place', but people are so diverse, the chances that there's even one person among your friends who can listen to your every deep thought and not find something they don't like is so incredibly small, it's not realistic to only want friends who are ok with everything.

      I think it's why you run into people online who say horrible things, but even THEN there's not a sense of complete anonymity. So you still show off with your words, try to challenge people in case they follow your screen name. There are quite a few times I want to say something, but I bite back, and it eats away at my insides like acid. It would be healthier to admit to these terrible things, but people can't admit terrible things about themselves to other people for fear of being ousted from society. Everyone needs some form of socialization or another.

    *warning, confession* I think its wrong for people to judge others based on societies standards. Like, just because we were raised to believe a certain thing, that the moment we try to question it, members of our own species attack relentlessly just because its unknown and scary. For example, I flat out dont believe in marriage. Not because I fear commitment, but on the contrary. One of my closest friends has parents that have been together for over 40 years, and not once considered marriage. They loved each other, and knowing that at any moment they could back out of it when the love didnt exist, made it all that more real. I want that kind of love.

    • @viv7810
      @viv7810 5 лет назад +2

      Not to mention that marriages in some cultures are meant as some kind of ownership into one's own family unit. To this day, females still have to change their surnames to their spouses; as though they are no longer part of their own family anymore.

      @@jonahtristan1062 we live in a post-modern world, it is where a lot of things, including morality and truth have become subjective, and that is a major problem. If morality and truth are subjective, then what is the point of all of it? I unlike most people in this pathetic culture we live in, reject relativism, it is destructive and it has led to the kind of culture we live in today which I would say is cynical, ugly, vulgar, and godless.

    I SWEAR TO MYSELF AND ANYONE WHO READS THIS: IF I EVER GET THE FUNDS TO MAKE ONE OF THESE, I WILL MAKE IT. Multiple if I can. Just think of how better this world could be if these existed. As it shows in the video, just talking about your issues, not even expecting someone to help solve a problem, just to listen, can be incredibly therapeutic. People wouldn't be so depressed or sad or angry or whatever because they wouldn't be holding on to it anymore. The burden of holding things in can be unhealthy. As it's been said getting your thoughts out can be like taking a great weight off your chest. And maybe, just maybe, everyone would be happier, more willing to be nice and friendly with others instead of just cold and uncaring. As the song in the movie Holes goes: If only, if only.

      And plus, this is kinda like going to a therapist or counselor but way cheaper, and in my opinion, this booth thing would be way better because sometimes, a lot of people don’t have the money to go to a counselor, and plus, because it’s anonymous and they can’t tell who you are, and I would definitely feel a lot better going to a confession booth than a counselor, trust me, I’ve been to a counselor before, and I felt super awkward almost every session. I agree with you, the world would be a happier place if this existed, if a scientist with the power to do this thing, do it, and if it works, and if you can, make at least 10 booths in each state

    What I love about this series is that even when there's a character I dislike or I find annoying, he/she ends up saying something really insightful or relatable that makes me look past my initial impression of them. Even if I still don't like the character by the end of the episode and don't agree with a lot of their viewpoints, I still appreciate the basic human-ness of their experience and can see them in a more nuanced, three-dimensional light than just "I don't like this person for XYZ reason."
    Also, side note, I realize that I tend to get annoyed by characters that either hit uncomfortably close to home to my personal flaws and insecurities, or say things that remind me of times I was hurt by other people and project my old anger and disillusionment onto them. Incredible work, Cracked, you've made a short series that's not only deeply relatable, but also shows so much of the viewing audience to themselves.

    The song is called people of the sky by Sloan. I love this series. its made me think about stuff that's been going on in my life that been kind of difficult. its also made me laugh. its weird series that makes you think. because in a way its the most relatable thing in the world but at the same time not. instead of trying to flood your brain with endorphins like a romance, or a horror where it gives you a quick shot of adrenaline, its uses very real characters that everyone can see in themselves. it looks at the complexities of mental health and also the other side of the coin with people who suffer from friends with other than normal mental health. because in reality whatever it may be (depression, anxiety, etc) there is no one who comes out of it better than anyone else. it's not unnecessarily brutal or overly pandering. It just says it out it sees it.

There are even contents which were so relatable that I didn't even know I was facing myself. Comparing your problems to the problems others have is actually unhealthy. I could have gone through a far worse experience than you so in comparison maybe your experience doesn't seem so bad but it's still the worst experience that you personally have had and that can be rough. I'm sure if we read Harry Potter from Malfoy's point of view, Harry's problems and achievements wouldn't seem that great.

