Bless your heart 💜 for your hard work and donating all the furniture to people in need 💝
That huge trunk would be best utilized as its intended purpose. People always need storage. Find a way to redo to top. Maybe a slat barn wood top.
Fellow flipper here! LOVE your foster care charity idea! Would love to donate a piece once you get it all sorted
Oh that would be wonderful! Foster children are in every city and I am sure there are children aging out of foster care where you live that would LOVE a piece donated by you.
True! Never even crossed my mind before I heard you say it. Will definitely look locally as well!
To cover the hearts, I purchased thin wooden medallions to cover both sides. It works out great.
That's a great idea!
Hi from Wales, I just want to say, you are amazing at what you do, and that you donate your pieces, you must be an angel, bless you xxxxxx
Thank you Lesley! I have ancestors from Wales. The "walters"
The cabinet with heart cut outs could be a cute mini kitchen for a small child.
Such a good point
I use love your ideas and it is so special that you donate your work. You are and will be blessed.
Proud of you for helping people.
We use an ottoman instead of regular coffee table now that trunk would make a great one with storage..
Anything dual purpose will be appreciated. An ottoman or trunk with storage, can be used as a coffee table and can also be used as additional seating-winner!
Add a tray....coffee table! Many uses....great piece!
Ohhh idea ... a wrought iron base from an old sewing machine would look amaze-balls w the marble top!!
Very good idea!!!!
Don’t judge us short people! 😏😁 I LOVE the authenticity of the pieces and your passion/talent!
Thank you I am also a short person
Good things come to great people. You are so kind and thoughtful. I adore your work. AMAZING
Thank you so much!
Sorry I missed the live. You got some great stuff! Can’t wait to see how they all turn out!
Thank you so much for watching! Dont worry about missing the live. I appreciate you!
Holy cow!! You're going to be so busy! :) Can't wait to see all your beautiful transformations!
Thank you ;)
Easily 3 months worth of videos/projects
Im going to be moving from a tiny house to a 2 bedroom mobile home so I can really use these ideas.Thank you for sharing.
Awesome stuff! I would have the trunk for a coffee table with storage for blankets!
That would be so cozy
@@DesertDIY I agree! ♥👍
I'm thinking the low dining table most likely had casters originally which would have made it quite a lot higher. I'm old, born in 1945 in England but Canadian for over 50 years, and remember seeing that kind of style when I was little and older adults had them in their homes. Casters from that era did heighten the pieces they were attached to, they are very different from modern ball casters. They were little wheels rotating on mini axles attached to a frame that was then attached to the furniture, and the height of the furniture was adjusted to allow for them.
You have a fantastic haul, I want all of it! 😄 Especially that single bar stool, perfect for my art table, but I'm way up in the great white North, boohoo. 🤓
You are so right! I wish you could come pick up this barstool
Love that little Duncan Phyfe table! And I would convert the bassinet into a raised bed for a deck or apartment balcony! You could put metal rings in it to hold a standard size flower pot for container gardening!
Great idea
That's clever, in my neighborhood there is a lady whose side yard flower garden is beautiful and she always complained that her front yard was too small for a good "garden bed", she got creative and used a twin bed frame to make a raised "bed" for her front yard. Now there are "Flower Beds" all over our neighborhood!
@@nancystowell4877 What a FAB idea!
The wooden crate is beautiful and that French thing is just cool. The vintage table is a little treasure. You have so much work to do but also very rewarding!
Happy Thanksgiving!!
Thank you Charlotte. I cant wait to start, although I am a little overwhelmed right now. Doing the right thing is usually not the easiest thing, but the most rewarding.
Wow! You made a great haul. Lots of nice pieces. Can’t wait to see the transformation. Your daughter will love her doll house🙂. I love how you use bright colors. Thanks so much for sharing.
Oh wow! What a haul. That trunk would be great if you sand it, add a clear finish, add casters to the bottom so it rolls and make the top two sided. One side can have a cushion for sitting and then flip it and the other side can be a hard surface like a table. Get the best of both worlds.🤗
Thats a great idea
The old weathered chest with the broken top....always think storage. Their first place will be small in size and cost. I know my boys were always looking for furniture that served more than one purpose.
Very good point!
I have the sewing cabinet with feet and use it for legos inside and put the lego base on the top
How cute!
Wow so many stuff you find I can't wait to see when them trund out .Beautiful.
