You beat me!! Nice with that tax credit (per Tesla website). But read carefully. Looks like it’s for lease and business tax credit only. Not sure if the personal peon person like us gets it.
Great video! I just purchased my first Tesla - a Model Y Performance in Quicksilver. I spent a lot of time debating a Model 3 Performance vs the Model Y Performance. While I loved the refresh Model 3 exterior styling , the ventilated sport seats, back screen and interior lighting - ultimately the extra space in the Model Y, lower price and the fact that it alredy has Hardware 4 was enough to make me select the Model Y. I can live without the refresh features for now. I love the Model Y and no buyers remorse for getting it prior to Juniper. Your analysis was spot on - if you don’t have a Tesla buy one! Choose which combo of features is most meaningful to you.
@@TonyMiguel-ko7cz I agree, it could be better if you need to get something big into the boot, the space in the 3 is actually pretty good also for long trips and plenty for most families, only problem might be the size of the hole for some. We have changed from Y to 3 because of the driving experience and we have older children, so the luggage compartment is plenty large. we don't need room for a pram.
Outside of the lack of stalks, not having physical buttons or a gauge cluster, I like everything about the 3. However as someone who’s single with 1 car, it’s preferable to have a car with more storage space. I don’t care for the original 3 or Y’s current exterior design so I’ll wait for the Y refresh. Also while I’m not incredibly tall, it’s still nice not having to duck down so much to get into a car.
It depends where you are with your car needs, and of course your size needs. I personally have 2 cars and I can wait, but 2 years ago I got into a car accident and I needed a car asap so I couldn’t play the waiting game. So someone like myself I can wait and be patient because I have 2 cars I can drive around. Personally look at your circumstances and choose accordingly. If you can wait for the refresh model Y, then you will have the newest and latest. I have a feeling Tesla is going to add one cool feature in the model Y that the current refresh model 3 and model y don’t have. ❤
I wouldn't be surprised if Tesla trickles the changes down to the Model Y instead of a big refresh. It's probably less disruptive to their most popular vehicle. So if you are waiting for the vented seats or better suspension, that indeed may come this year.
I have the 2024 Model 3 dual-motor. I drove this and also the Performance. For me, dollar for dollar, the dual-motor is enough- Car & Driver clocked it at 4 seconds 0-60. Upgrades from the single motor include a much better stereo (it is substantially better than my BMW upgraded stereo), floor mats provided, longer range, much quicker, just as efficient. And unlike the vid says I DID get the tax credit for this version- making it a bunch cheaper than the Performance. I love to drive- and the Performance, for the substantial extra money, doesn't have the ride quality-- and the heavily bolstered seats are a little tight for my middle aged body- however, if I lived someplace like Southern Cali with twisty roads, I'd likely have gotten that model, but I live in Vegas, and the roads are pretty much straight- stoplight to stoplight, the mid-priced "extended range" dual motor is for me the best choice.. I took the covers off the wheels and added lugnut covers and center wheel covers- the rims are great looking this way. Also added sunscreens for the glass roof, which make a big difference and fit perfectly- and a trunk organizer so my groceries don't spill across the trunk on the way home. Lots of people gripe about the turn signals- I got used to that in about 15 seconds, and have no issue with them. Would a stalk be better? Probably. So would a heads-up display with the speed and nav in the windshield- I'd pay extra for that. All in all, it is a fantastic sports sedan- I love driving it. And I gave up one of my BMW's for it- my beloved M. I don't miss it a bit....
I have a 2021 Model 3. The one thing that would make me wait for either is Hardware revisions. My model currently has the Intel processor and although still good, we are starting to see things that are not going to be available for older processors. Tesla is already looking into HW5.0 which may or may not include a revised processor. Being a computer on wheels, the HW (depending on how long you plan to keep the car) is the biggest factor to me.
We're waiting for Y right now. My husband was in an accident last month, and the financing deal was happening so we ordered. Just waiting to take delivery. Thankfully his grandma had a car that no one wants her to use, so hopefully within the next few weeks we get it!
Don't have one yet, but I'd rather wait for the refresh. I like the new style more than the current interior as well as the more aggressive exterior. I'd prefer the double pane glass in the rear and on the remaining panels to help reduced road noise as well that they added to the 3. The suspension improvement is needed as well.
Anyone who lives in the state of Florida or Arizona or any other hot climate state and buys a car that doesn’t offer ventilated seats is really doing themselves a disservice. All models of the 3 and Y should’ve had ventilated seats from the first day of production considering how much they cost. Ridiculous.