    • @patrickhector
      @patrickhector 7 лет назад +13

      I never liked hearing that everyone (yes, it was always "everyone") had the same problems as me, because that meant that i was obviously /that/ much worse at functioning on a basic human level since everyone else apparently dealt woth their problems perfectly fine.
      (For the record, my problems consisted of complete meltdowns that resulted in half my brain screaming to break stuff and the other half saying "Don't! You'll regret it so much later!", creating a feedback loop of bullshit)

    • @andersoncherub
      @andersoncherub 7 лет назад +1

      blondshampoo, I feel something similar. It's like, everyone has problems and some people deal better than others (at least publicly), but I sometimes just wish the world would stop so everyone could take a moment to give me the recognition I deserve for dealing with my shit. Then there's people who get so upset over the pettiest things and I feel like smacking them because my world is collapsing but I still manage to drag my butt to work and put on a smile. I guess saying this is exactly what you kinda hate. But, for what it's worth, I'm taking a moment to appreciate that you probably have some major crap to deal with and I'm proud of you for hanging in there.

      The Personal Fable is a belief held by many adolescents telling them that they are special and unique, so much so that none of life's difficulties or problems will affect them regardless of their behavior. Sorry I'm I psych major and I had to say it.

      The Personal Fable sounds really interesting.
      On a semi-related note, I sometimes go into a bit of a daydream about talking my problems to an imaginary audience/friend. I figure there's no harm in it as I know its just fiction and it doesn't apply to reality. Particularly as there I things I can't tell my friends because they are embarrassing/hurtful/seem insignificant to anyone else/hard to say. So it's easier to imagine someone who truly isn't going to judge and knows exactly which question to ask/not ask.

    Ok but I relate to what the chick said at 3:10 SO MUCH
    It's just that I don't care whatever I'm called and don't really correct people if they misgender me, especially on the internet, but also I don't want to identify as anything else than female because most people see and call me that straight away, but also if I was born male or intersex or looked androgynous I wouldn't care either! I just don't get some of the weight people put on gender, like yeah okay biological differences aside, you shouldn't switch your game when you find out I'm a chick instead of a guy. I don't understand all the hassle around it, and while I'm nowhere near against them, the fact transgender/sexual people care so much enough to transition/identify otherwise bemuses me. If it makes them happy I'm happy for them, but to go through all that trouble for something I view as so insignificant...! Basically if I make no sense go check out Vi Hart's video on gender. That's exactly how I feel, minus the thinking everyone else feels the same.

    • @salmourn7316

      gosh same. im biologically a girl but like... i don't _care_ at all? sometimes i wanna officially state that people can call me by he and i'd be fine by it; that i totally accept it as part of myself, but i'm afraid of people questioning my identity further.

    • @tobillocheville5272
      @tobillocheville5272 5 лет назад +7

      Honestly, same. I remember when a whole bunch of my friends started holding their gender as like the main thing that defines them and I just didn’t understand. I even thought I was agender for a while because I felt nothing in me telling me that I was anything. But then, I found myself constantly forgetting to tell people because I just couldn’t care less. At this point, I’m a girl simply because that’s what I am biologically and I don’t care enough to try and question that.

    • @QteaTheSwag

    3:39 You know despite the fact that what she said in some rude way, she's not wrong. I had a friend too how talked about her depression all the time. I was always the one person how needed me the most, no really she always wanted to talk about it. I've done everything to make her feel better; hang out together, help her out with homework and things she missed when she was absent (she was mostly home half of her year). My biggest flaw of helping her and people in general is just that I am not a lack empathy and giving comfort. No I'm not a sociopath, I don't hang out with a lot of people. I was mostly alone and prefer being in my on space kinda like a loner. At least I just to. I myself I have problems too. I have a lot of self-doubt and self loathing despite living in a great homes and having lovely people. I sometimes feel anxious when everyone in my class is social and always know what to say. I am more quiet and I am not talkative. So there are things that bothered me and I sometimes feel like I don't belong there. back to my friend. I was still worried for everytime she talked about her suicidal thoughts and later on not going to school. I was so worried I didn't sleep that night and have been imagine the worst cause scenario If she'd actually done it. (she's still alive) I wanted her to be happy I've gave solutions and said she's not alone. She only wanted emotional comfort which I am awful at doing it. the next day I tried to hug her, she responded negatively and that ended up in a fight. We had a lot of argument before but it was okay after that. But this one was so heavy handed that we both said things that made us regret it later. After that the principal called on me (the argument was all happening in school). He asked of why I did all this, because apparently she talk about it to the principal. I have told him everything even the depression part that it was supposed to be a secret. I didn't get punished but I asked to him if I be sitting alone in class on the inter week of exams. Now we don't talk anymore I cut all ties with her. keep in mind that it has been 7 months that she talked about it and constantly too. I did my best to make her feel better. Now I am just suffering of lack of sleep, lack of food, having so much guilty and more self doubt and misery I've ever had in my life. I know this comment will probably wash away like the rest of the comments but please also look at the supports how are dealing with this. A supporter can suffer too because of the person they care about say that there never okay. I know that are supporters how can deal with it and others don't.
    but that is my thoughts on this because I can completely understand what she's coming from. even though it was rude, it is the painful truth

