    Thanks for the inspiration. I've been in a serious funk and was looking for a boost, something to help me get excited about my old Shasta reno. Your videos were just what I needed. Really enjoy the quality craftsmanship and simplicity of your style. Thank you.

    Welcome back! I’m glad that your photo booth business is doing so well.
    I just returned from the storage yard where we keep our ‘69 Gold Star travel trailer that I restored. It had about 12” of heavy snow on top that I removed from last Saturday’s storm here in Colorado. Unfortunately we don’t have room to store it at our house. It would be nice to have it under a cover but I’ve no doubt a HF cover would have suffered the same damage. So…shoveling it is!
    I look forward to future videos.

    • @TrailerTrashtoTreasure
      @TrailerTrashtoTreasure  8 месяцев назад

      Yeah, this was only 7" of snow, but I had let the tarp get a bit saggy and it really accumulated fast up top (should've put new bungies on it awhile ago). There are some more expensive canopies that supposedly can hold up to some snow, but we don't really get much here very often.

      Yeah just something a few feet longer would be nice. I don't want to give up the flexibility of a small camper, but I feel like something with a wet bath would open up a lot of additional camping locations.

    Glad to see you're back. We understand about going to a bigger camper. We started restoration on our Shasta and then thinking we could do a couple small repairs to our truck camper. Now we are at the point of getting ready to sell the Shasta and keep our Wolverine.

    • @TrailerTrashtoTreasure
      @TrailerTrashtoTreasure  8 месяцев назад

      Yeah, I think it'd be nice to at least have a small wet bath, and a little larger bed. I still don't want anything over 20', 'cause I love the flexibility of a small camper.

    I just rewatch all your videos, very informative. Have you ever thought about designing and building your own?

    • @TrailerTrashtoTreasure
      @TrailerTrashtoTreasure  8 месяцев назад

      Thanks for all the views! Basically I am designing and building my own, lol! The only problem with starting from scratch is titling and registering it. You basically end up with a home built camper title and some insurance companies are reluctant to insure those, and your resale value is questionable.

    Glad youre back at it! Excited to see where you finally take this one. We are just renovating our trailer and started vloging the progress. What camera do you use for your videos? You do a fine job documenting the progress

    • @TrailerTrashtoTreasure
      @TrailerTrashtoTreasure  7 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks, hopefully making some real progress soon!
      Our early videos were shot on a Canon EOS M50 with its kit lens. It had a really convenient time lapse feature built-in that I used to use a lot, but the video quality settings were pretty nearly maxed out. I'm using a much nicer Fuji X-T4 right now, most often with the 16-80/4.0 on it. It doesn't have the time lapse built in, but it's a far better camera in every other way. I don't actually use many of the more higher-end video settings because it kinda chokes my computer trying to edit it, and I don't really think it'd improve the RUclips channel to be rocking 4K.
      I use the X-T4 shooting events and for other things, so it's perhaps a little over spec'd for just video work, but the X-S20 is a great vlogging camera as well, and it's somewhat smaller, lighter, and cheaper. The newer X-T5 is another great camera, but it lacks the fully articulating screen of the X-T4 and X-S20, and you have to go up to the even higher-end X-H2 to get it back.
      I've been in the photo industry for about 25 years, so I like to talk cameras. 😁 Good luck on your project!

    So did you decide that you needed to build the structural support cabinets before adding the side walls? Is that why you need to do some more demolition on what you had rebuilt?

    • @TrailerTrashtoTreasure
      @TrailerTrashtoTreasure  4 месяца назад +1

      Sort of, I decided that it would probably take longer to build the cabinets with the wrap in place than it would to tear it out, put the cabinets in and rewrap it. I got way ahead of myself for no good reason when I stopped working on it the first time, so now I need to go back and do a bit of rework. Haste makes waste.
      Unfortunately, I've been way too busy with my actual job to make much progress on it.

  • @jerrytalley802
    @jerrytalley802 8 месяцев назад

    Conan, so did the AC work well being down at the floor? We know hot air rises so in theory it shouldn’t work well, but let us know, thanks

    • @TrailerTrashtoTreasure
      @TrailerTrashtoTreasure  8 месяцев назад

      So I never really got to use it much before I sold that camper, but I followed up with the current owner and she said a fan circulating the air on the floor helps a lot (which had been my suggestion to them), but she said it's not quite a large enough unit to cool it down when it's parked in full sun. Otherwise she said it's been great.
      On the Cal-Craft I'm planning to mount it up near the ceiling, but I'm still sort of working through my interior design.
