Quicksilver is obtainable at the Nexus, which is inside the anomaly. If you’re not sure what the anomaly is, keep playing through the main storyline, and it will become obvious. NOTE: once the anomaly is unlocked, the quicksilver missions will still take time to appear so keep playing through the storyline.
I don’t know why people take issue with other people cheating in this mostly single player game. Like I play this game so I can get cool spaceships and build a cool base in space. If you want to endlessly mine go ahead, I’m just enjoying my time exploring the universe

But I’ll lose interest quicker slogging through every planet in this exploration game just trying to scrape all the resources I need together. If this was a game like dark souls or satisfactory I would understand the argument that if you cheat and don’t build up from scratch then you haven’t truly experienced that game because those games are about you progressing through the land growing stronger and taking on more difficult foes, or in the case of satisfactory, building more and more elaborate factories so you can progress to the next tech level. No man’s sky’s entire marketing is based around “exploring an infinite universe”. I want to explore an infinite universe. If I want to play a mining game I will play deep rock galactic. If I want to play a grinding game I will play a cookie clicker. I know what I want from no man’s sky and I will play this mostly single player game in a way that meets my wants for this game
What I love about this game is you can pick it up and put it down anytime. Even with new content updates it's easy to pick up again without feeling like you need to replay something to get caught up to speed.
I've just got back into nms for the new update and this is literally game changing, I just don't have the time for the grinding anymore now that I've got a kid so I only get a few hours of time at night occasionally 😂
Non-exploit way to get lots of nanites fast: 1. Go to outlaw system 2. Shoot up freighters 3. Land on outlaw station and sell contraband 4. Use the money to buy suspicious packets (tech) and (arms) 5. Rinse/repeat until you've done this 10 times 6. Press E on all suspicious packets and sell all blueprints to vendor on any outlaw station PRESTO - 30k nanites, about 30 mins of work and you're ahead on units too (And next time you can just teleport between your new network of outlaw stations)
Facts. This is basically what I did to get 100k+ nanites. This was also when the outlaws update was new, and our ship cargo inventory was bugged; you could sell from it, and it wouldn't sell the items itself. But you'd get the nanites/units. It was such a stupid strong glitch.
About the Refiner Glitch, the triplet combo it works. I did it days ago but as i know in my experience, the whole glitch don't work inside your base zone. Go outside your building zone, travel a bit out of your base zone with your ship, exit, put the refiners, repeat, ejoy.
There's actually a way better method involving refiners: 1 place a portable refiner next to a base computer 2 go into the edit mode in the build menu 3 pick up the refiner, then press the cancel button so it snaps back to its original position 4 place your desired item into the refiner 5 pick up the base computer and press the cancel button (this creates copies of the refiner you picked up previously, along with the items inside each time you do this.) 6 repeat step 5 as many times as you like 7 delete refiners to collect items quickly 8 (optional) sell excess refiners in a trade terminal to unclog your inventory As a bonus this works for any buildable item, such as bio domes if you're in need of a lot of glass.
I have pretty much the same take on these glitches. It's your game, play it as you want. And I share your opinion. If you are just starting in NMS, these things are tempting, but I'd say... avoid them and enjoy the process. Otherwise you may miss the thrill of your first hours of adventure. Also, quick word about the refiner glitch: not sure if this has changed, but when I last played NMS (6 months ago), stacking more than 3-5 refiners would usually break the game a bit. Refiners couldn't be deleted properly, and worst case scenario I'd have a crash. That was on PC.
I have an exploit I like to use that I like to call Loot Reward Storage. All you need to do is find any container with 'junk items' you have to remove in order to open it. Rust, slime, et cetera. Remove those items then quickly exit out of the interface before you receive the reward from it. You'll store the event that normally closes the interface and the reward distribution for later. After that you can go to an exo suit upgrade pod and open up the interface. Give it a second and the stored event triggers, closing the interface and asking you where you want to put your exo suit upgrade. It likely works with many other things, but this makes exo suit upgrades free on planet since cargo drops are usually nearby.
Wait okay this explains something that never made sense - I was closing out of those loot containers quickly just to loot faster and afterwards the next upgrade, container, etc. Always just gives me the contents! I didn't realize that was a glitch.
Another great one is weapon smuggling in an outlaw system. Go to the mission guy and start and abandon missions until you get a smuggling mission (weapons is the best one) then start the mission. Wait until you see the 10 items go into your inventory the open your log and abandon the mission from there. No talk to the guy and accept the smuggling mission again. You can get as many stacks of the smuggled item as you want then just fly to the nearest non outlaw system and sell for nearly infinite money.
The staying power of the refiner dupe is impressive lmao... Prior to fractal I stuck some mould in there and refined it into nanites but instead of grabbing them performed the dupe glitch and made mad nanites
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have over 600hrs on Playstation and had everything unlocked. I recently got a Steam Deck and couldn't transfer my save from PS so was not looking forward to the grind all over again. The last glitch has saved me so much time so I can go back to what I really enjoy; exploring and building.
Duplicate a bunch of larva cores then refine them into Nanites but don't remove them from your refinery. Once you've accumulated 4100 nanites add another stack of 10 larva core and start stacking as many refineries you want on top of that one. You should be getting 10 larva core and 4100 nanites every time you break one down.
When the game reworked starship inventories. My friend discovered that items in the starship cargo inventory weren’t removed when selling so we got a bunch of Starship AI Valves which were the best at the time and hit the max unit count of 4.2 billion in seconds.
The original refiner glitch definitely still works at least for me, put one down and put what you want duped in the input box, then i can place a second refiner directly overlapping the first one, then delete both in quick succession and it doubles every time
