Its in kannada language from karnataka. A carnatic music. A bhakti song in devotion to vishnu. Narayana (Sanskrit: नारायण, IAST: Nārāyaṇa) is one of the forms and names of Vishnu, who is in yogic slumber under the celestial waters, referring to the masculine principle.

The vocals are found on disk 3 partition C. There’s a video showing the entire disk and around the 3 hour mark you can hear the chops used

@@SarthakPrusty-yt7jp No it wasn't. That was a false conclusion by that one recent documentary on the sample, and I know what you are talking about, but it's incorrect. He simply picked singers who have RUclips videos of the song recorded, which if you can't see the logic fail in that, I don't know what to tell you. The CEO of Spectrasonics actually said that they often just let random people sing; remember that the Heart of Asia existed long before RUclips, so it could be anyone's voice. I don't speak any Indian languages, but I'm on the hunt, and her voice sounds like it could match with a few that I've found.

We can say Hindu. Because our spiritual hymns converge more than our language because Sanskrit being it's main influence. For eg. Hindi, Marathi and Malyalam are distinct languages, but if you have basic understanding of Sanskrit, the spiritual hymns in each language sound much similar. Note that Hindu was culture also at least on international stage. It's only recent that our main identity is defined by our language and state (something foreigners will never understand and think all Hindus as same).

Sadly there are a lot of vanishing tribal languages in India that most of us don't even know about. A lot of tribal folk music is associated with more guttural and raw vocals and simple one-string instruments, as opposed to the high pitch and orchestrated tonality of Indian classical music. This sample could very well be any type of village/folk singing. Sounds very similar to a Baul/Sylheti sound to me, but music is universal and it's only right and proper that it should hit different for different people across the world! Looking forward to seeing the inevitable history channel documentary about how Yung Lean's producer was probably an alien, though.