Thank you, I can't wait to start
That white oak piece is gorgeous!
I agree!!! So beautiful. Can't wait to clean it up
You are brilliant at what you do
Thank you Ria
I am so sorry I was at work but I am here now I really like a yard sale
No need to apologize Janet. Thank you for supporting my channel. I hope you had a great day at work
@@DesertDIY yes it was a good day.
WOW... great finds!
My daughter used a bassinet for her babies (. They are now 2 years old and 3 years old) beside her bed. Being a nursing mom it was easier. She used them until they were around 4-5 months old.
Oh I hope you put a new top on the huge trunk... always need storage! 👍.
Can’t wait to see what you do with them all! Of course I have watched the video already were you did fix them up and they are amazing!
Thank you again! Exciting things coming
using the peel and stick countertop on the desk makes it more versatile because it can be then used in the kitchen as additional counter space or an island a lot of apartments have really bizarrely shaped kitchens
Great point!
I put the bassinet in my living room for during the day. Both my kids used it. The crib at night.
So wonderful that u refurbish these pieces to donate. ..god bless!! Merry Christmas to u and ur family!
Thank you Jen!
The small, short table with ceramic tile top is a "cigarette" table, aka coffee table. Usually there were two which you would place in front of your sofa. Btw, the sofas were shorter in height then, too. 😱 Love your haul!!! Can't wait to see the finished products! Thank you for saving the unpopular pieces!
Such a good point Jacque. I had forgotten that couches were also shorter.
lounges were shorter as well. I remember my grandparents lounge in the 70's and it was short and my grandfather was over 6 ft and he had trouble getting up from such a low chair, so they got their lounges built up by a carpenter and re-upholstered.
How funny!
The heart wood piece looks like a puppet show stand for kids lol. Very cool haul, love your channel!!
I love your projects! You are very talented!
Thank you so much Judith!
I can't wait to see what you do with everything. I think I have seen a coupe of them already but will look for the others. I'm anxious to see the big trunk/box refreshed.
The cedar chest....the cut out on the under side of the lid held a cedar infused cake, like diaper pales used to have, so when you sat on the foam pad air would get pushed through the vent holes and push scented air into the chest.
Oh wow. I'm sure you can't find those anymore lol
The trunk with a broken top would make a cool coffee table that raises up to table height. I can totally picture a young mom opening up the toy box and sitting on the sofa at the table with her laptop.
That would be awesome
@@DesertDIY I'm not sure where you get those hinges that lift the top to table height
A bassinet is great for having your new baby anywhere in your home during the day if you want to have baby close. Also great for the first month so baby can room with mum and dad.
Cots or cribs are usually for 4 months onward.
I used a bassinet for all 4 of my babies.
I can see you are going to be busy leading up to Christmas. But lots of potential Christmas gifts there. Have fun.
I think the huge trunk would make a great ottoman that doubles as a coffee table.
So you've probably already flipped most, if not, all of this. But GingerChickRehab had a really short table like that. They took off the top (and used it elsewhere) and added two pieces and spindles to make a tiered table. It was so perfect!
I’m 5’2” and find today’s dining sets are too tall. 😂 So maybe somebody won’t mind the dinning set being short. If you make the table higher then the chairs will sit too low.
Love the chest. Would be nice as an ottoman with storage. Love the natural aged patina.
I am 4'9 and there are a lot people who don't mind smaller tables
Wow can’t wait to see what you do with the tall bamboo thing!!
Id put a glass top on that funky box/chest to make into a coffee table cuz it would look awesome to see the insides of it as well as the outside
Thats a neat perspective
I’m so excited to see how the transformation go. What a great project.
I have a COVID project where I’m painting/fixing chairs. I will have a yard sale in June ‘2021 where the proceeds go to the Women’s Community Centre called ANOVA here in London Ontario.
All their yearly fund raisers have been cancelled so this is my way for giving back.
I am so proud of you for what you are doing Ida
I’m so proud of your and your project as well.
It’s so wonderful what is coming out of these odd times.
I get so inspired from your videos.
Thank you.
Oh my goodness u scored girl...That rattan piece will be amazing
Thank you Wendy! Looks like I'm going to be turning that trunk into an ottoman! Lol
You could take that board that is bowed soak it in water lay it out put something heavy on it to straighten it out maybe put the top back together and keep it as a trunk it’s a beautiful piece
The cabinet with the heart cut outs would be adorable for a little girls room! A light pink with gold accents would look nice. Maybe a floral contact paper inside the cabinet part? Could be used for books or for art supplies. Just found your RUclips channel & am binging all your videos! Love seeing what you are able to create!!
