Right now, there's an awful lot of metroid-camping since the hunters can't easily track Samus down, and I think that's to the detriment of this game-mode.
@@Klokinator Yeah but the music already gives away they're in the same room as a Samus, that's too small a close-search zone when there is more than 1 SA-X on the field.
Man i know I'm late...But man. I could only hope this type of concept in prime 1 aswell. 6v6 dark samuses vs samuses. All around talon IV, trying to out maneuver with scan/lock dashes, bunny hops, boost balls, instant unmorphs etc. Hell even secret world tech to "hide" from a pursuer. A man can only hope. Though with that hope, hope-fully prime 4 at least takes on a concept similar to this or have a competitive multiplayer.
Here's an idea for a mode: All players start out with nothing but the Morph Ball and one tank of Missiles, and must accomplish their goals by getting their necessary upgrades. the Fusion player(s) (hereafter referred to as SA-M) must exterminate all X-bosses and any SA-X they encounter along the way, while the SA-X must wipe out all the Metroids and any SA-M they encounter along the way. First team back to the ship after accomplishing their goal wins. SA-X start off in the cave that Samus gets infected in. SA-M start off at the ship. SA-M can tell when Metroids die, and get their upgrades by absorbing Core X and picking up the items guarded or dropped by bosses. SA-X can tell when Core X get absorbed, and get their upgrades by infecting bosses and enemies. Neither side can tell when a player from the other side picks up a Minor Upgrade (expansions after the first one). Both sides can sync upgrades with their teammates if they make contact with each other for a second or longer. If a player from either side gets absorbed or defeated, they can't respawn. If a SA-X gets absorbed by a SA-M after having been turned into its' Core X phase, then the SA-M gets all of the upgrades that the SA-X in question had unlocked by that point. Likewise, if a SA-M is defeated by a SA-X, they drop a Power Sphere containing all of the upgrades that they collected by that point, which the SA-X can infect and take for themselves. SA-X are heavily damaged by Evolved Metroids that are not SA-M or Larvae, with the damage starting at one-shotting with the Queen's and Omega's attacks, then going to two-shotting with the Zetas, Four with the Gammas, and Eight with the Alphas. If a SA-X intersects with a Metroid's head zone or sprite while in their Core X state, they are absorbed as if they had made contact with a SA-M. SA-M, meanwhile, are ignored by Metroids. SA-X can infect non-Metroid bosses by actively going to their Core X form, and then overlapping the boss in question for five seconds, which instantly kills the boss and gives them the upgrade, though they may choose to fight it normally if they deem necessary. If a SA-M gets into a fight with a non-metroid boss, then they must fight it as normal. When a boss is defeated, it drops an item if it is holding one for all players that come there afterwards that don't already have said upgrade.
An idea I had was like an infected type mode, if a player gets killed, he goes to the opposite team. Or something like Freezetag fron Quake Live, you freeze others when they die and their teammates have to thaw them.
@@DruidVorse The "infected" mode could actually be interesting and easily doable with nothing but SA-X players. All but one player start out as "untagged" and start in random locations on the map, while the lone "tagger" player starts out in the X Cave. If the tagger kills one of the untagged players by turning them into a Core X, then on their resolidification, they become a tagger themself. Untagged players win by beating the game, taggers win by turning everyone else into taggers, with the optional goal of beating the game if they so choose.
i dunno about the head stuff, but other than the "ohko 2hko" stuff, it sounds neat. i mean, it might be a tad bit annoying for one side to have that big of a glaring weakness, yeesh. maybe doubled damage, but thats it mun.

This video is really cool. The SA-X actively working togeather, finding you, and invading the boss fights creates a lot of tension and panic.

Here's an idea for a mode:
All players start out with nothing but the Morph Ball and one tank of Missiles, and must accomplish their goals by getting their necessary upgrades. the Fusion player(s) (hereafter referred to as SA-M) must exterminate all X-bosses and any SA-X they encounter along the way, while the SA-X must wipe out all the Metroids and any SA-M they encounter along the way.
Untagged players win by beating the game, taggers win by turning everyone else into taggers, with the optional goal of beating the game if they so choose.
i dunno about the head stuff, but other than the "ohko 2hko" stuff, it sounds neat. i mean, it might be a tad bit annoying for one side to have that big of a glaring weakness, yeesh. maybe doubled damage, but thats it mun.
the true metroid fusion experience
The alternative JoJoke is the "run like hell" meme otherwise known as the Joestar secret technique
There's no fucking way dude, each time I think you have peaked in skill you just pull a dream moment .
Many people won't understand how hard what you are doing actually is,
I understand cos I play the game but damn you are skilled my friend.
