I started watching your channel in 2020 as a pandemic fanboy because I wanted to become a woodworker, but I kept seeing all the channels with decked out shops and gnarly machines. By 2021 I was soooo tired of working on the ground and tweaking stuff to get by, that I stopped all woodworking to focus my attention on acquiring machines. Rescued an 8 inch PM jointer from a dump haul. Been restoring a 10inch Walker-Turner table saw on my channel, and scrounging anything I can find just to get a "shop" built up in my garage, so I can be a real woodworker. This video and the recent workbench out of a truck video make me remember why I wanted to woodwork in the first place. Nostalgia.
Old video, but great timing for me though. It’s wonderful and reinvigorating to be reassured that I don’t have to wait to get the table saw, radial arm saw, etc to get started. What a beautiful, elegant first project that is so simple. Thank you.
I like how you kept the design simple enough to two basic power tools and then made it fancy with different color stains After you have a few more videos of two power tool projects, you should make a playlist
That is a VERY nice build! I love the fact you showed how you don't need specialty tools and how simple of a process it is with some basic skills to get someone to do the work. No fancy joinery or cuts and SOOOOOO many options for colors, wood selection and size. GREAT JOB!
I know this was from almost a couple of years ago, but I want to start woodworking and watching tons of videos to learn! This table is beautiful and I appreciate the fact that you offer the tools and supplies used without charing us for them! I think this will be my first project! 👍
David, thank you for sharing this lesson. I am a beginner and this project was a good learning experience, especially for learning to use dowels in the legs. I have been struggling with mounting legs, and this project has helped. Kudos!
I like watching the videos of projects I probably couldn't make, of course, but I really like this style because it makes me want to take a crack at it
Wow, great build. The simplest way to build something is often the BEST way to build something. Thank you for sharing....oh and I dig the weiner dogs too!
I don’t know how I missed this video a year ago. Just came across it. I love this simple little table. I’m totally making one! And… I’m totally laughing out loud about your dogs butt highlight. LOL
You can also chain clamps, clamping clamps to clamps to get more length and do a long project if you only have 6-12 in clamps. It is a giant pain & really finicky, but I definitely did it a few times early on.
Going to try this but as a side table, think it's a great idea. Special as I have just started my woodworking journey, and only have a few tools. Till tag you after its done!!🎉
Awesome video for so many reasons... Reminiscent of Drunken Woodworker vids, simple yet elegant, instructional but not demeaning and the end result is excellent. Big fan for a while. Glad to see you found your spark again.
Thank you, this was great. It had a lot of techniques in it that hadn't occurred to me and it was pitched at exactly my level. Also I literally bought my first speed square yesterday. Need to grab some longer clamps now...
Loved this video. Can u do one making a food tray and a cutting board. All the videos I see are with ppl using all the fancy equipment. I’ve never built anything except for a desk I bought from the store to put together lol so I’m trying to get into woodworking and I don’t have all of that fancy equipment. I would like to do this table and the food tray and cutting board
I have used those 2x2 s before. The nice thing about them if you pick through them you can usually find ones that are rift sawn (the end grain runs from corner to corner). The advantage is you get straight grain on all four sides.
Thanks for sharing this project. I appreciate your videos along this line, they inspire us to start making things. I have been following you from my main ID for years now (since you were the drunken woodworker), I'm commenting from this ID due to my line of work where we have to keep our internet activity anonymous. Anyway, I digress, all I wanted to say was thanks for these videos, I realized today how much you have taught me and just wanted to say a big thank you. I'm doubtful I will ever be able to ditch programming and move to woodwork like you did, but you always instill confidence that I can accomplish more weekend projects with the tools I already own, which are a circular saw and a drill driver. Cheers Dave, keep up the awesome work! Edit: you've sold me on using bright colours in furniture with this build, never thought I would like it, but this turned out awesome!
Before I invested in a good set of longer clamps, I would screw a scrap piece to my workbench right behind one end of the joint, and screw another just to the side of the other end of the joint (within clamping distance). That trick saved my butt a couple times, but it can be tricky to get perpendicular clamping pressure sometimes

Don't understand 38 k views and only 2 k likes . A quick like really helps these guys out.
❤️❤️❤️
With limited tools at the moment and as I look for a new job, I need simple projects like this to do on my spare time. Thank you.
You can never have enough woodworkers telling you that you can’t have enough clamps. You gotta say that on the podcast. Love it.
I heard this on another channel I think it was Spenclys or four eyes can't remember
Great video, my man. Love that you restricted yourself to just two common power tools. Makes this so much more approachable
Thanks for actually putting together videos that are for beginners. My modest equipment salutes you!
Love the limited tools!! Thanks!
Cool project. I love the burnt charcoal on the legs
Love that color combination

