The greatest 4 hands by the greatest composer in history. It was composed last year of his life and his love for his pupil, Countess Caroline, was not returned. Maria’s bowed head at the end seems to fit this wonderful composition. His music lives from here to eternity.
The 3 guys sitting in the audience, second row on the right: the old retired Don, his son who currently runs the business, and the grandson who does the dirty work.
Contrast between Maria Joao and Lilit: the first one calm, not moving , her energy contained, focused..... and Lilit swaing back and forth, making quite of a show with her hands, her head and her body... Here is the big difference between the master and the pupil. The performance is nevertheless very good! Why do some young pianists have to be so demonstrative (Lang Lang, Khatia Buniatishvili!!) ? If you watch Horowitz, Rubinstein, Barenboin, Martha Argerich and many other ones, they do not make a show of themselves when they perform. Is that a new "trend"? It does not add anything, quite the contrary.
That 'pupil' needs encouragement, not to see a comment like this. To my professional opinion, and I am a pianist and piano educator, they played this piece very well. In perfect unison. I did not hear the 'big difference' you are talking about at all. In fact I did not hear any difference. If Lilit swayed a bit, well, we all express ourselves differently when we play. What is important is - music. So stop looking, close your eyes and - listen. And - be kind.
@@Xenia-E-Zilli I said the performance is ok but just tell them to be more "sober", reserved If the pianist is good, no need to make a show of him or herself. Sometimes it borders on the ridiculous!
@@mariejosf I don't see anything ridiculous in this video. I am sure Ms Pires, who I greatly admire, would not participate in anything ridiculous either.
Thrilling main theme melody and one of the best dramatic ever composed cadence at the end. Stunning work ❤

Indeed it does. The gesture fits the utter finality of that music and its circumstances to a tee.
The soft tones are meticulously played making the entire piece so colorful.
It always make me shed a tear. Such a wonderful composition
Excellent performance, BRAVO

MARAVILLOSO!!!
They play this so differently with depth and the gorgeous textures are something else here nothing like in the MmeSousatka film.
Congrats... Lovely performance. Thank you. Heartwarming and sweet duo.
This is the best performance I have ever heard

Csodálatos, a kedvenc négykezesemet gyakran hallgatom, külömböző előadásoban,ez kiválló!
Excelente apresentação.

if i played piano i would probably make those faces just like you Lilit, great performance btw

Mads mikkelsen and Another Round movie, brought me here.

: How unpleasant to read a comment that has nothing to do with the music and that judges people by appearances and stereotypes.
@@jsbrules We are all judged by our appearance and based on stereotypes, constantly. If we weren't, we would go to concerts in our pyjamas.
@@jsbrules I laughed about Hans' comment :D nothing against some fun now and then :-)
@@jsbrules Oh, it was just a joke, he's not judging those people, and he is not necessarily disinterested about the music either.
Cmon...it's funny 😂

Lovely, but I feel the bassline was too soft at the start and in many places throughout. Thank you for sharing.
Agree 100% with Ladyme, below

Version of Lang Lang and Marc Yu is emotionally better, in my opinion.
Much better, I agree. But the best of all is from Imogen Cooper and Paul Lewis !
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Dat crowd is old. They pbbly all died of Covid.