So a friend literally started the game last night and wanted the expedition cleared, starting on the last day. (She is brand new, whats launcher fuel? how do I make metal sheets? That new). Using your dupe exploit video, I crafted every material she would need for the entire run, some expansions, and about 100k in nanites. we started at 1:15 am, and finished at 6:45. She now knows how to do everything solo. We used discord streaming to go through her mods, ships, layout, UI, as we needed them, explaining how and why it works. We couldn't have done it without your videos, that I watched before hand. Thanks!
Have 1 save you cheat on and another save you don't. Play each whenever mood fits. You'll enjoy the non cheat more usually but sometimes you'll play the cheat on lazy days or because just feel like it
I'm loving this video İ remember playing no man's sky on release date but grinding whole day isn't that easy especially if you have to work whole week. This helps a lot
Update: duplicate glitch really helped a lot. Since everything in game is overpriced thanks to your glitch i got most of them now I can peacefully explore everything
As of 17th April 2024. It only works if you build three. And it only doubles what you put in. Example: If you put 1 in it gives 2. 2 gives 4. 4 gives 8. The limit is the stack limit. Edit: Just tried a few more times and it is probably me doing something wrong but it is very temperamental. It worked 2 times and I can't seem to do it again. Edit 2: Still works. But you have to place them all without moving your camera at all. They can't be unaligned by much or it won't work
This explains so much. I started playing the other day, and while standing in the anomaly, somebody shoved 100 AI valves into my inventory valuing 2 billion. I’ve spent been raking nanites and upgrades.
Lol, exactly the same thing happened to me, probably on the same day. I was rich to begin with but then some dude gave me 5 billion, yes 5 billion in AI valves😅😂🤌🏼
The refiners glitch, stacking them into each other, still works for me as before. On PC and on PS5. It just does not seem towork reliable if i do this close to a base but everywhere else it still works 100% of the time.
I dont dare to put a full stack if thats the only stack i have of the items because 1 out of 10 times it doesnt work and my items are capable to vanish but 9 out of 10 times it works
at the pirate station, we take the task of transporting contraband, sell the contraband to the merchant on the left, cancel the task through the journal, repeat until the required number of nanites
There is also a NMSeditor save editor for PC where you can literally add any item in the game to your stash, fully upgrade tools and ships, supercharge every cell, enable all slots, resize them, add perfect S-class modules, adjust nanites and quicksilver and more just in a few minutes.
I am going to use this. I recently traded my fully upgraded freighter for a much worse one because it looked better (I am totally that person) Now I just want to quickly get the new freighter up to the way the old one was quickly. Thank you!
For the new players, you can dup nanites too, though it takes a little time commitment: you process runaway mold into nanites. You'll need about 2 or 3 full stacks of mold so you can hit the maximum of a little over 4000 nanites. As soon as it's done, grab the nanites and instead of collecting them, place them in the slot to refine. Then you follow the duplication glitch instructions. You can now pull out 4000 nanites at a time infinitely.
You can dupe actual nanites after refining hylene brains. Just refine as many brains as you can (I think it’s a limit of 18 brains) then put the remaining brains back into your inventory and drag the nanite (I think like 4800 nanites) to the refiners input instead of inventory.. then exit the refiner and stack 30 or so refiners on top and destroy them. Works great and saves you from duping so many brains.
I played the game all the way through legitimately to the point of a full wallet and nothing else to achieve so have no issue with using exploits like this to remove the grind of another play through. Being on PC I even use Goatfungus to play with ideas. It's all a game.
Good video. Its a personal game that time and effort turn into pride from my experience. Personally dont use exploits but play with others that do and I'll be a bum on basic resources when we're going extravagant on bases. These videos keep little communities in the loop so you understand why a squeaker has everything, but no idea how to have fun in the game.
I just use the refiner duplication glitch. You can put literally any item into a refiner and then with like 6 other ones you can quickly turn anything into thousands of them. Not even 5 minutes. Get inventory expansion things for exosuit frigate multi tool etc and you can pimp anything out and have billions of credits. Sorta defeats the game in a lot of ways but its there. Good for doing expeditions really.
As someone just jumping in, I’ve been using the dupe a ton. It’s actually a great way to catch up to the community. I have less than 30 hours but I can already do so much…
I think its good to mention that the portable refiner dupe has been around for about a year(yes even the one showcased in this video) hello games knows about it, and their temp fix has been trying to crash peoples game when the game detects your doing it. So if you dont want to crash, I would wait 2-5 seconds before dismantling each refiner instead of just spamming it.
Fun fact. REFINERIES are so busted that if you want to use them it's genuinely difficult to avoid duplication exploits. I have to memorize which recipes I've banned so it doesn't feel like I'm cheesing.
Used the dupe glitch to outfit my interceptor wing with S class copies of my interceptor. I had to find other interceptors on the planet, but the dupe gave me the nanites needed to upgrade my ship and buy the S class modules that my npc pilots don’t use, but hey I was gonna try to get all my crew upgraded infra-knifes and shields.
I got so used to the Personal Refiner-Anomaly glitch, that I just use it when I need something, instead of the regular Refiner glitch. But any exploit is a good exploit, when you don't feel like grinding. Great vid, hope it helps some folks.
Idk if this is common knowledge but if you have larval cores from abandoned buildings, you can turn them into nanite clusters in a refinery. 1 larval core->50 nanites. So using the refinery dupe glitch you could be looking at thousands of nanites per hour
Gee it is almost as if the Developers knew that people like to play to have fun and that in a world of billions of people there might be more than one way to play a game and have fun without grieving any other players!!! Love the advice man thank you, I like to call glitches and "cheats" trainers as they help get used to game, or they help make a tediously boring and daftly competitive game worse than it could be. for me I like to play for the story, not so much the grind or the popularity points of public gamer leagues etc etc. So I skip between them all and basically have fun. so I really appreciate your attitude here in this video and your advice. and as for all the Competative gamers out there, don't stress it, I will not be your way in this game it's a massive section of the universe to explore and explore it I will!

