  • Опубликовано: 10 фев 2025
  • At the start of the last decade, Cain Velasquez devastated his opponents on the feet, overwhelmed them on the ground, and never allowed a second of respite inside the cage. Now, the former champion faces a potential 20-year prison sentence. While Cain grapples with the justice system, let's take a journey in his fighting footsteps: from remarkable triumphs to heartbreaking tragedies.

I mean Shane Carwin almost finished him in 1 round and Alistair did finish him in 1 round. Those are two guys Cain would have destroyed. I think the fight goes the same with Brock. Regardless, Brocks a warrior. Very talented guy.

Though short lived... No one's prime was as dominant as Cain's. I always wondered if he was ever that healthy to begin with. I really wonder what a truly PRIME Cain would have done in there with Jon Jones. What a dream superfight that would have been. It was hard to see his health decline so quickly. Especially that car accident with Francis... Yikes! Absolute HW GOAT of his era though.

Cain's career was short and his many injuries were due in large part (Mostly) by his conditioning coach (Joe Grasso), who had him do heavy excessive wrong and bad techniques to show off for the camera. Cain destroyed his body. If you saw his 203 lbs. kettlebell swings (25 reps) and 300 lbs. (100 reps) leg extensions, you will know why Cain was constantly injured. Shoulders, back, and knees.

Agreed. I've been saying that since the incident. If he had used his hands, then Goularte would probably be buried right now. However, since Cain used a firearm, the prosecutor can argue that he put innocent bystanders in jeopardy. I'm a father myself, so I can completely understand wanting justice, I just wish he had found a way to obtain vengeance without ending up in prison. With any luck, he will end up getting a lighter sentence than the 20-year maximum penalty.

Strong, smart, versatile, best cardio abilities like no other, professional, disciplined, friendly, respectful, no trash talking, a humble and mature guy, a good friend, husband, son and father. So many attributes that it’s so unfair and disgusting to see a child m0lester getting out on bail so fast while a protective and caring father just did what any of us would’ve done in the same situation stayed 8 months in prison and a potential 20 yr sentence if found guilty of at least half of the charges. I don't know about that. Ngannou is definately the most freakishly gifted heavyweight probably in combat sports history next to George Foreman, and Sonny Liston. Ngannou beat Cain quickly, but I don't think Ngannou is a better overall fighter than Cain was. Stipe is the most accomplished heavyweight of all time, but I think a prime Cain beats him 2 out of 3 times just due to Cain's style. Frank Mir is a legendary heavyweight, and one of the absolute greatest the division has ever seen, but a prime Cain was a ruthless savage with unlimited cardio and aggression. It would depend on whether Frank could take the punishment from Cain, and catch him in a submission. Frank did it to Lesnar, and Noguiera, so he definately had the ability to make it happen, but Cain was so great at maintaining balance, and scrambling quickly before his opponents could react to what he was doing, plus he used his ground and pound at the same time as his scrambling. All of those guys are the absolute best the division has ever had to offer. I would throw Couture in there as well, but Couture was more of a natural LHW, and was a bit undersized for a HW. Still, he was also one of the greats of that division.

@@harrylarge9403 The reason Ngannou loses to prime Cain is style. He also loses to Cormier. Stipe who's not even a good wrestler dominated him. I mean Francis might get lucky and knock Cain out, but 4 out of 5 times both Cormier and Cain easily beat him. The evidence is there. Francis is a great fighter though. You realize JDS was NEVER the same after getting demolished by Cain right. Francis did not beat a prime JDS at all. JDS was not even close to the same guy when he fought Francis. He was worse in every way possible. I'm surprised you didn't know that about JDS. He fell off a ton.