I was debating between model YLR and M3LR both cars are really nice; However, I’m single no kids so I think model 3 suits me better, plus when I test drive model Y it feels stiff. Model 3 was so smooth.
Cooled seats are literally a game changer. Keep your balls cool while driving in the summer heat. 😅 I was all in on the Model Y until I learned about cooled seats. lol.
It depends. I had both and let me tell you, that LFP battery takes longer to charge at superchargers, no premium sound, a lot slower and for road trips sucks because realistically you get 260 at 100%
@@CarlitoswayDR interesting you say that the LFP charges slowly. Everywhere else says real world it has one of the best charging curves in Tesla's line up, you get some of the highest miles per hour in charging. So much so even in Tesla's website the rwd and long range both get 175 miles in 15 minutes. That's because the LFP even though it's max charging speed is 170 instead of 250 it holds that max charge longer than the other chemistries. Look at Out of specs 10% challenge for the LFP model 3. It's near the top of the list for evs for getting the most miles in 15 minutes for a road trip, when at 10%.
@@Kareem-cx4fiFor some reason I had more range anxiety than with the long range. The RWD LFP battery I was not able to get it to consume less than 286 wh/mile, it always avg around 340-400 here in FL. So in a road trip recharging cap around 150 then straight down to 115 then 80 and no more upside, all that happened within 10 mins
Are you using more than 250 miles per charge? If you are, the ln yes, it's better. If you're not, it's going to be an identical driving experience. As a road tripper I'd want whichever has the better charging curve too. Idk that I've seen stats in the 3 LFP pack.
I just recently realize they aren't cooled seats, they're Ventilated. They just circulate the cabin air to your backside. Nice once the car is already cold inside, but isn't a true cooled seat. They're still nicer to have than just heated seats, and I like them.
To be super clear, you should absolutely buy a model Y now, do not wait. South Florida and I have white seats but my car cools off for me so there is no need for ventilated seats. I have ventilated seats in my wife’s platinum Pathfinder 2024 and we do not use them at all. , If you value comfort while you are driving, the 2024 model Y seats are 10 times more comfortable than the new sportier ventilated seats in the model three refresh. I drive about 200 miles per day so is everything to me. This is really important considering purchasing a model Y
The refresh suspension is a huge deal, especially for stiff Model Y... but you could always get some 3rd party replacement suspension instead? ($2k or so?) Agreed the refresh seats felt firmer to me, still comfortable but not NEARLY as cushy as the previous vinyl seats.... hard to tell in 15min test drive how different for multi-hour roadtrip, but... agreed the vinyl seats even black cool off quickly (don't retain much heat mass), though my back sweats a bit w/o some ventilation... new might help that... but easy to clean off solid vinyl.
I have a 2024 MYLR since January and I love it and I got $2600 off inventory discount and would recommend this over the Performance because of different sizes of tires and not able to rotate them
Interesting to see the differring opinions on interiors. You say you prefer the dash on the Model Y but to me, that wood grain looks SO bad! And the way they tried to continue the wood grain onto the door (I think that started in what, 2022) looks cheesy and an afterthought as it looks like an add-on. The refreshed Model 3 (which IS called Highland by Tesla BTW) is so much better; the LED strip makes the whole cabin look continguous, wrapping around the driver and passenger.
Omg I absolutely LOVE the wood grain. I also love the LED in the m3 refresh. The wood grain is a big factor on why I prefer the Y 😂😂 to each their own!
I'm moving to Japan and literally stuck between the M3 Refresh or a Y. Love the size of the Y. The price difference is $300($29700 for M3RWD, $30,000 for MYRWD). I wish Tesla would just put in ventilated seats and a back screen in the Y for now while people wait for the full refresh. The ventilated seats are absolutely needed in Japan and with kids the screen is wanted. Was hoping China would get the MY refresh this year but looks like they won't be.
The MY now is a no brainer. I ordered a MY performance for the same price I paid for my 2022 Model 3 LR. The .99% finance and the $7500 discount is awesome. The improvements are not a deal breaker for me..maybe on a non-performance trim, but on the performance.
Hmmm. SUV vs sedan. Well, a sedan doesn't meet my needs so I guess the Model Y is what I should get (will wait for the Model Y refresh, however long that takes). I have driven the Model 3 refresh and it feels very refined. I did not like the screen-based transmission selector nor did I like the missing turn signal stalks. That may be a dealbeaker for a new Model Y if Tesla eliminates stalks.
The current gen Model Y, being the last year, is as good as it could possibly get, newer 12v battery tech, better fit and finish, and a VERY attractive price. It feels like waiting for M.Y. 2025 will erase much of that. I'm a bit torn but going to test drive a 2024 later today.