I have a couple saves that NMS Purist where I don't do any glitching, duping or exploits. Its fun to actually have to do things to get stuff. I get around more and find a bunch of cool places. And 100,000,000 is a lot of money again. 2000 Nanites is huge. I suggest to every new player to do the same their first run. Learn the game and do all the stuff to get the things. Have a crappy ship and weapon for a while. You appreciate things more. And then be a baller and dupe the crap out of everything and never worry about anything ever again. 😆

Good post! Did the build glitch, takes some practice but it works like a champ. For nanites I use the full inventory portable refiner method. I remap a key, and walk away. Come back later to millions of nanites.
The 2 refiner glitch always works. Just have. A. Be far enough that you can get them inside each other. B. Always delete the one you placed down first.
Ya I made the jump from ps4 to pc recently and being able to mod the game to allow me to buy the expedition items made me not feel bad about the jump. Only "cheat" mod I use is for a infinite jetpack and oh my God it makes everything so much less annoying.
I think exploits can vastly shortcut the grind and tedium of multiple saves. I have hundreds of hours in NMS across multiple saves. I'm uninterested in grinding for units so i can buy a decent multitool when ive done that seven times already.
This might get patched soon, but it is possible to build the mining laser on the sentinel multi tools, even though they come with the hijacked laser, which is intended to serve as the multi tool’s mining laser. Having the 2 mining lasers next to each other provides a massive adjacency bonus, causing the mining beam’s damage to skyrocket.
I went to my mold farm and ran through it with the hijacked laser. Then I added the mining laser and ran through it again and ended up with less recovered mold after adding the mining laser. And once you add it you can't remove it.

I actually recently found what I guess you could call an exploit, but it only works in relaxed difficulty I’m pretty sure. Basically what you do is you buy any ship on any space station and immediately salvage it at the ship upgrade station. Usually gives you double the credits you bought it for, plus a few upgrade modules to go along with it

I spent a couple hours this morning leisurely doing #2. I had half the stuff but none of the more expensive items. Still going to do Nexus missions. After all I want to see what happens when you buy a 1000 fireworks at once.
Exploits really aren't needed when you can just change many of the games properties in its settings. You can basically turn on creative mode while not disabling achievements. Get more resources, unlock all of everything for free, free crafting, free ship fuel, etc. If you find an epic freighter you want but don't have near enough units. Make it free in the settings and buy it.
BTW, the creative mode is worth playing. Say you need to find a way to build your statis device farming without cheating. It becomes a good farming game. LOL
The grind is fun, but the duplication glitch helps speed up the process, even with maximum money and nanites this game is still a grind! It's crazy!!! I love it
I use a lot of these as i help new players get started by providing these items like slot upgrades and modules for them when they need however I was wondering if you know where i can find the exosuit and multi tool expansion slot items because i havent found them to be able to duplicate them for these new players im on xbox series x any ideas where to look?
Multi-tool expansions are tough to get. You need to get them from the correct “secure facility”. I think it is the manufacturing facility. Go to one, solve the alarm puzzle and then get the multi-tool expansion.
Portal refiner glitch still works. I stack them one on top another in the same orientation. I just used it today *May 21 2023* tainted metal and duped 40k worth.
Thanks for sharing! I understand your trepidation sharing these, but I’ll just set rules for myself for runs where I don’t want to cheat, like the expedition.
you can also refine an item to 4095 on normal mode, leave it in the finished product slot, recharge your refiner, and add something to the deposit slot, when you duplicate the item you get 120 carbon(if fuel is at 100%), and duplicate of everything else, so can get 4095 nanites, or whatever you refined, as well as what you put in the deposit slot (for example 120 carbon from the fuel (if fuel is at 100%), 9999 mold, or other nanite generating materiel, and 4095 nanites after you refine to get all 4095 (can take a few minutes)) I do this on occasion for a new game or new expedition, I get the 900 or so salvage data needed for all base components, and get a nice 122k nanites (btw I duplicate the salvage data, and refine it to get the 4095 nanites, fairly easy way to get nanites in early game because salvage data is just about everywhere and it's easy to get 2 metal plates and 60 oxygen to start the duplication glitch process)
Think carefully before you do this, if you're like me it won't take long before you get bored of the game because you can glitch your way to anything without investing any effort. I'm already starting to feel it now that I spent one evening maxing out my ship and multitool slots (plus left a stack of 50 for each for future tool/ship expansions) as well as getting 300k nanites and countless million credits. Leave yourself some stuff to do the old fashioned way. Using the bot to have a pre-made base delivered to you seems so unsatisfying to me.
I start NMS when utopia came, and i had 200 hours legit save did almost everything, and after sentinel update i lost it bcs of crashing, i got back to the point i was on new save in 20+ hours.. all bcs of almighty refiner glich 😅 and i start on my new job so it was necesery 😅
On console, you can place your first refiner and if you don’t move the camera, you can place a refiner, items in it and then spam the build menu and a refiner in that exact same spot, I can spam 7 refiners in like 15 seconds and have a seriously quick rotation in. You can also just use two refiners, place one, take one, place one, take one and keep doing that, just don’t move the camera. I wanted to see just how fast so I started with 1 Chromatic metal and I duped that 1 until I completely filled a maxed inventory ship with all chromatic metal slots at 9999 It took me about 4 minutes. It’s fuckin OP lol
Funny thing with nanite duplication.... you can refine a bunch of stuff into nanites, then drag the nanites into the slot to try refine em again then stack all the refiners, you will duplicate the nanites you refined from materials you collected when you retrieve the refiners
Yep using whispering eggs is probably the fastest way if you have maxes out your inventory slots you can put down a crap ton of refiners or you can do it in batches keeping the eggs and the nanites in the refiner will help with that. Alternatively you can dupe a crap ton of S class modules and sell them for nanites.....
@@altorins how much do those go for? I was duping the hyaline brains that you get from sentinel ships. I was getting 250 nanites per brain. Duping them with the max of 10 per slot with 9 refiners. I ended up getting over 200k in 5 mins
The build anything one is so good!! Nothing worse than having to leave your base building to get cadmium or something else to build one thing. I dont mind mining for carbon and stuff it can be relaxing with the music but thats as far as me enjoying mining goes lol
You can always turn crafting requirements off whenever you are building so you don’t need to grind the resource’s, I have a creative save that I just try building different bases on for free before I make them on one of my survival saves

