At least you had a store to go pick it up the same day. The first major run I did with mine the solder came off the power connectors. The boat was dead in the water. Traxxas doesn't always do a good job. I was bummed out.
Dang that is a bummer, I agree luckily they had the part in stock, but now I just realized the rudder doesnt pick up enough water to cool off the esc and motor 😬

What battery’s did you use? And yep pays to go over critical bolts on all rcs spur gears on on my cars would get red lock tight same as wheel nuts n boat propeller n motor but ya work it out after a couple of times wen new out of the box fail like that
I use hoovo batteries i bought on amazon. So far I had no issues with them
I run myn on 4s first up out of the box just to break things in and get used to the way it handles

Yes that will work, I mostly use 50C or higher
What a shocker with Traxxas lately.
Bought a brand new Tmaxx & they didn’t tighten the slipper clutch enough so during break in the pads disintegrated. Called Tmaxx & the Tech I spoke to said the same thing happened to him with his new Tmaxx and Revo….

Just finished upgrading mine havent ran it yet i put a dual rudder pickup and upgraded cooling all the bells and wistles from hot racing i cant wait to take it out

@@FivoNine yeah do it i got the upgraded trim tabs,motor heat sink by hot racing is nice, dual rudder outlet, its ready for those hot days and i got a new brass prop i suggest buying the rc boat bits trim tabs though there better

This boats is best suited for straight-line racing. The Spartan is so much better for water bashing. It cuts through wakes & chop nicer and jumps small wave ms better.

So far no breaks in it, as long as you dont hit anything it should be be fine
Any issues yet? I have a snap on m41 that goes through flex cables and couplers like no tomorrow.
So far no issues besides losing the flex cable on first day 😅
Lock tight buddy and file or bring a flat spot onto the shaft for set screws

So is it pretty easy to drive?? It says you have to reduce speed going around corners or it gets too hot how hot is it after you finish running???
Im not sure how hot its gets exactly but on choppy waters you do want to reduce speed in corners and always make sure the cooling system is working and not clogged up. I got close to the shore and had some dirt go into the propeller and stopped the cooling from getting water so always keep you eye on that
Okay I'm looking at getting the dual water system where it cools both engine and esc separate

Mine ran out of battery power in the controller and went into a run away and smashed into the bank almost full power nothing I could do except get to it as fast as possible and shut It down as it was running full power on the bank, thank goodness it didn’t start on fire, learned the hard way check your controller batteries before each run 😢

Hopfully I get same sort of speed with my new m40 wen it shows up along with 4 11.1 5000 batteries also got my self the max 1/6 truck back into the rc thing after near 10 years break

There is a break in procedure for a brushless motor just like any motor

@@FivoNine problem was boat way synced into training mode got it in sport mode and she’s a ripper now! Did the brass prop upgrade and now boat runs like crap, gonna go back to plastic!
The same thing happened to me. Didn’t check the collet. Had to wait a week for parts. Now I have a flex saver so it won’t happen again

I almost got that boat , but I'm in the waiting syndrome for the pro boat 36" miss gieco , AGAIN ! We need to together n race boats , I e got a ski boat that I do boats from , works pretty well , able to search for the perfect spot ,cool video , I'll be doing my own video on miss gieco soon
I know we still need to get together, I think I'll be out on the water more often with this boat, looking forward to that video 👍

What batteries were you using and how long did they last?
two Lectron Pro 3S 5200mAh....probably 10 min
That's about normal I run HRB 6000mah packs and I get 15 -20 mins
Gonna get some more packs

Thats kinda hard to decided 😅 I dont know if Spartan has self righting but M41 doesn't so if you flip you have to go get it yourself

Put the prop shaft tube out the very back and put it up a little you want have as many issues hitting waves 🤝

Alot of people burn there motors or over heat because they just hold the throttle wide open for way too long. Your meant to do it in bursts a full throttle run the back off to half or 1/4 throttle to let the water cool down the electrics then repeat the process
It saves battery power too
I would have been calling Traxxas to send a spare flex shaft and prop. Out of the box it should be good for one rip before you have to pull and grease it, even though I always do it out of the box in theory should not have to, that was kinda lame the collet was loose from new. Some cool drone and 360 camera footage though.

@@FivoNine same thing happened to me with a truck I bought off them. I didn't get to drive it the driveshaft was broke I replaced it myself but they sent me more parts for free. This boat might be next to the collection

@@FivoNine okay , I thought it wasn’t suppose too , I even bought a hot racing motor cooler thinking the rubber one was leaking , aren’t you concerned the lipos will mess up ? That’s my biggest concern is that the water will mess them up
It shouldn't get lots of water inside it, but with little water the lipos will be fine....boats overall are rough on the batteries.
Man if U get a set of 9000mah Zee's U should get about 20mins run time

Unfortuntely its doesnt have a self righting feature, have to swim out or use another boat to tug it back