I test drove the update model 3 performance today to compare to my 2023 model Y LR. The new 3 is nice, but in my opinion not sufficiently better to wait until the refresh model Y next year if you are ready to buy.
I say model y performance Juniper. Model 3 is somewhat too small for me esp. with golf clubs. With my current M3 and MY in my garage, I am definitely not in a rush.
M3 LR ALL THE WAY. model Y feels so outdated. im not paying that premium price for a vehicle that looks exactly like tesla 2020. The new m3 is modern and you feel and see the improvements. it is actually the best car TESLA has ever assembly. just go to a delear/service center and test drive the model s , the y and the 3 and see for yourself.
The model Y if you need more head room and in the trunk/hatchback other than that very similar. But I like the refresh M3 look and quietness, new features, pick up speed much better than the Y right now.
For me, the screen at the back wouldn't be a thing to base my decision on.. Comfort, suspension, consumption, ventilated seats those are deal breakers.
I am thinking about a new tesla but buying a new model y now but the bottom would drop out them when the refresh comes. Might have to go the the new Kia EV6.
Strange, I have a completely different opinion of the cabin, I think it seems much more modern and of much better quality than our old 2023 Y And I actually think every reviewer I've seen has had the same opinion.
Hi, I am currently driving Tesla model Y. I would like to upgrade to model X before I get cyber truck maybe in two years what do you think? I know model X is more comfortable, but is it worthy? Thanks Janusz
I really wish the focus on range range range would end. At 270-300 it’s already larger than my bladder can comfortably accommodate, and I mean if you are running low stop and recharge. It only comes into play on long road trips anyway and how many are people making per year. For daily use it’s not even an issue. We need to move on.
They’re really good I drive it to the gym and instantly cooled off …. In my opinion the model 3 AC alone doesn’t cool that effectively. I swear my 2016 civic had better Air conditioning. so the cooled seats make a huge difference.
Thanks for the video! I will wait for the refresh Model Y. Help me please, i installed a rear entertainment system on my Model Y and subscribe to the montly Wi-Fi. How can i get the Wifi connection to this rear entertainment system?
I disagree, here in Canada the model y extended is priced $4000 more than the model 3, extended, similar with the other 2 versions, so I will wait, 2025 will see a change in a lot of EV's
The impact on used Y prices as the new model comes out could be a consideration. And 2 year old cars may get to the level to get the $4k benefit from a dealer.
And if you purchase a 2024 M3P in Ultra Red paint with FSD software package on the Tesla's official website, as of this writing, it's only $57,130 (all fees included) at point of sale before tax/registration, if you the purchaser are $7,500-federal-tax-credit qualified. It's like getting the included FSD software package practically free!!
Seriously doubt if the 2024 M3 RWD and M3LR AWD trims can match my stock 2024 MYP: ruclips.net/video/D_45EO5BauU/видео.htmlsi=FxTIFArs6NtHXYCX at speed of 36mph all in entering, during and exiting a sharp left turn, followed by an immediate curve to the right, when urgently clearing an intersection safely under an unexpected yellow. Test drove the 2024 M3 RWD on February 9, 2024 accompanied by a Tesla rep. Thought the POS (Not Point of Sale lol) was going to roll over when I did a quick left/right maneuver (similar to a race car warming up its tires) at only 40-ish MPH on a straight/level roadway. Tesla rep advised the 2024 MYP has similar ride comfort, and a significantly more superior road-holding ability, and the dude told the truth! The stock 2024 MYP has it all, my friend. I'll simply trade in my 2024 MYP, if the upcoming MYP refresh would be significantly better in every way. Oh, one more thing: it's not advisable to buy or lease any Tesla vehicles, manufactured after their recent morale-degrading mass/continuous layoffs, for a certain period of time.

Sounds like you’re waiting for nothing then!😂
Sexy buttons has stalks for the new models in progress.
Thank you. This is a really helpful video for me. I was locked in on a 3, but I am now leaning toward a Y, principally on the range on the base model.
The current gen Model Y, being the last year, is as good as it could possibly get, newer 12v battery tech, better fit and finish, and a VERY attractive price.
It feels like waiting for M.Y. 2025 will erase much of that. I'm a bit torn but going to test drive a 2024 later today.
I’m waiting for the updated MYLR. Can’t wait!!
I test drove the update model 3 performance today to compare to my 2023 model Y LR. The new 3 is nice, but in my opinion not sufficiently better to wait until the refresh model Y next year if you are ready to buy.
nice to haves, for me its the cooled seats more than anything else.
OMG. Your vid is old already! I think I just read the LG now qualifies!! lol.