exploit I use is the moving the seed of tech by removing the teleport receiver then reinstall it. Ie you find a good stat X class mod on the 6th package you open then reload save then uninstall the receiver then reinstall/uninstall 5 times to move the seed, then on no 6 package open the X class. Used to have to use a lot of c class to move the seed.
sad the glitch i saw for medium refiner w portable to get dupes of both items from the medium doesnt seem to work anymore but least the base one does plus if u make free stuff at base and scrap it boom instant free mats
@@WhiskyBarrelGaming yup still the double dupe of the medium w those was pretty sick building stuff for free then breaking it down in base is also effective for getting some starting chunks of stuff to get going w dupes also so that tip i didnt know and it has helped alot its also just fun for goofing around and say making a poor nautilus be stuck on land as a broken down storage bin lol

I'm all for playing games however you find entertaining. That said, I still don't understand taking a bunch of steps to give yourself money when you can just toggle the resource requirements for purchases on/off in the difficulty menu. Is there something I'm missing? Help me understand! Otherwise, good video. I took a break to play other games for a bit, and coming back, I had totally forgotten about the wire glitch and its never-ending usefulness. 👍
*many have locked 🔒 their settings so an adjustment would not be possible. and as odd as it sounds, duping and still doing “something” for units and nanites is fun. I still wanna play the game afterall, just like doing things differently to break things up. having a platinum farm and refining your way to a billion units is considered “legit” but not as fun for me. eventually when you play the game long enough, it all becomes creative mode.
They only just added the in game difficulty setting which works well for players like me since I can set it up differently depending on the situation. Also you can't actually give yourself money. You can duplicate tainted medal, but you still have to refine it into nanites.
Pretty easy. People who play for years have locked difficulty settings. That's the first thing I did when this was the option. It's not the way we did this in the past and it's not the way you suppose to play this game. Pick a difficulty and lock it immediately at it's default settings
i can still do the portable glitch by being off multiplayer and be on my freighter and place one port refiner down and put what i want into it that i want to dup and stack 50 or more port refiners on top exactly the hold down the middle mouse button to reclaim them all and have 50 or more of that item spawn into inventory with zero issues. i do this with my runaway molds in stacks of 5000 over and over. then refine them on my freighters large refiner.

Not really an exploit, but maybe something helpful! If you don't have the cash or don't want to pay for an Emergency Signal Scanner, you can do the following: Use an Anomaly Detector (randomly obtained by shooting space rocks) and pulse until the derelict freighter symbol comes up; stop and go through it. Pawn off the spoils at the space station. Go into space and call the Anomaly Hit up Helios in the Anomaly for a free Emergency Signal Scanner.😉 EDIT: You can then get a free ESS every week from Helios too!
So, you can have multiple saves.. join a friend, you in creative, friend in normal or custom mode. You scrap a ship, give him all of the expensive stuff to hold, then switch to a "normal" non creative save, join aforementioned friend again, get your stuff back, and sell the stuff. Works like a charm.
You are adding steps unnecessarily. Make shure you have all desired items in your inventory, join friend (if in your ship do not exit) and send them all items, leave group and load restore point. Confirm all items are still in your inventory, if not reload last save (do not exit ship, use pulse drive, or warp between any step) if you want to make hundreds of items rejoin friend and have them send it back, after wich you can enter and exit your ship to update the restore point and repeat as desired.
The game came into the Nintendo Switch which the only thing i have. No PC, Xbox, PS4. Im new to the game and hated being poor in the game. Will finish the game 1st and arterwards ill try to do this glitches. Thanks
To each their own but some of the methods seem like a more tedious way of just modifying difficulty settings… which I also understand some people get all bent out of shape over for some reason but hey… I’m playing to enjoy the game, not for some telltale difficulty mark on my profile for the more snobby players to scoff at. Clocked hundreds of hours on PS4 long before the difficulty updates, moved to PC eventually and just could not be arsed with going through all that grinding and base building again so I was glad when I could just toggle free building/crafting on and just build myself up to where I was on console. Don’t see the point in locking the difficulty, I’m always tweaking my bases and playing how I want to play, and exploits that can be easily achieved through the difficulty settings I just don’t have the patience for personally… extra effort for the same outcome when I could just be exploring or designing more bases. Been there and done all the mining and crafting metal sheets for years, now I can enjoy the game as a hybrid creative mode / survival mode game On saying that, some of the exploits like duping and the emergency receiver thing are good to know. I don’t have free purchases switched on or anything like that so for tainted metal and nanites it’s good to find ways to get those easier… well, nanites are fairly easy if you just spend your days slaughtering wave after wave of sentinels for their glass