    • @misanthropicalien
      @misanthropicalien 6 лет назад +11

      I've been in a similar situation before, it sucks :/ It's important to put yourself first, and that doesn't make you selfish at all, it's not gonna do anyone any good if both of you are just feeling like crap all the time.
      I also do kinda get where your friend is coming from though, I struggle with depressions and if it gets bad it can be difficult to think or talk about anything else, especially if someone is willing to listen because it just completely takes over your mind. I generally try not to do that tho just because I've also been on the opposite end of the situation and it's bad.
      The friend I had to deal with often tried to guilt trip me whenever I tried to get some sleep or if I was out with my family doing something fun and enjoying myself (she started doing it a lot while I went on holiday, which I didn't wanna go on in the first place because she couldn't come with and I was so worried about her.) and get mad at me for focusing on anything else but her, she also would send me pictures of her sh and stuff, knowing how triggering I found it considering I was trying to get better. Which also, she completely left me all alone when I started making any progress with my depression too. Most of my close friends then did, or they distanced them selves, which just led me to getting worse again and having nobody to help at all. Idk I'm p sure my friend did try to make me feel like shit intentionally rather than just genuinely wanting help, I have recently heard from one of her friends that she's been using and lying to p much everyone around her so eh.
      This went a bit off topic, but what I was trying to say mainly is that there's no need to feel guilty about it, you need to put yourself first, your feelings aren't any less valid or important than your friends, even if your friend depressed and suicidal.

      SpaceStar
      Thank you for reading it through. I wasn't really guilt tripped by her because she would always distant herself from me if I tell her when I was genuinely worried.
      Or she would say I don't understand her feelings at all and that my definition of friendship is rather selfish. I never experienced a deep bond of friendship. Because most of my friendships ended short or never really paid that much attention. Heck I had one but that friend left because of the bulling. I was mostly focussed on my studies and get better grades to succeed my next test that I failed at countless times. I did feel empty when that friend left but she's doing better on her other school. Back to my other friend. Which I will call "her" for now on. We had a lot of similar ideas and some complex outlooks on life that made use closer. But after that "fight" (if I should put it like that) really broke me and my way of dealing with people. At the end of summer vacation together with my family I had the feeling that I could move forward. And that the frist day of school came and I could feel the weight of misery hanging up on me. It was really stressful and even now can even look "her" in the eye. I want to apologize because I haven't apologize to "her" yet but the self-doubt and the really wasn't feeling comfortable to it. I had another friend besides her but he is really popular and difficult to approach. For now I want to now his perspective and answer if he really will be there for me because my thoughts and emotions prevent me to speak up how I actually feel. And him having a popular status makes things more difficult to handle. I could do it on a text message but I want to see his reaction rather than reading his text message. If he is not open in helping me or is very against it. I'll have to look out for myself first then staying with him too. Overall it pretty stressful for me but I stay determined. Fir "her"? I think she has to deal this on her own as well because I tried everything I could to comfort her but was still not pleased about it.

    holy shit. This literally made me tear up. Like... what the fuck???
    I kinda thought the show would be less good than it was... that the "trailer" episode from so long ago was exactly what the show was going to be, just sorta... exploring a world without really going too much in, depth-wise... It was interesting, sure... but it didn't really wow me in the way some people seemed to be wow-ed by it. It was just saying "there are all kinds of people" and that seemed, at the time, to me, to be all they were really saying: don't judge a book by its cover. But that isn't what the show is about, really... or maybe it is, kind of? But... yeah.
    I just watched the speed dating episode. I intend on watching the whole series.
    Please. If you're still reading this... if you ever were... Please don't stop making this, so long as you still can. Don't let something shitty stop this from happening. This show is amazing, and inspiring and... It's wonderful, ok? I just don't wanna hear that it got cancelled or something because it dropped a few thousand views in ratings, or because there was an argument that brewed up between creators and distributors... or... you know... the shitty kinda stuff that got all sorts of good shows and games and whatever else to stop, you know?
    Damn. To think this would be featured on Cracked of all channels... I thought they were just a bunch of pop-culture spouting goons (which, yeah, that has it's place, and I love 'em for it) but this is... damn fine of them to support, however it is they are supporting it. Be it their writers helping, their brand financing or simply their channel hosting it... damn fine.
    I think I'm done.

    I like this format for this artist than the comic format, mostly because the HUUUGGEEEE textboxes in the comics can be really intimidating ,and something about having the voice and the good vocal pacing/editing really help to sell the humor and writing more than the comics. It just plays more to the strong suit of animation than it plays to the strong suit of comics (I still like the comics, just saying it seems a better fit in this format)
