I agree with you , ppl so desperate for any news from 1up they're getting excited for yet another pacman. They havent dropped anything new in forever and some ppl actually think now that they got that loan that they will actually use that money for new titles.... No chance they take any more chances the rest of the way. I could see them rehashing a few cabs every year with hopes that someone will buy them out before ppl stop buying the rehashes.
1 last note. After the MvC collection release. I really wish Namco would stop holding the old Tekkens hostage and do the same exact thing as Capcom did. I don't want a A1up release, dont trust them at all. Sad thing is, Travis MCP would/could give them the blueprint on how to do it successfully, but they wouldn't listen. That MK story killed any hope and trust when I heard that. They don't even listen to highly valid sources, muchless the fan base. /steps off soap box.
I couldn't be less excited about these arcade1up releases honestly. A claw machine would be cool for my 5 year old but I feel like the novelty would wear off pretty quickly. Plus all those moving mechanical parts in the claw machine?? What kind of warranty will be on that?? None I'm sure. We can barely get any support for our simple arcade cabinets!
This is what happens when you replace a guy like John D who puts in the work, with a guy like Cyrus who as far as I can tell is just a grinning lackey. He's the kind of guy to make a guest appearance on a stream after months of radio silence, say he can't answer any of the questions they ask (some people say it's because he was afraid he'd get fired, but I honestly believe it's because he had literally nothing to show), and then wonder why people are mad at him for wasting their time. Cyrus reminds me of of literally every person I've ever worked with who never pulled their weight. Arcade1Up hasn't acquired any new arcade games since John D stopped working there. The only way we're going to see new games is if they hire Media1Up or someone with a similar work ethic.

I’d be excited about a Pac-man machine if it had the whole family on it, Pac-man, Ms Pac-man, Jr Pac-man, Baby Pac-man (switches to video pinball when needed) the old bootleg Pac-man games, online vs Pac-man, Championship editions, Level Maze Maker ability, … and Donkey Kong lol
MOAT, I think the Pac-Man Plus Deluxe machine could be really important. After the debacle with the Pac-Man, Class of 81', and Galaga Deluxes, as well as the Pac-Man XL, with Arcade1Up choosing a model of BOE that couldn't handle the new extreme angle slant of the display, causing horrible screen uniformity issues, it looks like this new Pac-Man Plus positions the monitor at a more standard angle. If that's the case, and they are still using BOE, we may just be getting a new Pac-Man machine, with all 14 games that came on the previous Deluxes and XL, all without the display issues. I wanted to get the two games that don't appear on my Pac-Man Legacy, Rolling Thunder and Galaga 88, but I wasn't going to downgrade my display experience by getting the aforementioned mistake editions. Now I get, "yet another Pac-Man machine" isn't exciting for many of those who've been in the 3/4 scale club for years, but seeing a version that almost fits everything I want, is pretty cool to me. HOWEVER... I don't care for the one piece design of these new Deluxes. I want 2 piece riser cabs, because I find them much easier to move and situate. I'm not a young buck any longer, and I find I can't move things as easily. I just wish Arcade1Up could cater to both camps and not just relegate a riser version to a "peasant" edition with no bells and whistles, where you have to buy a separate generic riser. But for me, I pretty much have everything I want now. Arcade1Up, though most of their products are substandard, they had their finger on the pulse of best classic cabinets ever made, and made versions of them. I was lucky enough to be active in that space at the time and pick up enough of them to round out my entire Home Arcade. I'm still sending good vibes out there that some company keeps making 3/4 scaled licensed machines for any cabinet that someone wants. I'd love to see everyone who wants it, have the Home Arcade of their dreams. I know how good it feels, and I want others to experience that same great feeling. Have a great one! vgv

I can convert old cabs into anything I would like anyhow because A1up could never do a game right the first time up. Honestly, I always felt that was done on purpose to get people to buy these rehashed games as an "upgrade." So why get it right the first time? You rerelease the MvC2 long after the dynamo and BB and you release it on a midway style? No way. Ill take the YF and convert it into a proper KI2 cab, I'll take my second dynamo and convert it into a Gouls n ghost because if it were up to A1up, it would be done in a midway with lack of attention to detail artwork. How did capcom feel about this? No wonder nintendo didn't give them a go. Mario cab in a digdug shape cab? Anyhow, again, it's good to see you back.
Yes, I AM excited about a claw machine. Unlike some recent efforts from A1U, a claw machine IS something you'd find in an actual arcade. Plus, my kids would love it. And that's enough for me. 👍 (But what I REALLY want are new titles in XL, of course!)
@PaulXMann I just hope that it holds up with the build quality considering it's not tied to a brand name but their own so they should be able to put better parts inside of it (as far as the mechanism goes)
I want a claw machine but it's not worth $499, these are our only options to get excited right now. That pacman is worth $199, same as it sold for last time w/riser, $249 tops. Don't call yourself fat. I do think I'll put candy in the balls though, lol. Claw machine makes the arcade more diverse, not for everyone but I've always wanted to win something and never have, lol. I'd be surprised to see what influencers (if any) they actually pick up.