What I love about this game is you can pick it up and put it down anytime. Even with new content updates it's easy to pick up again without feeling like you need to replay something to get caught up to speed.
I've just got back into nms for the new update and this is literally game changing, I just don't have the time for the grinding anymore now that I've got a kid so I only get a few hours of time at night occasionally 😂

Non-exploit way to get lots of nanites fast:
1. Go to outlaw system
2. Shoot up freighters
3. Land on outlaw station and sell contraband
4. Use the money to buy suspicious packets (tech) and (arms)
5. Rinse/repeat until you've done this 10 times
6. Press E on all suspicious packets and sell all blueprints to vendor on any outlaw station
PRESTO - 30k nanites, about 30 mins of work and you're ahead on units too
(And next time you can just teleport between your new network of outlaw stations)

Facts. This is basically what I did to get 100k+ nanites.
This was also when the outlaws update was new, and our ship cargo inventory was bugged; you could sell from it, and it wouldn't sell the items itself. But you'd get the nanites/units. It was such a stupid strong glitch.

About the Refiner Glitch, the triplet combo it works. I did it days ago but as i know in my experience, the whole glitch don't work inside your base zone. Go outside your building zone, travel a bit out of your base zone with your ship, exit, put the refiners, repeat, ejoy.
There's actually a way better method involving refiners:
1 place a portable refiner next to a base computer
2 go into the edit mode in the build menu
3 pick up the refiner, then press the cancel button so it snaps back to its original position
4 place your desired item into the refiner
5 pick up the base computer and press the cancel button (this creates copies of the refiner you picked up previously, along with the items inside each time you do this.)
6 repeat step 5 as many times as you like
7 delete refiners to collect items quickly
8 (optional) sell excess refiners in a trade terminal to unclog your inventory
As a bonus this works for any buildable item, such as bio domes if you're in need of a lot of glass.
I have pretty much the same take on these glitches. It's your game, play it as you want.
And I share your opinion. If you are just starting in NMS, these things are tempting, but I'd say... avoid them and enjoy the process. Otherwise you may miss the thrill of your first hours of adventure.
Also, quick word about the refiner glitch: not sure if this has changed, but when I last played NMS (6 months ago), stacking more than 3-5 refiners would usually break the game a bit. Refiners couldn't be deleted properly, and worst case scenario I'd have a crash. That was on PC.
weird.. I usually dupe 5-9 at a time and have never had problems. mayyyybe a couple times the item didnt dupe, but trying again always worked.
I have an exploit I like to use that I like to call Loot Reward Storage. All you need to do is find any container with 'junk items' you have to remove in order to open it. Rust, slime, et cetera. Remove those items then quickly exit out of the interface before you receive the reward from it. You'll store the event that normally closes the interface and the reward distribution for later. After that you can go to an exo suit upgrade pod and open up the interface. Give it a second and the stored event triggers, closing the interface and asking you where you want to put your exo suit upgrade. It likely works with many other things, but this makes exo suit upgrades free on planet since cargo drops are usually nearby.
Wait okay this explains something that never made sense - I was closing out of those loot containers quickly just to loot faster and afterwards the next upgrade, container, etc. Always just gives me the contents! I didn't realize that was a glitch.
Another great one is weapon smuggling in an outlaw system. Go to the mission guy and start and abandon missions until you get a smuggling mission (weapons is the best one) then start the mission. Wait until you see the 10 items go into your inventory the open your log and abandon the mission from there. No talk to the guy and accept the smuggling mission again. You can get as many stacks of the smuggled item as you want then just fly to the nearest non outlaw system and sell for nearly infinite money.
The staying power of the refiner dupe is impressive lmao... Prior to fractal I stuck some mould in there and refined it into nanites but instead of grabbing them performed the dupe glitch and made mad nanites
they patched it for expeditions tho lol

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have over 600hrs on Playstation and had everything unlocked. I recently got a Steam Deck and couldn't transfer my save from PS so was not looking forward to the grind all over again. The last glitch has saved me so much time so I can go back to what I really enjoy; exploring and building.
Duplicate a bunch of larva cores then refine them into Nanites but don't remove them from your refinery. Once you've accumulated 4100 nanites add another stack of 10 larva core and start stacking as many refineries you want on top of that one. You should be getting 10 larva core and 4100 nanites every time you break one down.
Last time I tried that I got the items but not the nanites. But since it obviously worked for you I might try it again.
When the game reworked starship inventories. My friend discovered that items in the starship cargo inventory weren’t removed when selling so we got a bunch of Starship AI Valves which were the best at the time and hit the max unit count of 4.2 billion in seconds.
The original refiner glitch definitely still works at least for me, put one down and put what you want duped in the input box, then i can place a second refiner directly overlapping the first one, then delete both in quick succession and it doubles every time
So a friend literally started the game last night and wanted the expedition cleared, starting on the last day. (She is brand new, whats launcher fuel? how do I make metal sheets? That new).
Using your dupe exploit video, I crafted every material she would need for the entire run, some expansions, and about 100k in nanites. we started at 1:15 am, and finished at 6:45. She now knows how to do everything solo. We used discord streaming to go through her mods, ships, layout, UI, as we needed them, explaining how and why it works.
We couldn't have done it without your videos, that I watched before hand. Thanks!