Great ideas Katie
For the chest thing I was thinking maybe you could make a shelf out of it? Not sure how it looks on all sides though. That's a tough one. The ottoman would probably be the easiest since you have so many projects lined up. Thanks for the update! I'm looking forward to them all.
The big cheast give me orangery vibes, I would put two big palm tree ore banana plants ore mixed with citrus trees (all potted) in to. And at the rim I would attatch a wooden rim out of aged wood to complete the look.
Best regards from Bavaria, Germany!🤗❤
That would be cute! Thank you
You really were blessed, keep up your great work
Thank you, I truly am blessed
I love this kind of stuff
Me too!
You are so kind xx well done xx cant wait to see the transformation. Xx
Oh my heart. Those faux books are beautiful as they are. Cleaned up and in a vignette on a shelf or table. You got quite the haul!
Thank you Kelly
The white stool looks like the stool that came with my grandma’s Singer sewing machine.
75 bucks for that haul? Wow, you did really well. So much potential.
Nice haul... and what a great deal! The little square table with the broken marble was part of a pair that was meant to be placed side by side as a coffee table. They were very popular in the 60s and 70s. The marble top was probably not original to the piece... but, I could be wrong about that!
Very cool! Thank you!
Ottoman, very light white wash, wheels for moving. An don't forget safety hinges for the lid.
The plain wood you could put coat hooks on them
I’m excited to see what you come up with, what a treasure haul!
Thank you Kathy!
I love everything you got and can’t wait to see what you do with it all!! I think the broken trunk would be a great coffee table!!!
Thank you Teresa
I missed it. I send you my best wishes for 2021 from Belgium
Broken tile. Keep it! See the beauty in the broken.☺
It is pretty jagged so I wouldnt want someone to hurt themselves on it. I will try and find something similar
The hoop is a lap quilt frame...they will hold fabric tightly for ages ,you wouldn't even need to glue it.
Congratulations! You got a great, ( big) haul. Lots of good furniture. ❤🖌❤
Thank you Belinda
Great haul! Great price, too! I was so surprised when I saw the little table at 4:52. I have the exact same table and I've never seen another one like it. The little tile top table could be made into a child's table if you rounded off those edges. The broken trunk is wonderful! I like both of your ideas and either would be very useful. God Bless!!!!
PS I'm one of those infuriating wood lovers - I'm glad you're leaving the wood on some of the pieces. 😊
The broken trunk lid, the part with the hinges would make a good shelf.
Great idea!
I had a bench with the hearts on the sides....I just covered with 4” piece of wood.... now it looks great____ you could go horizontal or vertical....just an idea! Particle board could be used for signs or shop shelves.....Great haul...have fun!😊k
Thank you for the ideas K
I'm a bit of a real wood fan girl so I'm especially looking forward to that dresser. I don't care what people do with their pieces as long as something that can be used isn't going in the trash. It's fun watching the creativity with paints imo.
There are some wood grain than should never be covered up by me. White oak from this long ago is one of them. Its just so beautiful
It is beautiful. Red oak and cherry in dark warm finishes that don't have a high sheen or are a little distressed are my personal favorites.
It’s called golden oak .. it’s beautiful! I think I saw your video on the redo of the magazine rack and coffee table and they turned out great
The carvings on the chairs were not ducks they were fruit with the blossom end showing, like the bottom of an apple and what you thought was the ducks bill is just leaves. The Early American side table with the storage was used to put a throw when not in use...many times we would hurry to pick up when unexpected company showed up to hide kids toys magazines etc.
Just an idea...the small stone top..short table..make a child table....but cant wait for the ideas from you to show us the end results!!
Oh and the thing you said for the garden..would be a cool bird cage..and hate I missed your live..🤗
Beautiful chairs with the table. you got some great pieces...
