Honestly dude you're probably one of the best guitar players on youtube ive seen playing this kinda comping style. I've been learning how to play like this and improve with my comping but let me tell it is not easy.

An object lesson in how some people can do it but are just totally unable to explain in any coherent way, how they do it. Are there any clips of Reg playing in a live situation? I'd love to see him in action.
+carajaula There is an old saying, "If you do not know the syntax. You can not have the conversation. Just keep practicing you will find this helpful. Also just watching a lot of his vid's you will come up to speed. Sometimes faster things take awhile for you to get re flexed too. His speed comes from having read a lot of charts. Studio guys are like that,

this is great...if you don't get it, you need to study more chord progressions...and practice...you dont have to be advanced, but you need to have some intermediate knowledge of chord relationships.

A minor correction; the form of this tune is ABAC with the A and B sections being 8 bars. The C section is 10 bars.
