I'm a big fan of make do projects to get the look I love. I collect primitive including some portraits. My granddaughter once asked her mom why Grandma had pictures of ugly children with cats. My grandkids are now young adults and I terribly miss all the fun we had. Give yours a big hug from one of their fans. Your projects were awesome!

But when Claire said "it looked at me" I just cracked up! 😆 what a funny way to say she could see herself in the camera viewfinder! I loved seeing her tiny hands in that first shot, too 😍

I'm excited to do a big Yankee Doodle Dandy decor for the 4th this year, didn't get to do it during the year of chaos! The video I do have posted is from summer before last. It will make a fun task of unboxing my stored patriotic decor since I haven't seen it in a while! 🇺🇸
It is impossible for me to pick a favorite...but if I had to, I guess it would be the marshmallow and Cracker Jack tins. Those turned out so believable. And that rooster must be proudly, but silently, crowing at his fabulous new makeover! You might have struggled with the mechanics and painting of the eagle, but your solutions were creative and look great. Of course that had to be because you had such cute helpers while you worked. Isn't it the best; crafting with the grands. The memories of that time with Miggie will be sweet, for you and them. Their inquisitive, funny questions and comments were the best.....why do you love old things.....😂😂😂 I see future crafters! Hope we see more of them! Thanks for all the great inspiration.❤

The tin dupes did turn out nicely, but from 3 feet away 😉 and that works for me. I've kind of turned a corner with my crafting. Instead of "what's everybody else doing?" I'm now asking myself "how can I make a version of that thing I've always wanted?" It's challenging me to think hard for unexpected materials (synthetic hair for the antique paintbrush). I've got a sizeable list of projects I'm planning to film soon. We are in North Carolina this weekend, twins & their parents are with us, and we are having a wonderful time. Will share pics soon ❤️

Love the cans, I have really wanted the campfire one but so expensive, so great idea to make them.
😃 That has become my new frame of mind: if it's too hard to find, or too expensive, can I make one?? And many times, I can! Currently trying to figure out how to make a demijohn (glass bottle with basket weaving on it) 🤔 💭

Marla, you can add warm water to your paint and bring them back to life.
I should do that to the red lacquer color for sure, just wasn't patient enough to do it for the one spindle! 😄 I'm not sure what to do for the separating and odd smelling blue color though 🤔
My granddaughter tells me iike things "old" but thats the i way i usually buy it. Not much of artist but i do have the supplies to try!
They know my house is full of old things, and I'm sure they're trying to figure out why I wouldn't prefer something fresh and clean 😄 🤣 😂

I got the little girl ornaments last week! They should still have some. I think I could do a better job on the marshmallow tin next time around, but it still looks good from 3 feet away! 😉 I'm feeling better on new meds with a new doctor, and praising God for it!! 🙌
I think I need a new dr. and new drugs also....mine are not working anymore ...

Not yet! We got it in the dry so that we could use it for storage, which was the most urgent need, but it's not pretty yet! We are looking forward to getting it done this summer, and I will be filming for sure! We got too exhausted by last fall and had to hit the pause button til warmer weather 😄

Aaahhhh!! I have never seen one in person, not even in an antique store. I wonder if that brand was not common here in the south (Alabama). But my dupe is great until I do find one I can afford!
