- Sometimes it nice to just kick back and take it slow. Really slow. So what if evolution had the same mindset, and decided to take its time before getting rid of some prehistoric creatures? Saw a fossil model of one of these once, most insane thing I've ever seen
He made them sound harmless but realistically, they were very dangerous animals capable of short busts of speed to defend themselves.
Also, they were largely herbivores, but it is likely they hunted for meat once per month or so, like modern chimpanzees.

You do know there are reports of an animal called Mapinguari right?
Basically it is said to be from 6.6 to 10 feet in height and with massive claws, reddish and brown fur and can walk bipedally and quadripedally with a large and thick tail. While we don't know if the ground sloth was aggressive, the Mapinguari was territorial and if you look at the two-toed sloth they can at times be a bit aggressive. Likely a living relative of the Mylodon a species of ground sloth that went extinct 5,000 years ago.
Also, we shouldn't bring extinct species back, because we need to focus on more important things like vaccines, cures, medical attention and even to conserve Endangered species.
when I was a child like 6 years old i watched a documentary about that a guy searching for this animal for the next year's I was always scared to open doors for fear that that animal would be right on the opposite from the door. now remembering this already freakes me out. thanks for reminding me....

Unless we "domesticated" Megatherium or some other kind of giant ground sloth. Not sure about the giant mountain or giant sea sloths, but that's a significant part of how the ground ones died out: humans. I'm not sure how giant tree sloths would come about to begin with.
