Congratulations! Awesome dred. I wonder if you could show some more details of the guitar in a future video, the extent of the relic’ing, close up of the wood grain, fit and finish, etc. I’ve been looking hard at Pre-War, but I just haven’t wrapped my head around the “make it look old” concept yet…
Hi Richard, I certainly can. I was about getting ready to make a new video as I’ve almost had the guitar for one year. I can add those details then. Stay tuned and thanks for checking it out!
sounds and looks great. You have no idea how nervous you were making me holding it in front of that open case. Those latches have teeth and are designed for the purpose of putting dings in new beautiful guitars (don't ask me how I know about that).
ha, ain’t that the truth. thankfully, this case doesn’t have those kind of latches. I have another case that does, and the guitar that lives in it has a nasty scratch to prove it! I’m sure I’ll find a way to distress this one eventually as well... cheers
Sure am glad I decided to document the moment... it was really hard not to just rip into that box the minute it showed up on my doorstep! Thanks for watching!
Hi Dan. What a gorgeous guitar that you bought here. And a beautiful playing that corresponds well with your new beauty. Thanks for sharing. 🙏 I hope you're giving it a lot of playing time to unlock the potential of both of you 🙂 Unfortunately you did'nt post new videos the last year. I'm not sure from the video...and do you like the neck and playability? Cheers
Hi! Thanks so much for the kind words. I am indeed playing this guitar nearly all the time! Hoping I can get back to making more videos with it soon. It is the modern taper so the 1&11/16ths:2&3/16ths. And I absolutely love it. Those guys know how to make a neck. Cheers!
@@Danspielmanmusic Thanks for your reply Dan. Sounds great that you're hopeful to make new videos. 👍 Regarding the neck I wonder if the more modern taper would work for me too. Great guitar, Dan. It's a beauty, and thanks for posting this "unboxing" video. Looks like you went for the least "distressed" model, which I think is a great choice. Do you guys no that the waiting period is a trick to sell guitars. The harder they make it to get the more people want to buy one. It must be good if you have to wait 26 months.
I think this is more of a situation in which they only are making a small amount of guitars each year (less than 200 a year if I’m not mistaken) keeping production low so they can maintain high quality. A lot of people want these guitars because they are really great instruments. You should try one! I’d wait longer than 26 months if I had to do it again, it was well worth both the cost and wait.
When you opened the case I expected to hear an Angelic Choir, "Ahhhhhhhh....." Seriously, a beaufiul intrument and may it bring you many years of joy.

Dan did you weigh it yet? I bet it weighs 4 lb or slightly under.. I have a Martin 1991 & 1993 D16H that are very light (3 lb 14 oz & 3 lb 12 oz) that sound like a 40's D18..Very very light resonant Martin..
I have not- will let you know when I do, but I think you’re in the ball park.
That thing looks like a house with strings attached to it... LOL but sounds great. Enjoy.
thanks! Sure do love it.
You are going to need an operation. To get that smile off your face! 😁
Ha, seriously. Still Smiling.... Thanks for tuning in!
Where can I order one?
What fret wire did you get?
Standard nickel.
Not worried about not having 1 ¾ ???
Na, I don’t jive well with the wider spacing.
What “distress” level did you get?
Jleed989- This is a level one- it’s got really nice checking- but not much distressing- one of the cleanest examples I’ve seen.
@@Danspielmanmusic nice!
26 months? Dayam.
Yeah, it was a long wait, but worth every bit of it.
That looks like a Marlboro Martin🙄
High dad in the morning.....
Good ear!
sounds awesome for its debut. do a one year video next year. New subscriber
What a great Idea, I'll make sure to do that. Thank you!
It’s got more buzz than a beehive!🤦♂️
You are entitled to your opinion, thanks for watching!
You do realize that right now is the WORST it will ever sound?
Ha, aint that the truth! Better every day
Bah bah bang bang ❗️🫧