Thanks Becky
I know this is three months old that shelf that wicker Shelf you can take and spray paint it black with the glass it will look great updated
bassinets are back in style
I know that shelving units are a dime a dozen but that old trunk with the recessed rectangles or rectangular paneling (however you'd like to describe it) with all the interesting details if stood it up on one of its short ends, so the length of it was vertical, you could put shelving, or maybe make doors, or both... And then you could add legs if you'd like, I would I've been on a leg kick lately. I feel using legs, of any size really, to elevate a piece and get it up off the floor, even just an inch even, helps to finish a piece and make it look more custom and high end. I bought a white textured wallpaper from home depot and Im going to use on the back of a shelving unit and/or cabinet and then I'll paint it to match the rest of the piece, and I think that would. Look great in this as well
Great ideas! Thank you
Hi I’m proberly too late but the trunk with warp top if you wet the warp then clamp it ,it right it self, cheers terry
The large pink padded bench my grandmother got a bunch of them at a place that sold used hotel furniture it goes at the end of a bed
Haha thats believable! It will be getting a huge face lift :)
Try Turning that bassinet into a laundry basket. The French thing is called an etagere.
Oh thank you so much
@@DesertDIY you’re welcome
My vote is with your hubby...Ottoman. Great find
Nice grouping of furniture. You scored well with this.
The marble on the short table would make a nice dough board for a bread baker. I saw one on a homesteader channel I watch.
That would be beautiful
the little occasional table (coffee table) is duncan phyfe. super cute.
Yes, it is a duncan phyfe reproduction
I wouldn’t raise the dining room table . One because the chairs will be too low, I am 5’2” and I have problem with tables being too high. So I would leave it be. Great bargains for the price paid. Will be watching to see what you do with them. I have a couple of tables in my storage I want to redo but I need simple. 😂 lol
Love to go to garage sales you can find a lot of good things.
Absolutely
Wow! How wonderful you got so many things for an amazing price. I can’t wIt to see what you do with them. 💕
Thank you Beth. I excited to get started
for the pine heart furniture, try a "shou sugi ban" finish. RUclips has good video on doing the finish on pine wood. Something fun and different than the standard stained pine finish.
Fist bump on the dining table! Lol
Wow, amazing haul with equally amazing savings! Cant wait to see how you use your creativity and love to transform each piece👍👍💕
Thank you! I'm so excited to start
Awesome haul! Now I know where that one desk came from - the one where you used the black wood grain peel-and-stick vinyl. I’m exhausted just from watching this video! 😂
Haha yes I'm finally dwindling down my huge haul
Yes you can fix the top and make a cool rustic farm home coffee table with extra storage is perfect do not turn it upside down all crooked and disfigure rustic look is very nice! Just waxed it with
Matt wax.
I'm thinking you could replace the the bassinet bed with a large metal tub in the frame and use outside for a drink and ice holder ...or a planter?
Remove all the material and bedding of course..I had a wicker bassinet and used it to hold ferns! I received lots of compliments on it too ..
Very creative!!!
I love the coffee table with a little feed on it
Isn't it adorable?
There is a product called Liquid Sand/Sander. Works really well on laminate to give it some tooth for paint...
Gosh I wish we could find things like this here in South Africa. Just not done here. People would sell furniture like this for ridiculously high prices.
What you called a "Sewing Cabinet looks like a Dough Box, take a long sniff of it and if it smells like yeast, then that's what it is. As for the "short" dining table & chairs, perhaps for Children? In some more wealthy homes around the turn of the century, the small children usually ate in the "nursery" and older children ate in the Kitchen area, until they were of a "socially acceptable" age. So perhaps redo it with children in mind.
Lotsa projects can’t wait to see all the finished products. Debbie from Canada
Just saw your furniture haul. My Gran had a lot of the pieces you got. I am 67 so they are old....lol
I have the bread box/ sewing box. Redo it first so I can see how to redo mine. Love watching you from Florida. Huggs
Thank you Jeannie
If the basinet is sturdy, there are many young people with new babies that cannot afford a crib initially.
True!!!
I do like the ottoman idea.
I can't wait to see how all this turns out!! Beautiful!! I'm sure just like all your other projects! You've got your hands full for a good minute... Hee Hee! Looks like my pile is stuff...can't seem to catch up though cuz I'm always bringing/buying more stuff from garage sales! 😂 Oh! BTW...I think the chest would be BEAUTIFUL if you redo a lid ..cover it ..and if it's not too old just bring out the wood on the box it self or just stain it to bring out the details! Use at the foot of your bed!!😉
Yes great idea. I intend to wire brush it clean then sand it and wax it
It's gonna be beautiful!!