Table looks great!! Glad to see that it was built with two pretty “simple” tools and the love the colors!
I like all the colors, but that red, wow. Love it. I have to try it.
Wow that came out looking sick, I love that finish on the top. I will definitely keep those finishes in mind for a future project.
I love your weiner dog! Thank you for sharing this video! As a newbie to woodworking, I really appreciate it!
Sweet table! Really like the contrasting colors that you used. Another fun project brought to you by the creative mind of David P!
David, thank you for sharing this lesson. I am a beginner and this project was a good learning experience, especially for learning to use dowels in the legs. I have been struggling with mounting legs, and this project has helped. Kudos!
Perfect timing! My wife just asked me to make a side table for her desk. Great video.
It's a pleasure watching such a neat thing being built. Thanks for showing us.
The charcoal looks nice and is safer then shou sugi ban.
Nicely done!
Those lights were a nice touch!!
I like watching the videos of projects I probably couldn't make, of course, but I really like this style because it makes me want to take a crack at it
Wouldn't usually think of using bright colours but i'm tempted after seeing how that turned out. Nice job.
Love this! I only have a mitre saw/drop saw and a drill, would love for you to put up more videos of basic/hand tool projects =)
Killer video David! Keep up the great work!
Wow, great build. The simplest way to build something is often the BEST way to build something. Thank you for sharing....oh and I dig the weiner dogs too!
this is the prettiest table ive seen that's this easy to make. great work, man!

TR-808 in the house! :) Those colors really pop!
Good observation ;)
Great job David. This is the type of project that gets people to start woodworking as a hobby. Well done.

That color for the base is nice. I'm in the middle of a coffee table build and might have to try that.
Thank you, this was great. It had a lot of techniques in it that hadn't occurred to me and it was pitched at exactly my level. Also I literally bought my first speed square yesterday. Need to grab some longer clamps now...
That table and color pattern are awesome. The Picciuto style is in full effect
I only own these two power tools so thank you!

My daughter and I both like the colorful table top! Great stuff!
great project. Love the wienerdog lights. Sorry I didn't see these earlier my son and his girlfriend would have love them for their Holiday Decor.
This was a perfect tutorial for me. Thank you.

Thanks Dan!
Very nice table. Thanks for sharing your tips

Wow. The table looks FABULOUS
I love this project a lot. Great job Dave.
Great work Dave! You are a really good teacher.
Very cool, I love it, and how you simplified the whole process. I am New to wood, but definitely going to follow your channel. Thanks a lot
The colors on the top are amazing! Nice work!!
Love the tint on your sneakers as well. The table top looks awesome

Awesome build with simple tools...love it
You never cease to amaze! Fantastic table!
Genius tip clamping the speed square on the piece to keep it from moving on smaller items.
Thank you. I will definitely make this.
Really colourful wax finishes, thanks for sharing!
Nice table, Dave.
Also, the copy of WOOD magazine and the Funyuns were a nice touch!
All that and a bag of chips! 😂
@8:49 I spy a shiny red cart frame. Looking forward to seeing the cart completed and on the track.
You do Great work !!!! Good Times !!!
Those colours! ❤️
Hey just wanted to mention that you may want to check out glue called 2p10. It is great.
That’s a genuinely beautiful project; I learned so much. And the colours! I’m amazed how much I enjoyed them.
how fun. thanks for sharing this. new to your channel. Can't wait to see more videos
I saw the thumbnail and I thought, "this is nuts", but the longer I look, the more I am liking that top. That is such a cool mix of colours.
My wife thought the same thing when she met me!

As always, fantastic project, I love it. Simple yet beautifully designed. Thank you
solid video. love the use of color.
Gorgeous table.
This is a really cool table. Love how it turned out, but those big box store pre-milled lumber prices are kind of scary.
Very original design. Thanks for sharing
Good one David! Happy Holidays to you and your family! Be well & stay safe! 👍👍😉😉
Love the colors, David! Certified banger!
Turned out fantastic!
Loved the video. You should've done it all in red.

Very cool project David keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Keep making.
Really cool. I love the way the top looks. I'll have to try something like that for a project sometime. Maybe a serving tray or something
That looks really good and easy to build. Thank you for sharing.
Points for those killer shoes!
😎
What a beautiful table, I love it!
