You should have seen the excersizes and drills my dad came up with and had me and my brother in thought the 90s and early 00s. It was absolutely nuts but I am forever grateful to him. He got me all those points I had. If you have an inbox I could send them too you. My dad probably like a lot of our dad's was a mad scientist genius. He created excersizes, that related to game play. He built a stride practice board for us to practice our stride on with our socks. And if we weren't using our small weight system we had in the basement, he had us on a hard excersize bike routine and right next to that he had a squat rack in the living room so if we were watching the game we we're constantly squatting and riding the bike. It was so perfect. Thank you dad for all that dedication and thank you for creating strong disciplined players
It’s amazing watching these skills Roman seems to do so effortlessly. I’d like to see my grandson develop his skills and try emulate what Roman can do. Thank you
Question really is does your grandson want to develop the skills and emulate what Roman can do? All about the kid here, if they dont have the drive its not worth pushing them to do it.
So this dad is obviously calling anyone & everyone who is willing to put a spotlight on his kid. Roman's skating is not shocking, but it's very good, and you can tell he's spent a lot of time on the ice. Any kid who has been doing years of power skating, like him, is capable of doing these drills. I wish him luck in the future, and I'm hoping his dad lays off the pressure as the gap starts to close when he gets older. At novice, it's easy for good skaters to dominate. Bantam is when things really change.
Brittany France we reached out to ask if Roman would want to be in a video. There was no pressure put on Roman and it’s very clear from spending on a few hours with him that he absolutely loves hockey. I get where you’re coming from though.
True! My kid is an 09 too. He asked to play hockey when he was 7 years old, in 4 years he made it to the top division for his age. And last 8 months we been taking him to all kind power skating camps and i see so many phenomenal kids that are not only as good but even much better than this kid, but they are also a foot taller and bigger. at 13 the hitting starts, that's when small kids start to suffer, and this kid is tiny
@@wildgrem Yep i am, i've been an inline hockey coach for a couple of years now and i use these type of drills all the time ! Not all of them can be done exactly the same, but most of them can be adapted
I’m a high school freshman who’s been playing AAA for the past 3 years. I do weightlifting every other day of the week, and cardio on the days in between. I shoot 100 pucks a day aswell. What else should I do to make varsity this year?
where are you what city, do you do private lessons and does anyone teach your style or methods in BC...please inform, great vids as always...thanks for getting back to us
John Hahn we work out of Ontario, Canada. Steve does camps in London and area and we plan to travel together in the future for some camps when COVID slows down. Stay tuned.
Coach Steve is SMOOOOOTH. Serious question. Why don't more Asians play hockey? Maybe it's different in Canada but when I was growing up, we didn't have ANY Asians that were interested in hockey. And I grew up in an area where Asians WERE the majority.
BECAUSE THE ASIAN GOVERNMENT , kids no place to learn skate , THERE are almost no indoor RINKs IN most ASIA CITIES ,HOCKEY IS A HIGH INVESTMENT SPORT, AND also THE HOCKEY GEAR IS EXPENSIVE.
He had a great coach on the Ice from his first years of skating.. Maybe he had also figureskating classes.. Or maybe he did before he join hockey.. For 10 years old figure skates is this nothing special, they can do this even with closed eyes even midnight..everithing what he wants from him is easy.. 💪🕺🏼Keep skating... And stay healthy, strong 👍🏻
Powerful skating basics are the foundation of elite hockey skills and figure skating. It looks like you're diminishing hockey skating. Steve does a great job bringing his technique back to foundational skills like a strong stance. I wonder what figure skating competitions would look like if 10 skaters were on the ice trying to perform their routines at the same time and they could only score points if they performed their judged elements in or near the hockey creases. Heck let's add body contact so you score points at one crease and defend the other... No doubt figure skaters require excellent fundamental skating, but, let's not diminish a kids excellent hockey skating.

BK Hockey videos are always great! Thanks and cheers from Austria
Kid’s an awesome skater. Coach Steve is great too, no-nonsense skills coach and highly encouraging. Love the BK hockey skills videos!
Great edge work, at a young age. Looks very comfortable on his skates.
This young skater executes to perfection. Very impressive.

This kid is unbelievable....just goes to show what a batshit crazy dad can accomplish if his kid has talent.
Every AAA kid in the GTHL can do this. I've seen it.
The GTHL schedule is asinine. Touch grass.
Excellent. We run a similar edge program. Would love to see the stick handling drills. Thanks

Agreed. If his dad wants him to be NHL caliber, he's gotta let Roman find his passion for hockey.

Roman was in a no days off documentary if you wanna check it out.
Totally agreed.

Use a day for speed workouts and always work on your skating
Start taking steroids
Check out Hockeytraining.com workout. They have full programs for all levels and ages to help you get where you want to go.
My boy shoots 350 pucks a day at 10 and it only takes him 15 to 20 mins. Shoot more pucks and work on skating and stick handling at home.
@@hockeymaximized2371 Thank you. 350 in 15-20 minutes? How many pucks are in his bucket?

Roman was in a No Days Off if anybody was interested
Ya
would love to see stickhandling footage!
Romans a good player but there are a lot more skaters that deserve the recognition he gets. Especially in Alaska.
I’m sure there are many kids out there with similar skating skills and we hope to feature more in the future 👍
Ok , that's just sick. This young man is destined for success.
Damn I’m 13 and I can’t even do Mohawks around the circles that clean

Kid's going far.
Hell Yeah Bro
I feel the kid is faster than the coach. However, the coach is much more smooth and under control. They both are super good!!!