Thanks man : )
I think the Idea of an SA-X actively hunting you in more than a scripted event way would be cool af for aa metroid game. Specifically one that has more of a horror focus like fusion.
This video is really cool. The SA-X actively working togeather, finding you, and invading the boss fights creates a lot of tension and panic.
This got recomended to me 1 year later.
I'm not disapointed.
Nice! Yeah, this got hit by the algorithm again.
The version is quite outdated now but people still play so far.
"I'm 5 parallel universes ahead of you!"
Story: Metroid Queen bent on the genocide of her own species. 4 X Parasites decide to try and stop her and nobody is sure why!
54:05 That's a VERY clever trick there. Opening the missile door so when the opponent runs by, he's gonna think you went that way instead of heading straight down. It will at least make him guess. I like that!
0:38:32 Such an authentic Sa-X moment! =D
I just learnt am2r manhunt is a thing. The Metroid community keeps surprising me everyday
that early Screw Attack must've been a godsend
It was a custom seed so I kinda knew where the items were, kinda a little help against all those players lol
Man i love this new "trend" where poeple makes mods that adds multiplayer pvp and pve on single player games,i really hope it becomes even more popular so that a lot of other games get this kind of mods
I can't help but do a little fist bump everytime you manage to give them the slip. Good stuff!
Thank you!
That thumbnail is pure gold
Thanks! That was a CosmicBrain move on my part lol
Not sure how I'd feel if my opponents kept camping the last few metroids like this... takes the fun of a proper chase and hunt out of the game.
Yeah, we are still figuring about making a rule for that.
Feels pretty cheap to just camp.
@@DruidVorse best I could figure would be a 3rd role for a match moderator/overseer among the spectators (maybe host the games to keep players on an even field?) able to force warp people or start making them take damage/lose ammo while they can't just use the local save station to recharge (much like being in chase mode/too close of a proximity to an opponent)
@@craigfunk3453 that's gonna take an insane amount of work and Gamemaker is pretty bad sometimes.
Also, nobody is gonna volunteer for a match, everyone wants to play.
@@DruidVorse someone in the comment section suggested that there should be "anti-X" zones when a Metroid nearby is still alive. Basically, as long as the resident Metroid(s) still lives, there would be a sort of "area of effect" that prevents SA-X players from trespassing. It would make somewhat sense lorewise too.
The question is what size this "anti-x field" would be?
@@ultraspinalki11 the issue is that every area has metroids, so the SA-X might not access the other areas. Unless you mean that that gets triggered when there's one Fusion player standing.
Watching this man play:
Me: *filthy frank spasms*
Honestly would love a dread sequel like that, a sa-x in each zone with no boundaries hunting you down alien isolation style
Lol I love how you just went "BRING IT ON!!" at 1:32:12, but then it turned into a 2v1.
this is giving me a secondhand heart attack
spoilers...
That was so close at the end. I was really hoping you'd escape there and maybe manage to pick one of them off.
yeah, camping gets pretty bad during the lategame.
Now the meta kinda changed since the SA-X are now more powerful so we need like 2 or 3 per 10 players due to the new update.
This is insane on multiple meanings.
that guy who got led into the room with the Beta Metroid must have had a bad time after that.
Remember, in Metroid Canon, there's at least 10 SA-x
Hey druid, is there any chance you could make a video showing the game overs for the SA-X in the AM2R multiplayer? I watched one of your other videos and they said the game over for SA-X was pretty different compared to Samus's version, and I would really like to see it.
I could make one but now I have to wait for the next patch since the latest update kinda broke what happens with the SA-X.
Alternate Fusion where the BSL didn't explode upon crashing into the planet and Samus has to defend against the "No Less than 10 SA-X" that were aboard the station.
Oh, you’re approaching me?
4 sigma male SA-X vs omega male speed runner
I don't know if this is something to point out... But wouldn't... it be SA-M protecting the metroids? And the SA-Xs killing them? Just a bit of a food for thought.
39:38 - I don’t know much about AM2R or its mechanics but how did the SA-X just phase in there? That’s terrifying!
That's because he entered the room and there's a bit of lag after a room transition, they were following me so it was a given that they would visit that room lol
@@DruidVorse
Yeah, I was watching this video in bed on the verge of falling asleep. For some reason I had forgotten that the screen transitions don’t have you walk into a room, but instead put you a little inside.
Druid do you find people to play with on the Multitroid server?
yep, I always join a match and then start fresh on a new one later. There's currently people trying to play a co op run
1:40:52 Samus is an awful Bounty Hunter because she doesn't work for whoever pays most, and she doesn't even GET paid for half her missions, and when she does, it's in new ships since she blows up her ships constantly.