You'll enjoy the non cheat more usually but sometimes you'll play the cheat on lazy days or because just feel like it

As of 17th April 2024. It only works if you build three. And it only doubles what you put in. Example: If you put 1 in it gives 2. 2 gives 4. 4 gives 8. The limit is the stack limit.
Edit: Just tried a few more times and it is probably me doing something wrong but it is very temperamental. It worked 2 times and I can't seem to do it again.
Edit 2: Still works. But you have to place them all without moving your camera at all. They can't be unaligned by much or it won't work
you've got a few pixels you can hit or miss with, but it's working like a charm. Just keep that aim steady when placing it.
This explains so much. I started playing the other day, and while standing in the anomaly, somebody shoved 100 AI valves into my inventory valuing 2 billion. I’ve spent been raking nanites and upgrades.

The refiners glitch, stacking them into each other, still works for me as before. On PC and on PS5.
It just does not seem towork reliable if i do this close to a base but everywhere else it still works 100% of the time.
I dont dare to put a full stack if thats the only stack i have of the items because 1 out of 10 times it doesnt work and my items are capable to vanish but 9 out of 10 times it works
at the pirate station, we take the task of transporting contraband, sell the contraband to the merchant on the left, cancel the task through the journal, repeat until the required number of nanites
moved from ps4 to pc, that quicksilver glitch was a lifesaver
There is also a NMSeditor save editor for PC where you can literally add any item in the game to your stash, fully upgrade tools and ships, supercharge every cell, enable all slots, resize them, add perfect S-class modules, adjust nanites and quicksilver and more just in a few minutes.

For the new players, you can dup nanites too, though it takes a little time commitment: you process runaway mold into nanites. You'll need about 2 or 3 full stacks of mold so you can hit the maximum of a little over 4000 nanites. As soon as it's done, grab the nanites and instead of collecting them, place them in the slot to refine. Then you follow the duplication glitch instructions. You can now pull out 4000 nanites at a time infinitely.
You could do it with other nanite-refining things as well. 1 hadal core = 50 nanites. Make 8 stacks and you got 4k... and they refine quickly.
You can dupe actual nanites after refining hylene brains. Just refine as many brains as you can (I think it’s a limit of 18 brains) then put the remaining brains back into your inventory and drag the nanite (I think like 4800 nanites) to the refiners input instead of inventory.. then exit the refiner and stack 30 or so refiners on top and destroy them. Works great and saves you from duping so many brains.
I played the game all the way through legitimately to the point of a full wallet and nothing else to achieve so have no issue with using exploits like this to remove the grind of another play through. Being on PC I even use Goatfungus to play with ideas. It's all a game.
Good video. Its a personal game that time and effort turn into pride from my experience. Personally dont use exploits but play with others that do and I'll be a bum on basic resources when we're going extravagant on bases. These videos keep little communities in the loop so you understand why a squeaker has everything, but no idea how to have fun in the game.
I just use the refiner duplication glitch. You can put literally any item into a refiner and then with like 6 other ones you can quickly turn anything into thousands of them. Not even 5 minutes. Get inventory expansion things for exosuit frigate multi tool etc and you can pimp anything out and have billions of credits. Sorta defeats the game in a lot of ways but its there. Good for doing expeditions really.
As someone just jumping in, I’ve been using the dupe a ton. It’s actually a great way to catch up to the community. I have less than 30 hours but I can already do so much…

I think its good to mention that the portable refiner dupe has been around for about a year(yes even the one showcased in this video) hello games knows about it, and their temp fix has been trying to crash peoples game when the game detects your doing it. So if you dont want to crash, I would wait 2-5 seconds before dismantling each refiner instead of just spamming it.
I love building the aquatic structures on land. They make great hazardous environment structures.
Fun fact. REFINERIES are so busted that if you want to use them it's genuinely difficult to avoid duplication exploits. I have to memorize which recipes I've banned so it doesn't feel like I'm cheesing.
Used the dupe glitch to outfit my interceptor wing with S class copies of my interceptor. I had to find other interceptors on the planet, but the dupe gave me the nanites needed to upgrade my ship and buy the S class modules that my npc pilots don’t use, but hey I was gonna try to get all my crew upgraded infra-knifes and shields.
I got so used to the Personal Refiner-Anomaly glitch, that I just use it when I need something, instead of the regular Refiner glitch.
But any exploit is a good exploit, when you don't feel like grinding.

Idk if this is common knowledge but if you have larval cores from abandoned buildings, you can turn them into nanite clusters in a refinery. 1 larval core->50 nanites. So using the refinery dupe glitch you could be looking at thousands of nanites per hour

Love the advice man thank you, I like to call glitches and "cheats" trainers as they help get used to game, or they help make a tediously boring and daftly competitive game worse than it could be. for me I like to play for the story, not so much the grind or the popularity points of public gamer leagues etc etc.

I have a couple saves that NMS Purist where I don't do any glitching, duping or exploits. Its fun to actually have to do things to get stuff. I get around more and find a bunch of cool places. And 100,000,000 is a lot of money again. 2000 Nanites is huge.
I suggest to every new player to do the same their first run. Learn the game and do all the stuff to get the things. Have a crappy ship and weapon for a while. You appreciate things more.
And then be a baller and dupe the crap out of everything and never worry about anything ever again. 😆

Good post! Did the build glitch, takes some practice but it works like a champ. For nanites I use the full inventory portable refiner method. I remap a key, and walk away. Come back later to millions of nanites.

