I remember going to UH volleyball games as a young kid and being in awe of the UH pep band. My middle and high school years I was in band because of that memory as a kid. I unfortunately never did make it into playing after high school though I was involved in community band for a couple years after that. I may not know Gwen personally or got to play under her direction but as a young child going to those games she really inspired me throughout my years in music.