The concept of knowing you’re almost guaranteed to meet the SA-X hunters at every boss is kinda dreadful, like a hidden timer of sorts before the game gets unpredictable and unprecedented
Is this a Romhack? This map is freaking awesome! And the music too. And new custom enemies! That looks like a whole new metroid game 😍
This is a PC remake of Metroid 2, you should check it out! You have to download the launcher and then get the 1.1 version of the game, in any case, check the discord server to get more help in installing the game and then the mods.
discord.gg/YEKEb86p
To reply to that comment at the end about Samus being possibly the worst bounty hunter, I think the fact that Samus always survives losing everything and always fights her way back to the top (while coming back stronger) only serves as another testament to her strength. Samus Aran is a star example of a “comeback kid”.
This was interesting and hilarious to watch.
Video shouldve been titled "Metroid speedrunner sets new world record during PvP match, SAVAGE IN 4K!" Who cares if it wasnt a record it was in my book XD nobody in a pvp match can beat this
What a start... Supers.. Screw attack... Powerbomb... Bombs... Gravity, and speed booster...
Was the omega head in-game or dilligently edited-in?
It's a custom seed where I already know the layout, it's currently the best one I have since this one gave me the sub hour in game time for 100% item collection in Fusion mode.
The omega head is an easter egg that the dev added for me, you have to change your name in the multitroid settings to OmegaDruid.
This is Samus in lore.
Are the musical cues added by you, or are they triggered ingame whenever an SA-X appears?
Man, i love this seriously
That Torizo fight was wild.
I've never rooted for a speedrunner so much.
this looks crazy and fun as heck. Do the SA-X players get some kinda radar telling where Samus player is located?
Yeah, the radar doesn't give the exact location, it's more of a hint that they are in the area.
@@DruidVorsehow much stronger are they than samus? Can u kill the sa x
@@xyoungdipsetx this was back during an older version, now I think you can customize how strong they get thanks to development on the many mods were done to fit certain play styles like 1vs1 or multiple vs 1 or teams
they are stong but sometimes the fusion can get stronger way fast
This looks like so much fun!
34:36 omfg what??? I need to watch the whole speed run of this game.
lmao that purple sa-x napping on the job
Interesting game mode
You have some insane skills mate
Thank you m8 :)
This is wild
man, am2r has some wild movement tech
and there's even more stuff that's not showcased here but they are specific to certain situations/rooms
Fast travel portal need some cooldown(for all players or personaly for each one), so you can't just run and cheese with it
Lore-accurate samus be like:
That was insane! The amount of times you survived with one hit left, holy crap.
I wonder why you waited in that save room for so long and then a SA-X appeared as if cloaked or something? That was creepy.
The SA-X appear like that due to either lag or the room transition is ending so they don't see anything I think
28:00 Now that is peak action
The skins in this hack are hilarious
future, am2r dread modo, with dread suit
Dread suit in AM2R pixel-art would be pretty cool
so can someone explain to me why the SA-X, whose greatest evolutionary foe is the Metroid, is trying to stop Samus from eradicating the Metroids
The Fusion players have to survive and complete the game at the same time so that's why the SA-X hunt them.
If the SA-X kill the metroids, they give more advantage to the other team.
Speedbooster so early is so strong xd
Do this again but win this time.
why does the Sa-x's have omega metroids for their heads?
correction why does the speedrunner have an omega metroid head
Because it's an easter egg from the developer, I asked him if he could add the Omega head for me.
To get that head, you have to put OmegaDruid as the name in the multitroid settings.
man shinesparks for 1 hour and 30 minutes, still misses world record by 1 frame. has to start all over.
my brain can only handle about 15 seconds before i run into a wall
And zero fucks were given that day.
I want the remix for the SA-X chase so bad.
Here it is! ruclips.net/video/yfCpbbj6-fU/видео.html
What was that hacky door warp shit they did around 18:20?
That's a walljump zip, Samus warps because I opened the door while walljumping at the same time so the game just sticks me to the next collision it can find.
i feel like it's a bit unfair that they can enter rooms you can't leave (28:19 is the prime case)
Yeah, some rules were added for that and other cases.
If anything I like that since it adds a bit of challenge.
GG`s
you almost killed 2 hunters. do they have 1 life aswell ?
They keep respawning but I can get ice beam once I absorb the Core-X
1:26:00 wait, did he change his suit to avoid the boss trigger? why did he do this?
Seed pvp
Hmm maybe a SA-X got trapped and fought Serris or maybe the boss could be ignored in that version.