I am thinking about a new tesla but buying a new model y now but the bottom would drop out them when the refresh comes. Might have to go the the new Kia EV6.
Timing can be challenging anticipating the new Y, a bird in the hand strategy would say get the current Y and don't look back.
If i qualify for the tax credit would i get that deducted at the time of purchase?
Strange, I have a completely different opinion of the cabin, I think it seems much more modern and of much better quality than our old 2023 Y And I actually think every reviewer I've seen has had the same opinion.
How much is your insurance costs for your CT?
Hi, I am currently driving Tesla model Y. I would like to upgrade to model X before I get cyber truck maybe in two years what do you think? I know model X is more comfortable, but is it worthy?
Thanks
Janusz
I really wish the focus on range range range would end. At 270-300 it’s already larger than my bladder can comfortably accommodate, and I mean if you are running low stop and recharge. It only comes into play on long road trips anyway and how many are people making per year. For daily use it’s not even an issue. We need to move on.
Are the cooled seats actually good? We have had them in a few cars and it seems like you can barely feel it. Can anyone weight in?
They’re really good I drive it to the gym and instantly cooled off …. In my opinion the model 3 AC alone doesn’t cool that effectively. I swear my 2016 civic had better Air conditioning. so the cooled seats make a huge difference.
@@James-dy6zh Thanks for your insight!
You are wrong when adding the credit. The way it works is MSRP plus sales tax, then take the 7,500 out.
Thanks for the video! I will wait for the refresh Model Y. Help me please, i installed a rear entertainment system on my Model Y and subscribe to the montly Wi-Fi. How can i get the Wifi connection to this rear entertainment system?
Excellent Analysis! I am always asking this question! Thanks!
I disagree, here in Canada the model y extended is priced $4000 more than the model 3, extended, similar with the other 2 versions, so I will wait, 2025 will see a change in a lot of EV's
We just bought the long range model 3 and we got the tax credit!
This is my Delima. I will be demo driving a Model Y.
I’m waiting for the refresh of the Y, Tesla is making a big mistake by not bringing the refresh this year. It’s what the people want!
So If the screen breaks you can’t drive. Smh
the RWD model 3 long range does qualify for the tax credit. Its the standard range that does not. Same with the long range AWD
The impact on used Y prices as the new model comes out could be a consideration. And 2 year old cars may get to the level to get the $4k benefit from a dealer.
Unless you need the extra space, no doubt M3 is the superior one.
I’m waiting to replace my 2020 MYP + FSD + Hansshow automatic frunk + Bioweapon defense mode with a 2025 MYLR if they transfer my FSD.
Waiting for a real good deal for M3😅
I just want the cooled seats
But see how the new Model 3 is better. It is a 50% update and improvement of the old one. Model Y is currently worth buying before the facelift.
Answer is get a molded 3 for under 25k and be happy you saved and get the tax discount too.
Seats arent cooled. Seats circulate air from vents
1. M3 cheaper
2. M3 360 miles range
3. M3 fully upgraded ventilated seats.
Model 3 LR is the best option, especially now that it qualifies for the full $7500 federal tax credit
Just order model Y RWD in singapore. SGD $210k THANK YOU😊
Not video being out dated within 24hrs damn 😂
Long range is now qualified
and now the Model 3 LR gets the tax credit within hours after this drops 🤷♂
model y
Do you think the refresh model Y will get EV credit now that Trump is going to win?? New to tesla, want to buy one- not sure when to pull the trigger.
Just in, the model 3 long range now qualifies for the full $7500 tax credit!
I’m waiting for the refresh……Y
If you have lots of kids model y now. Everyone else model 3 best. 360 miles range!
y refresh all the way
less than a day old and it's already an obsolete video haha
Crazy how this video already has outdated info 😂
This video so inaccurate. M3 is 5000 cheaper for me
And if you purchase a 2024 M3P in Ultra Red paint with FSD software package on the Tesla's official website, as of this writing, it's only $57,130 (all fees included) at point of sale before tax/registration, if you the purchaser are $7,500-federal-tax-credit qualified. It's like getting the included FSD software package practically free!!
why the stupid delay on the Model Y refresh ? just give people what they want NOW before chinese competition takes over
Man TBG…Tesla dropped the price by $250 on on the M3LR just to throw off your numbers!😂
Tax Credits will probably go away next year if Trump is elected.
I really doubt it
Exactly all ev will stop. Idiot drill baby drill
Not woth Elon licking Donalds balls on Twitter every day
@@mondogomez5credits gone, ‘25, announced by Trump-supported by Musk.
