  • Showcase of Kobo Clara Colour with 3 different book formats: epub (kepub), cbz (comics) & pdf. I intend to capture the quality of the e-reader in low lighting conditions.
If you are not particular about the speed of responsiveness of this e-reader, I recommend you watch this video at 1.5x speed.
I recommend to increase the font weight for epub to make reading easier.
I recommend reading manga on this e-reader even with the screen being 6”.
I do not recommend reading most pdfs on this e-reader because of the small screen size. This would depend on the size of the text, of course.
This is the website I use to wirelessly transfer books to the Kobo via web browser: send.djazz.se
    Thank you for watching.

Hello, how do you find the 6 inch screen for manga without zooming? im torn between the clara and libra, but clara would be much cheaper if it is fine for manga

@@KeyfobTyler For manga I recommend the Libra since you don’t have to zoom in. With the Clara I sometimes have to zoom in to read very small text, but it is still feasible. The Clara screen height is the same as my phone and 1.5x the width, so you can definitely read manga on there. The benefit of the Clara is reading on the go, so if you’re into that then go for it. But if you don’t mind taking a larger device around with you, if it means you can read comfortably then I would say the Libra. The libra is very light on its own and comfortable to carry around, but with a protective case, you may benefit from keeping it at home and reading by the bedside because of the added weight. I tried both devices and find reading manga on the libra at home is more immersive and streamlined, since it’s not that much larger compared to the Clara, but I bring the clara with me whenever I go out.

is 7 inches okay size for manga as im use to reading on a 10 inch tablet? and was it just that cbz being slow or was it the kobo?

@@rhysseddon7279 7 inches is adequate for reading manga, but if you’re used to a larger screen, you may find adjusting to it a bit difficult. Next to a Japanese size manga volume the size difference is not too big, and I can read comfortably. If you have bad eyes, it’s probably not the best, but the whole purpose of a smaller e-reader is to hold it in your hands, and you will naturally bring it up to your face, unlike a larger 10 inch device, which you would read on your lap or further away. Still, I can read just fine if I hold it from arm’s length, unlike the 6 inch clara.

Thanks for this review! I’m just wondering how did you manage to have three thumbnail on the home panel. With my latest software update I’m still having 4 small thumbnails on top. Is it because you have 3 books in your Kobo right now?
Also, if you have more books, do you see any ghosting ( like image of the previous page faintly shows on the next page thumbnails) when you swap your screen for a book? Please let me know!
    Enjoy your Clara colour!

@@tanvirkamal Glad you enjoyed. I forgot to mention in the video that I have large print mode on (can be accessed from beta features) which is why the home panel shows only 3 thumbnails. Yes, I do see ghosting mainly when turning from text or manga from a light page to a full-flush black or darker screen. I don’t see it the other way around, though.

Nice review! Why does it blink from white to black to white when you move it sometimes?

I’m not sure but I think the b/w screens also does this when turning to a new chapter or refreshing the screen.

I believe this is the best video that shows how the Kobo Colour actually looks in real life so thank you very much! 🫰