The 2 refiner glitch always works. Just have. A. Be far enough that you can get them inside each other. B. Always delete the one you placed down first.
If you make nanites in the portable refiner, leave them in it and then duplicate anything you get both.

Ya I made the jump from ps4 to pc recently and being able to mod the game to allow me to buy the expedition items made me not feel bad about the jump. Only "cheat" mod I use is for a infinite jetpack and oh my God it makes everything so much less annoying.
I think exploits can vastly shortcut the grind and tedium of multiple saves. I have hundreds of hours in NMS across multiple saves. I'm uninterested in grinding for units so i can buy a decent multitool when ive done that seven times already.
This might get patched soon, but it is possible to build the mining laser on the sentinel multi tools, even though they come with the hijacked laser, which is intended to serve as the multi tool’s mining laser. Having the 2 mining lasers next to each other provides a massive adjacency bonus, causing the mining beam’s damage to skyrocket.
I went to my mold farm and ran through it with the hijacked laser. Then I added the mining laser and ran through it again and ended up with less recovered mold after adding the mining laser. And once you add it you can't remove it.

I actually recently found what I guess you could call an exploit, but it only works in relaxed difficulty I’m pretty sure. Basically what you do is you buy any ship on any space station and immediately salvage it at the ship upgrade station. Usually gives you double the credits you bought it for, plus a few upgrade modules to go along with it

I spent a couple hours this morning leisurely doing #2. I had half the stuff but none of the more expensive items. Still going to do Nexus missions. After all I want to see what happens when you buy a 1000 fireworks at once.

Exploits really aren't needed when you can just change many of the games properties in its settings. You can basically turn on creative mode while not disabling achievements. Get more resources, unlock all of everything for free, free crafting, free ship fuel, etc. If you find an epic freighter you want but don't have near enough units. Make it free in the settings and buy it.
BTW, the creative mode is worth playing. Say you need to find a way to build your statis device farming without cheating. It becomes a good farming game. LOL
Love to see the exploits for these single player games, they can increase your fun especially to change it up a bit.
The grind is fun, but the duplication glitch helps speed up the process, even with maximum money and nanites this game is still a grind! It's crazy!!! I love it

I use a lot of these as i help new players get started by providing these items like slot upgrades and modules for them when they need however I was wondering if you know where i can find the exosuit and multi tool expansion slot items because i havent found them to be able to duplicate them for these new players im on xbox series x any ideas where to look?
Multi-tool expansions are tough to get. You need to get them from the correct “secure facility”. I think it is the manufacturing facility. Go to one, solve the alarm puzzle and then get the multi-tool expansion.
Portal refiner glitch still works. I stack them one on top another in the same orientation. I just used it today *May 21 2023* tainted metal and duped 40k worth.

Thanks for sharing! I understand your trepidation sharing these, but I’ll just set rules for myself for runs where I don’t want to cheat, like the expedition.
you can also refine an item to 4095 on normal mode, leave it in the finished product slot, recharge your refiner, and add something to the deposit slot, when you duplicate the item you get 120 carbon(if fuel is at 100%), and duplicate of everything else, so can get 4095 nanites, or whatever you refined, as well as what you put in the deposit slot (for example 120 carbon from the fuel (if fuel is at 100%), 9999 mold, or other nanite generating materiel, and 4095 nanites after you refine to get all 4095 (can take a few minutes)) I do this on occasion for a new game or new expedition, I get the 900 or so salvage data needed for all base components, and get a nice 122k nanites (btw I duplicate the salvage data, and refine it to get the 4095 nanites, fairly easy way to get nanites in early game because salvage data is just about everywhere and it's easy to get 2 metal plates and 60 oxygen to start the duplication glitch process)
AHK macros can be easily created for the build glitches as well if you do a tiny bit of research (if people are struggling with the timing)
Think carefully before you do this, if you're like me it won't take long before you get bored of the game because you can glitch your way to anything without investing any effort. I'm already starting to feel it now that I spent one evening maxing out my ship and multitool slots (plus left a stack of 50 for each for future tool/ship expansions) as well as getting 300k nanites and countless million credits.
Leave yourself some stuff to do the old fashioned way. Using the bot to have a pre-made base delivered to you seems so unsatisfying to me.
I start NMS when utopia came, and i had 200 hours legit save did almost everything, and after sentinel update i lost it bcs of crashing, i got back to the point i was on new save in 20+ hours.. all bcs of almighty refiner glich 😅 and i start on my new job so it was necesery 😅
On console, you can place your first refiner and if you don’t move the camera, you can place a refiner, items in it and then spam the build menu and a refiner in that exact same spot, I can spam 7 refiners in like 15 seconds and have a seriously quick rotation in.
You can also just use two refiners, place one, take one, place one, take one and keep doing that, just don’t move the camera.
I wanted to see just how fast so I started with 1 Chromatic metal and I duped that 1 until I completely filled a maxed inventory ship with all chromatic metal slots at 9999
It took me about 4 minutes. It’s fuckin OP lol

Funny thing with nanite duplication.... you can refine a bunch of stuff into nanites, then drag the nanites into the slot to try refine em again then stack all the refiners, you will duplicate the nanites you refined from materials you collected when you retrieve the refiners

Yep using whispering eggs is probably the fastest way if you have maxes out your inventory slots you can put down a crap ton of refiners or you can do it in batches keeping the eggs and the nanites in the refiner will help with that. Alternatively you can dupe a crap ton of S class modules and sell them for nanites.....
@@altorins how much do those go for? I was duping the hyaline brains that you get from sentinel ships. I was getting 250 nanites per brain. Duping them with the max of 10 per slot with 9 refiners. I ended up getting over 200k in 5 mins

