    My favourite phrase that you use is hoping that it gives people the confidence to do the same thing that you just did. It's really positive language and makes it feel more accessible without an expectation of 'Well I showed you. Now you have no reason not to be able to do the same.'. Hope is such an awesome word and pairing it with that phrase of yours is a big deal. Love your tutorials. Can't wait for more. :)

    • @TableTopReadyYoutube

      Thank you. I always felt that phrase sums up what I'm always trying to do with my content. My goal is to help people and most of the time people just need some encouragment and that knowledge. The more we know the less scary things are. I really do believe anyone can paint, they just need to believe it.

    I've watched almost every single battle sister painting tutorial on youtube.
    but nothing was even similar to the box art.
    battle sister is a very popular faction, still we can't get a nice tutorial for their basic squad.
    It's weird. might be it's pretty difficult to paint nicely.
    at last, this is the most comprehensive and best ever tutorial for box art level battle sisters squad.
    thank you as always.😆

    The part on the robes... I was sure I would struggle with getting definition in them but your advice there made them come out looking great.

    I've been absent from mini painting for years, but the consumption of mini painting and wargaming videos in the past 2 years has reignited my interest, and I ordered a box of Battle Sisters ( always liked them! ) and a whole slew of tools and paints yesterday. I was just eyeballing what paints I need ( mostly Vallejo ) - I already felt like I need to order more paints because I thought I was missing some, and your tutorial is a great base to check those colors against and decide what to get. Amazing results there!

      Welcome back to the hobby. I really like the vellejo paints, they do the model clours range which are colour matched to the citadel range. good luck. remeber to take your time, this can be quite advanced for a new painter. I would just get use to painting again first and do all the base colours to start. Practice on those spare bits in the box as well

    • @Squirrelsquid
      @Squirrelsquid Год назад

      @@TableTopReadyRUclips Thank you! Yeah, looking at those sprues, some parts look almost fragile ( like the banner cage thing ) I definitely don't want to rush those, as I am doing them for the joy of painting, not to get a battle ready force, at least any time soon. I'll definitely be getting some more paints ( matching colors from your tutorial ) - I wish I just would have seen this video sooner, but I guess some extra colors for potential future projects never hurt. :) Also, the tip to pin the models in subassemblies is a very good tip. I'll be doing that too.

    • @Squirrelsquid
      @Squirrelsquid Год назад

      @@TableTopReadyRUclips Oh, also I was wondering: Some of those bits in your video, were they just glued to some left over sprue with a dab of super glue? wouldn't that "snap off" point be unpainted? Should those be painted once off the armature?

    I'm primarily slapping Contrast paints on my sisters atm, but I'll be keeping this guide in mind for doing their faces properly! Also the dark leather scheme starting with black is very helpful, thank you!
    Although I've only done my Canoness and some disposable Novitiates to completion so far, so could put the extra effort in on the rest... not sure how you'd tackle metallic green armour though? So far I'm doing a flat Runefang Steel > Creed Camo contrast. Convinietly they then all have black outer and red inner robes, so I can reuse your colours and methods for those XD

    I have been a subscriber for years now and you do an incredible job. It has helped me to watch your videos to improve as a painter. But I still find it hard to make fine higlights. I don't know what kind of brush and what consistency the paints have to have. I don't know how to make very thin lines on the edge of the armors or details. Good video as always.

    • @TableTopReadyYoutube
      @TableTopReadyYoutube  Год назад

      Thank you for your long time support, I really appreciate it. The consistency of the paint really isn’t as important as how much paint you have on your brush. You’ll find a consistency that works for you as you get better at it. I always say to remove some paint from your brush which helps get those crisper lines.
      Something that can also help is getting magnifiers to wear or a pair of reading glasses which is what I tend to use. You’ll be able to see better what your brush is doing.
      Maybe try a wet pallet. You can make one very easily with a tub with a lid. Some paper towel and non waxed baking paper. This will stop your paint drying to quickly.
      Lastly it really is just practice, but intentional practice. It does take a long time. I spent 6 months just highlighting space marines. Don’t worry about all the different highlights, just focus on edge highlighting until you master that. Then you can expand to the other highlights
      I just use a small citadel layer brush but everyone is different. Find a brush and size you personally like to use. Expensive isn’t always better. You should be able to highlight with any brush, just look after it and change it regularly
      Other than that, it’s down to you to keep going 💪🏻 you can do it

      If you are going to use Abaddon Black from the pot make sure thin your paint properly and use multiple thin layers as normal. if you watch my new painting your first miniature video I paint the undercoat on. make sure to then let that paint dry for at least a day so its properly set

    I see you primed the sections of the model that will need to be glued together. How do you glue the parts together with the primed sections? Also, won't this leave a seam of some kind between the parts?

    • @TableTopReadyYoutube
      @TableTopReadyYoutube  Год назад +2

      When I'm assembling after painting I'll scrape away the paint from those areas. If you don't want to do this then you can just superglue them without any issues. The paint isn't really thick enough to cause any problems either. But with everything, take your time and always do things the way you prefer to do them as you may prefer something different.

      I always say it depends on what you want out of the hobby. My goal is to show people whats possible and teach people how to paint :) A lot of the time for my own miniatures I'll keep it very simple with just line highlights. I will admit thought there is great satisfaction in painting miniatures to a higher level and we only have to paint something once and I've had a lot of my paints for a couple of years
