Do you ever have to use a pilot drill on dense cortical bone in the mandible, and if so, does the kit include a pilot drill? Also, how do you like the auto-tack placement of tacks compared to the conventional method of tapping them in?
Hi Dr Bakri. Thanks for asking. I didn't know offhand from the packaging but I measured the tacks with calipers. The diameter of the head is 2mm and the depth of the tack is roughly also 2mm meaning it will penetrate bone to 2mm. I do not believe they are designed to be reusable. The kit comes with about 25 of them.

How many do you place each membrane and do yo0u leave them in - what if you want to remove one?
