Not just that, but hawaii is actually native land belonging to a once sovereign nation who were part of the commonwealth until america took it over and colonized it as a military base. “1million dollars in today’s currency” is WILD when you realize what minimum wage was back then, and by minimum i mean, lowest anyone would pay, not todays term as in what they HAD to pay,
Partly to psyche themselves up, but probably mostly to hide their identities. Despite being one of the three largest cities in the original English colonies, Boston in the 1770s still only had a population of about 15,000 people. It wasn't quite so small that everyone in town knew everyone else, but it wasn't much larger than that, and many of the local troublemakers already had a reputation. Painting their faces made them difficult to identify, or at least gave sympathetic witnesses an excuse to claim in court they couldn't see who it was. It wasn't to try to pin the blame on the natives, that would defeat the point of the protest. Plus the few remaining tribes lived far from Boston and had no reason to dump tea in the ocean.
The colonists were mad because they finally wanted to be an own country and giving them more taxes, is quite literally the opposite of giving them free
Nice video but you missed out an important fact. The Americans were losing badly and asked France for help. The French won the American war of independence for you.

Spoiler Alert : History ALWAYS reveals the future of basic human atrocities. Old locks never open new 🚪 doors
Now we’re getting taxed to cover the U.S $31 trillion in debt. Is this what you were insinuating?
Modern human civilization has little to no experience with scarcity of resources. We may turn to these ways again someday.
Shut up Meg

Compared to today. Gas up 8 dollars a gallon and we do NOTHING. MEN of today are cowards.
I know the story behind every single bit
The colonists didn't like paying taxes to maintain redcoats to keep them off Indian lands honoring treaties. This is why they dressed up like Indians.
Thank you for making this video I was having trouble with a homework question and when I found this video you answered it so once again thank you

Today on April 19th 2024 it has been over 500 years since the Boston tea party!😮
Is there a transcription of the video available?
As an American, born and raised, I'm convinced most of us drink coffee instead of tea-because we threw it all into the harbor.
I’m wondering why the patriots dressed up like American Indians? That’s the first time I’ve ever heard that.

Those fishes on the ocean where they dumped the tea are now british speaking creatures rofl
I love the American Revolution.
Basically they threw the tea in the water because of the taxes they don't want to be taxed on the tea.
I have a question why was the colonist mad?
The colonists were mad because they finally wanted to be an own country and giving them more taxes, is quite literally the opposite of giving them free
