I have to make a catapult with good accuracy. Me and my team have to predict the distance it can launch to and it only has room for a 6 inch error. Im hoping your design will work for me and my group, I will comment to let you know!
Hi Mr.Burns!! It’s Mary from your 2020 graduating AP class! Im taking physics in my third year in college and because of your class it’s so easy! Thank You :)
Thx bcs sharing how to make a simple catapult, it was a long time for me to searching the model of the catapult..also, thx bcs sharing the tips to make sure the launcher will go far..i will apply it in my school projecy..❤❤
Alright. Now it’s the time to make this 30 times bigger. This is not a joke. During the summer, I’m gonna try and make a water balloon catapult and prank my cousins when they get to the house.
Hey Mr. Burns. If you still reply to these comments, can you let me know what the maximum amount of rubber bands I should use to not break the catapult and to achieve both long and accurate shots?
Not really possible how to answer this question. Every rubber band has different amounts of elasticity. Also, how sturdy you build the catapult matters. Wishing you the best of luck!
Hello! Im making a catapult for my project at school.. does this go 2 meters in the air? And do you have any suggestions about having something pull it back ?
hello, can you please tell me how far and high this will go also how many rubber bands can i add on each side without it breaking? im using four on each side
Hi i needed a catuplt with good accuracy for algebra and me and my partners were looking for a video to help and we found this one. it was not very accurate in the end. we all failed the class due to all the flaws in this catapult like when we shot the ping pong ball the catapult would hop so we had to fix that and the popsicle stick with the bottle cap would slide down. it was not 100% accurate your thumb nail was very miss leading. thank you 😠😠
Sorry to hear, I'm sure if you tried to make it again. It would be a lot better the second time around. That's usually how it goes when you build things.
Who is here because they are doing a school project? What do you need to do for your project?

@@bobdunkin you got this!
Hi, how can I contact you?
I have to make a catapult exactly like this one but with a plastic spoon instead of a little cap throwing the objects
@@mrpeluchito Ye the launcher can easily be replaced by a spoon. Good Luck!

Hiyo Mary!
Happy to hear :), but I know you would have excelled in anything. Still interested in PT? Or has life thrown you into another direction.
Tysm this catapult is so good! I built it for a school project
Happy to hear!
Thank you for your help! I really needed the catapult for my siege tower. Thanks alot..
Wish you the best in all your battles :)
Thank you! I can't wait to show this in my medical castle project at school!

This is so cool I have never seen catapult like this before cool bro
Thanks! It’s an awesome catapult :)
Can I download it?

Sounds awesome! Would love to see a pic when it's done :)
Thanks for your design. I got full marks🎉🎉
Great job!

Very esy to follow step by step and nice project🎉
thanks!
road to 6k let's get this bread
i love you
Can you use bigger popsicle sticks for this, or does it have to be the thin ones?
You can but won’t recommend
Do wo use this catapult in explaining projectile motion?
Hello! Im making a catapult for my project at school.. does this go 2 meters in the air? And do you have any suggestions about having something pull it back ?
It can go 2 meters in the air, just make sure to angle it, so when the ball is released it goes high. You can pull it back with your hands???
No sir, she said we have to figure out a way to do that without using our hands
@@Itsjinx36 what does that mean? Can you use a pencil? to pull it back?
We are flinging a paper cub but we can not pull back the trigger, we have to find something to make it go off
hello, can you please tell me how far and high this will go
also how many rubber bands can i add on each side without it breaking? im using four on each side
how far does the object travel horizontally? can it travel at least 3 meters?
Depends on how many rubber bands you use and how strong they are, but it can definitely reach 3m.
@@physicsburns what do you mean?
@@ValoreFunnels More rubbers equals more distance (more power to throw), less rubbers means less distance.
Obviously not paying more attention..lol
We cant hold the project down. How would we keep it from topping over when i pull on the catapult with a string?
can you tape it to the base temporarily? If not you will need a very heavy base.
Can i make this as a experiment to show kinetic and poteciale energy??
Of course
Can I use super glue instead of glue gun ? 1:30
Yup, regular glue is stronger than a glue gun. However, glue guns work a lot faster.
How can we adjust angle in this as this is already build in an angle
You can put the stopper either lower or higher, to change the angle. I hope that makes sense.
@@physicsburns thanks for this i didnt think that u would reply on 1 yr old video
@@sanskaryadav923 never hurts to ask :)
What would be a good alternative to using hot glue? I don't that will be possible on my campus.
Anything really. Wood glue, Elmer’s glue. It just will take a lot longer to build.
Does someone wanna explain the science behind it for me!
Xin chào cho tôi hỏi cái đó có chiều dài là bai nhiêu vậy??
Hi! What kind of ball did you use? Thank you!
mini ping pong balls
How far does it go?
Depends on how many rubber bands you put onto it, but I have seen it go as far as 8 meters from the ground.
Hey, do you think i can do this?
Yuppers

School project, my son 6th grade has to make a catapult or a trebuchet.
Getting them started young! Love it!
What type of cap did you use sir
Poland spring bottle cap.
Anyone from mdis?
Yeah me too
Me 89

Yes me too from 89
From 87
Can it reach 5 meters? Do I need to adjust the angle?
adjusting angle or adding more rubberbands will make that happen
Hi, I have a school project based on this, my challenge is to make is go extremely high, how high can it go depending on where I place the pieces?
Yes you want the part where the trigger hits the popsicle stick to be low so that the angle is higher. Good luck.
I love physics😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉😅😅😅😅😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I am here for physics project 2023.
You got this!
Can I join your catapult practices?
Why of course!
I don't know what it is about popsicle sticks but they are surly unrated. Lol no joke
underrated for sure, you can do anything with them :)
Sir, How can I calculate the angle of it?
I would suggest looking at example #5 to help you ruclips.net/video/NVQk9jz4soA/видео.html&ab_channel=PhysicsBurns
