Miyoo Mini is the gift that keeps on giving! I might get an Ayn Odin 2 when that eventually launches on IndieGoGo but after Miyoo Mini no handheld will feel quite as good as it could do due to it not featuring Onion OS.
Onion OS is what every other handheld is missing honestly

@@RetroBreezeYTI wanted to test songs on it (miyoo mini), but I ask you who already tests a lot more things than me, this is my question, it has a music app that comes with the update, default songs come, but I don't know if it takes different songs on it, do you know if you get it?
This is gonna be my Saturday morning console. All the old games I use to play as a kid, plus all the old shows I used to watch. Nostalgia box.

last week I watch a whole mario movie on my DS lite for fun and it was a unique experience
I would recommend using the 360p30 preset for the miyoo if your content is widescreen. This will ensure you get the full 640 pixel width on the 640x480 screen which should look a bit better than 720x480 downscaled, especially if you prefer crisp pixels that aren't 'soft' looking.

lastly, not sure if it’s just me, but the stock speaker has been superior to the upgraded speaker and even the v2 speaker upgrade. the upgrades distort at louder volumes and also at various frequencies both low and high. all the reviews i’ve seen say the opposite. i also bought two of each in case it was a defect but nope, the fidelity isn’t as good as my stock one.
Yes it does do music too! It'll just go right into the EQ or screensaver effect. All controls are the same :)

Actually I downgraded to a 32GB and I only keep four or five games at a time now. Keeps me focused on finishing games!
@@RetroBreezeYT Quick question, I am using the latest onion os, but I do not have Web File Browser, I want to be able to access the micro sd without having to keep removing the micro sd and connecting to my pc, I did check in the package manager, and there is no Web File Browser, any ideas ?
hi! i followed these instructions including converting the videos, but they don't seem to be showing up in my player? i go to the folder you indicated, but it only shows the default onion videos in there. i can see the folder that i created for my videos, but when i open it, it shows that nothing is there. do you have any idea what might be causing it?
path is : Media > Videos > "Show Name" > Video Files Are Here
they also don't show up if i put them directly under "Videos" with no sub folder
edit: i'm on a miyoo mini plus with the pre-installed ffplay that comes built in. i saw some of your comments that this is an issue, sorry!
edit 2: please disregard, i ended up finding a comment on reddit and just manually installed bobotrax ffplay. videos are playing now! thanks!

If I were to add an Imgs folder to the videos folder and add box-art images named to match each movie, would it display the box-art like it does for games? That would be a great touch for movies.

Have you figured out how to show subtitles? None of my files seem to display subtitles on the Mini.
Subtitles slowed the video to a glitchy mess in my opinion, if not just crashing the whole thing unfortunately...

an alternate way to downscale to 640x480 using the terminal (ffmpeg)
ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -vf scale=640:480 -c:v libx265 -c:a copy -crf 25 -preset slow output.mp4
(disclamer: i have not tested playing it on the mini plus yet)

Anyone got a favorite site for getting old cartoons/anime for this player?
This may be a stupid question but does it save where you were at in the video if you exit? For example say your halfway through an episode and turn the device on, when you turn it back on and boot into it will it continue from the point you ended?
Also does the video player work with the auto boot function and the swap save states function?

Probably too high resolution or bitrate.

Hey, uh, not sure if anyone can answer this but:
Is there a way to get the videos tab on Onion OS for games? I'm setting miyoos for my brother's kids, and I have 7 of 8 slots of the first page filled, so I figured it'd be better if the 8th was in fact, Videos, for ease of use.
Because well, kids be kids.
Does it play HEVC? I know FFplay supports it but not sure if the hardware can handle it. If it can it can save more space.

the ffplay thing came preinstalled on the miyoo mini plus, but every time i try to start a video it sends me back to the main menue... how can i fix it? :(
Check the miyoo mini reddit for some threads about it. It's probably a filetype, bitrate or codec issue

Personally I watch Cìkè Wǔliùqī aka Scissor Seven on my RG503. That OLED is great for video playback. 😌

I put dbgt on my miyoo and dbgt was 480 already so I didn't downscale it. it runs smoothly on conversations but when they start fighting it'll freeze on the first ki blastor if theres any flicker of light itll freeze I thought it was the file but I played it on my computer and it was fine so Im running the vids through that program in the video hopefully it'll fix the stuttering
Still stuttering at every high movement scene ill try 240 p and see if that'll help

not unless there’s a netflix app, you’ll have to download every thing and upload it to the device

MM+ comes with FFPlay built in, but I have not been able to get a single video to play 😅

I don't think its available on MiniUI but honestly I don't use it so I'm not 100% sure

What is you scroll down after going into the video system? One time they only appeared when I highlighted them in the list.

Depends entirely on the file sizes of the movies, but at this lpw resolution, it should be more than enough.

Yes it can! I just downsampled a 4K 60FPS video and tried it myself. Works perfectly and looks absolutely great!