The build anything one is so good!! Nothing worse than having to leave your base building to get cadmium or something else to build one thing. I dont mind mining for carbon and stuff it can be relaxing with the music but thats as far as me enjoying mining goes lol
You can always turn crafting requirements off whenever you are building so you don’t need to grind the resource’s, I have a creative save that I just try building different bases on for free before I make them on one of my survival saves

exploit I use is the moving the seed of tech by removing the teleport receiver then reinstall it. Ie you find a good stat X class mod on the 6th package you open then reload save then uninstall the receiver then reinstall/uninstall 5 times to move the seed, then on no 6 package open the X class. Used to have to use a lot of c class to move the seed.
S class mods are old school. Try the new Interceptor brains. A full stack of 10 in your backpack refiner will net you about 2000 nanaites per stack.
A stack of 10 S class mods will sell for ~4000 nanites
sad the glitch i saw for medium refiner w portable to get dupes of both items from the medium doesnt seem to work anymore but least the base one does plus if u make free stuff at base and scrap it boom instant free mats
you can still stack portable refiners on top of each other for an easy dupe

For the refiner exploit I highly recommend that you go into first person and do it that way. Trust me it's easier.
I'm all for playing games however you find entertaining. That said, I still don't understand taking a bunch of steps to give yourself money when you can just toggle the resource requirements for purchases on/off in the difficulty menu. Is there something I'm missing? Help me understand! Otherwise, good video. I took a break to play other games for a bit, and coming back, I had totally forgotten about the wire glitch and its never-ending usefulness. 👍
you can duplicate perfect X class upgrade that you have repacked like in the video you can't do that with the free purchase option
*many have locked 🔒 their settings so an adjustment would not be possible.
and as odd as it sounds, duping and still doing “something” for units and nanites is fun. I still wanna play the game afterall, just like doing things differently to break things up. having a platinum farm and refining your way to a billion units is considered “legit” but not as fun for me. eventually when you play the game long enough, it all becomes creative mode.
They only just added the in game difficulty setting which works well for players like me since I can set it up differently depending on the situation. Also you can't actually give yourself money. You can duplicate tainted medal, but you still have to refine it into nanites.

Pretty easy. People who play for years have locked difficulty settings. That's the first thing I did when this was the option. It's not the way we did this in the past and it's not the way you suppose to play this game. Pick a difficulty and lock it immediately at it's default settings
i can still do the portable glitch by being off multiplayer and be on my freighter and place one port refiner down and put what i want into it that i want to dup and stack 50 or more port refiners on top exactly the hold down the middle mouse button to reclaim them all and have 50 or more of that item spawn into inventory with zero issues. i do this with my runaway molds in stacks of 5000 over and over. then refine them on my freighters large refiner.

Not really an exploit, but maybe something helpful! If you don't have the cash or don't want to pay for an Emergency Signal Scanner, you can do the following:
Use an Anomaly Detector (randomly obtained by shooting space rocks) and pulse until the derelict freighter symbol comes up; stop and go through it.
Pawn off the spoils at the space station.
Go into space and call the Anomaly
Hit up Helios in the Anomaly for a free Emergency Signal Scanner.😉
EDIT: You can then get a free ESS every week from Helios too!

The game literally has setting to play how you want for the most part. People taking issue with a how a person plays a solo game experience is nuts
So, you can have multiple saves.. join a friend, you in creative, friend in normal or custom mode. You scrap a ship, give him all of the expensive stuff to hold, then switch to a "normal" non creative save, join aforementioned friend again, get your stuff back, and sell the stuff. Works like a charm.
You are adding steps unnecessarily.
Make shure you have all desired items in your inventory, join friend (if in your ship do not exit) and send them all items, leave group and load restore point. Confirm all items are still in your inventory, if not reload last save (do not exit ship, use pulse drive, or warp between any step) if you want to make hundreds of items rejoin friend and have them send it back, after wich you can enter and exit your ship to update the restore point and repeat as desired.
The game came into the Nintendo Switch which the only thing i have. No PC, Xbox, PS4. Im new to the game and hated being poor in the game. Will finish the game 1st and arterwards ill try to do this glitches. Thanks
Not Permadeath yet still hard-core for what is literally an endless grind
To each their own but some of the methods seem like a more tedious way of just modifying difficulty settings… which I also understand some people get all bent out of shape over for some reason but hey… I’m playing to enjoy the game, not for some telltale difficulty mark on my profile for the more snobby players to scoff at.
Clocked hundreds of hours on PS4 long before the difficulty updates, moved to PC eventually and just could not be arsed with going through all that grinding and base building again so I was glad when I could just toggle free building/crafting on and just build myself up to where I was on console. Don’t see the point in locking the difficulty, I’m always tweaking my bases and playing how I want to play, and exploits that can be easily achieved through the difficulty settings I just don’t have the patience for personally… extra effort for the same outcome when I could just be exploring or designing more bases. Been there and done all the mining and crafting metal sheets for years, now I can enjoy the game as a hybrid creative mode / survival mode game
On saying that, some of the exploits like duping and the emergency receiver thing are good to know. I don’t have free purchases switched on or anything like that so for tainted metal and nanites it’s good to find ways to get those easier… well, nanites are fairly easy if you just spend your days slaughtering wave after wave of sentinels for their glass
I knew the quick silver glitch but wasn't telling about it bc I was afraid it would be taken out of the game 😂
